Rockin’ Invitations

September 25th, 2009 @ 1:50 pm by Mrs. Parfait

Who needs TV when I have wedding blogs?

While channel-surfing through wedding sites a few months back, I came across some HUGE invitations. I love this idea! According to what I’ve seen so far, here are the makings of the perfect, ginormous wedding invitation:

  1. All of the info normally found on invites (names, times, places).
  2. A rockin’ concert-poster design.
  3. Ginormous-ism.

Sounds doable! I’d love to have one displayed at our wedding for people to sign. Here’s a too-cute example from the hive:

Rockin’ Invitations : wedding invitations stationery 15 ms-coconut-1

Artwork and a guest book, from Mrs. Coconut!

The poster invitations below are unique and eye-catching:

Rockin’ Invitations : wedding invitations stationery 25 2000dollarwedding-poster1

So many possibilities for personalization! I found these here.

Rockin’ Invitations : wedding invitations stationery 34 invite-rifle-design1

Love all the little details. Created by Rifle Design.

Amazing! I would love to receive something this artistic in the mail. I don’t think this is style we’ll use for our stationery, but I can definitely appreciate the creative design and the humongous-ness!

What kinds of unique ideas have you found while surfing through wedding blogs? Did you consider an unconventional format for your invites?

I did my invites like this….8.5×11 gloss posters rolled up, tied with a ribbon and shipped in a mailing tube. It was one of the best decsisions we made….everyone complimented us on them and it created quite the buzz for our wedding.

We had it professionally matted and had our guests sign the mat as the guest book….wedding was just this past Sat so we haven’t hung it up yet, but it looks awesome!

We will treasure it forever!

I LOVE Rifle design. I’m hoping to use her for our wedding invitations - just waiting for an estime. I also want to do a wedding poster rather than guest book. Fiance and I are huge music fans and love the idea of an “event poster”.

We’re sending out boarding pass invites as our relationship has included a lot of travel over the years… they’re almost finished too! Yay :)

I love the poster idea… my FI would love to send those invites out!

I saw the coolest invites on Etsy - they were posters folded up and inserted into a recycled-paper CD case like liner notes. They are a little out of our price range, so unfortunately someone else will have to live out this fantasy. Seller’s name is lilribbers if anyone is interested! :)

@Mrs. Mouse: Thanks!

We (or I suggest) a singing invite. Maybe Mr. Joey’s band could put together a song and we could package it as a CD. Mr. Joey wasn’t digging that. We went with the poster.

I love those. I want to get one made to have hanging in our house, but I’m not sure my guests would be as thrilled with the posters. I think my people would just be confused. lol

This is very close to our invitations! I found a designer on Etsy that could do these for us. I would post them but we still have some details to workout. But they are so cool and I’m doing a huge one as the guestbook like your picture above :)

@Amanda: How fun—I love anything that stirs up excitement over a wedding!

@Mrs. Joey: Hehee, a singing invite would be amazing. I loved your poster invites!

Ooh, a poster guestbook, how great is that! I have to say that those secret hideaway book invites that made the rounds a bit ago, were also amazing.

We’re thinking about doing poster invitations. I just need to stop having so many freaking ideas and just, well, go for it.
