Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.

Belly Band

September 30th, 2009 @ 5:34 pm by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

Normally I avoid anything with the word “belly” in it. But, I love invitation belly bands! They are so adorable to me, and a perfect way to wrap up all the important paper in an invitation. I plan to use them for our save the dates to keep the picture magnet on the invitation. Here are some samples of belly bands:

Or, you could get really creative like this invite did:

I think I’m going to just use a stamp so that I don’t have to worry about printing. Now to figure out what I want the stamp to look like.

Did you find a creative way to keep your paper products tidy in their envelopes?

We acutally have a layered look to our invites, but now that I look at those belly bands, that might be a nice touch..!

I love these pix! I originally wanted some elaborate fabric pocket or book binding to hold everything together, but I’ve converted. Bellybands are so much simpler…and still cute!

I used raffia and tied it in a little knot! the loose edges were simple and didn’t require a lot of work, but it did the job!

We used lined envelopes, and so it was a really snug fit — no need for belly bands, though these are adorable :-)

We’re using a belly band made out of old maps. We have a travel theme.. it just holds everything together perfectly! The name isn’t the best though lol

I love the belt one… haha :)

I’m using a belly band too, for our boxed invitations!! There will be a starfish or sand dollar glued to the belly band!! Can’t wait to start that project.

Daintree Paper do bands that look a bit like an obi sash when finished - they use japanese papers for the wide band with a thin ribbon tied over the top
Perfect if you want a japanese touch

when i was designing our invitations, i had that very first image in my inspiration folder!! we ended up doing a belly band with a green sheer ribbon and our monogram in the front.

Lol. I love the belt. :)
I like the look of knotted embroidery floss or twine, myself. Kind of like how Miss Apple Cider tied twine around her inner envelopes…very simple but with visual interest. I think that’s what we’re going to do. ^_^
