Every Day is Sweetest Day…

September 29th, 2009 @ 12:41 pm by Mrs. Parfait

… when I’m with Mr. Parfait.

I found this on my car one chilly morning:

Every Day is Sweetest Day… : wedding relationships 16 car1

Mr. Parfait is a connoisseur of car frost art and mirror fog art.

I wish I took more pictures of the romantic and silly things he’s drawn and written on my windows. In the winter, he drew a heart on my windshield, and it stayed there for months… until the inside of the windshield got completely covered in frost one morning (how does that happen?!), and we had to scrape it clean. We also draw on friends’ car windows when we sit in the back seat. Just a warning. ;)

I saw a picture from someone’s wedding at Amelia Lyon Photography that reminded me of Mr. Parfait’s sweet works of art:

Every Day is Sweetest Day… : wedding relationships 23 car2

Our families and friends don’t have any traditions of decorating getaway cars, and I’m not crazy about the cans dragging on the ground. But I would love to have messages from friends written on the windows and mirrors of our car! Or maybe I could wield the window marker myself to surprise Mr. Parfait. Now that I think about it, this kind of surprise does not need to wait until our wedding day…

If you had a choice (as in, if you could avoid having your bridal party swaddle your car in plastic wrap and streamers), how would you want your getaway car to be decorated?

ehhh, not really. cuz i’d be the one who’d have to clean it up! of course, that thought apparently doesn’t stop me from decorating my bestie’s getaway car. but they really liked that we did that.

We didn’t expect a decorated getaway car bc we didn’t decide on transportation until the day before the wedding, but the friend that drove us had the bridal party make signs and use window chalk to draw things on the windows! It was sweet.

No decorations! My family tends to get out of hand with this tradition. We are both thinking of hiding our cars out at a friend’s house.

um, it’s been a year and a half since our wedding, and still find an occasional speck of blue window paint on our car. :-) But it was still really fun, and I liked that people waved and honked at us all during our honeymoon because they knew we were just married! :)

Awww, maybe like how we found our bed in the hotel room? Covered in Hershey’s kisses! :-)

Adorable!! You just prompted to me check and see when sweetest day actually is.
October 17th for those of you that are wondering.

I am really dreading having my car covered in crap on my wedding day…hopefully it doesn’t happen!

I think a sweet little “Just Married” sign would be great, but no cans, bottles, etc rattling off the back of the car!! I think the idea of people writing on the car is cute!! That’s so sweet that
Mr. Parfait does that for you!!! :)

We’re car buffs over here. So umm anything more than a cardboard sign in the rear window could count as defacing the car. I don’t want to spend my wedding night at the car wash. :)

Also we’re renting a classic car for the getaway from the church and umm yeah, I am not paying for any damage to that thing. Groomsmen beware! ;)

The people who would be responsible for decorating our car know me well enough to know that I’d go Bridezilla on their butts! lol I’d appreciate a sign or something cute, but if there’s something I have to peel or wash off my car I wouldn’t be impressed. I guess I’m just not that fun lol

PS. Your FI is sweet :)

That’s so sweet. I’d love anything that wouldn’t make it smell, ruin paint, or that I’d have to put a lot of effort getting it off.

For my uncle’s wedding, they filled his car full of open sardine cans and unwrapped condoms. It smelled SOOO badly. Latex and fishy… ughghhh

that’s so sweet of him! i would have loved to have our car decorated with a cute little sign saying ‘Recién casados’ (that’s ‘Newlyweds’), but none of our friends thought of it!

@Mrs. Bruschetta: My MOH did something very similar! Since we all rode the charter bus back to the hotel, they couldn’t really decorate that. They did decorate with “candles” though to give it some ambiance. The used the battery operated flicker candles, and had someone’s gf turn them on and help set it up while we were taking our pre-wedding photos.

@rachelpete: YES, waving and honking…that’s what I want! :D

@Mrs. Bruschetta: Aww, that’s really sweet~~

@HugsKissesLadyBugsBride: and @RecessionistaBride: Heehee, the guy knows how to win points. :) And I agree, a simple sign would be cute and mess-free!

@fiftyfootbride: OMG, your poor uncle and aunt! So terrible…but so funny. :)

i wasn’t expecting anything, although cars in India get fully decorated with flowers. Two of my sneaky bridesmaids got away from the party to vandalize .. i mean decorate the husband’s car. it was a sweet surprise! :)
