Miss Frozen Yogurt's Picture
Miss Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
About Miss Frozen Yogurt

Signature Cocktail

September 28th, 2009 @ 2:52 pm by Miss Frozen Yogurt

At Marie Gabrielle, we get to choose a signature cocktail to be served during the cocktail hour. I decided to come to you all to tell you my options and see what you think. We get to choose from martinis, champagne cocktails and straight up drinks. When I first saw this list I immediately focused in on the champagne cocktails, but now as it’s had some time to sink in, I’m not so sure. So my top choices are:

The bellini-tini

Source

This is vodka, peach schnapps, peach juice and champagne. Yum. And gorgeous. I love bellinis. They don’t go with our colors at all, but that’s okay.

The Mojito

Source

I think we all know what’s in a mojito. The plus of this drink is that it is in our colors, and it’s also delicious.

And lastly, the Cham-Cham:

Source

It’s champagne and chambord. Yum. I’m just worried it’s been done too much.

So what do you all think? What should I go with? I’m torn.

ohhh, yum! the bellini-tini sounds amazing! I might have to steal that one from you since it would be perfect for our colors! I would definitely go with that one on taste alone… but then i do love a mojito and since it goes with your color scheme, that would be fabulous!

Cham-Cham! Champagne is so celebratory, and I love the pop of color from the chambord — and would you add a raspberry, too? :-)

I pick Bellini-tini, altho I do really like that the Mojitos match your colors. Personally I think maybe more people would go for the Bellini-tini :)

I also love the Cham-cham for the color and the champagne! I didn’t realize it’d been overdone…

I would not go with a mojito. As yummy as they are no one wants to worry about mint in their teeth at a wedding.

Mojitos are my favorite! I always drink mine through a straw (to avoid the mint in my teeth situation)… But I love the Cham-Cham because I agree with Bruschetta, everyone loves a fizzy celebratory drink :)

Umm, you really can’t go wrong with any. I think the bellini-tini would be my fave, with a mojito coming in close second.

Thanks for all the comments! One of my BMs mentioned spilling the bellini-tini on herself because she’s clumsy, and then I thought, oh crap so am I! But it’s still a high contender because it’s just that good!

The bellini-tini looks AWESOME. The cham-cham would be a close second. I don’t love mojitos, but that’s just me :)

done too much? well, i haven’t been to a single wedding that had a signature cocktail so i’m sure you’ll be fine either way. that said, i’d go for either the bellini-tini or the cham-cham

Never seen a cham-cham before, so it can’t be THAT overdone! ;)

I’d go with the mojito, though. It’s not toooooo girly, so the men may also enjoy it, it matches your colors, and it’s yummy-licious. Win-win-win!

Cham cham looks yummy right now, but I would go with the mojito. It’s an awesome (and classic) cocktail that goes with your colors, how can you go wrong?

If you like champagne cocktails, can the bartender come up with one that coordinates with your wedding colors?

@Miss Root: I think I’m stuck with the ones they offer because of budget purposes.

Cham - Cham is yum but I never heard it called that. I think I’ve heard it called a Champagne Royale.

Pick the one that you really like and that you think will have the most appeal. Who cares if your drinks match your colors? :)
For me, I would pick the mojitos, because they are my fave.

They’re all so delicious! I would go with the bellini-tini because i love it, but if it were truly me in this situation I would probably go with mojitos cuz I gotta stay matching like that.

I love Cham Cham, but it’s very girly– I’d go with the mojitos to satisfy all genders and coordinate with you colors!

The bellini-tini would be my favorite. It’s something new to try.

Although people would go crazy with the mojitos, it is very time consuming to make and will cause a mess at the bar with all the muddling. If you pre-make them, they won’t taste the same and your guests might be dissapointed.

Kir Royal is classic and timeless.

@El Capataz: I was definitely worried about the time consuming part of the mojitos and thought pitchers wouldn’t taste the same. Good to know someone else thought that too!

As much as I love mojitos (hence the name), I agree that it may be too time consuming. I love champagne based drinks and I think it will work well even for your guests who aren’t big drinkers.

The mojito’s are excellent but you have to think abou the mint getting in all of your guess’s teeth. My vote is for the Cham Cham!!

I would go with the mojito as it is the most universally known and TRIPLE BONUS is that the colors match your wedding! I fully believe that the sig drink MUST match the wedding colors :) But I am a bit anal and matchy-matchy when it comes to weddings… so really, don’t mind me!
