Can you believe that in all my days of planning, I was still without a plan for a wedding cake with less than a month to go?

Neither Mr. Bunny nor I have ever been too keen on cake, so we planned on having a homemade cookie bar instead. Mama Bunny, however, insisted we at least have a cake to cut. My original idea was to buy one of those tasty frozen Pepperidge Farm coconut cakes. They’re beautiful, romantic-looking and SUPER tasty!

MMM … I really want a bite of this right now!

The main requirement for our cake, though, was that it fit on the antique cake stand my grandmother gave me.

Pretty, no?

Unfortunately, I failed to take into account two important facts. First, the cake plate is round. The Pepperidge Farm cake is square. Second, the Pepperidge Farm cake is much smaller than my cake plate. It looked a little silly.

So pretty … and yet, so awkward. Like a little kid trying on her mom’s high heels. “Aww, sweetie! You’re just a leeeetle too small for those shoes!”

But soooo delicious! I got to eat the cake, so this experiment wasn’t a total failure. ;)

For a brief moment, I considered looking up the recipe and making a coconut cutting cake myself. Then I realized how in-freaking-sane that idea was. You ladies who make your own cakes get my utmost respect, because I knew I would be in no shape to be baking a cake a few days out from the wedding.

Instead, I started to look for an alternative …

Next up, I search for a cake design, a cake baker, and cake to feed our guests at our wedding, which is now three weeks away. Sheesh. Procrastinate much, Bunny?

Can she do it? Stay tuned to find out!

Just put some FLOWERS around it!!! Decorate it! I think with some decorations, you could be able to hide the fact that it’s rectangle. :-P AND perhaps put it on something to elevate it so it’s a bit higher… and THEN put even more flowers around it to hide the “base”

Pep Farm rocks my socks :)

And is also a very bad idea that they have a company store outside of their plant near Reading, PA that sells their “off products”. This means you can buy a whole grocery bag of milanos that are off center, too much chocolate, etc for like $2.00!!!!!

I think it looks cute! the coconut covered cake is totally classy, and definitely doesn’t look like it came from a box!
