Mrs. Sunbeam, San Francisco/Grove City, PA
Age and Occupation: 26, Grad Student & Office Manager
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Motion Designer
Engagement Date: May 10, 2008
Wedding Date: September 2009
Venue: Harbison Chapel & The Maple Lane Farm
About Me: Mr. Sunbeam and I are high school sweethearts. We both come from a small town in PA but are growing to love the California lifestyle. He loves wine and I love cheese... the perfect combination! When I'm not drooling over wedding blogs, I'm attending grad school, out being a foodie, or attempting to "walk" our cat at the park. Two things guaranteed to excite me are wedding cakes and breaking out my suitcase to travel. Mr. Sunbeam and I are personalizing our hometown wedding to celebrate our high school sweetheart status and PA roots with a few CA touches. After ten years of dating we couldn't be more excited to call each other husband and wife!
Two Sundays ago I went for yet another hair trial. When I say another, I mean this will be my second of three hair trials. Yes, you heard me. Three hair trials, followed by the final ‘do. When I think about my wedding day hair I just don’t know what I want, and it’s worth the money to me to go in and find out what works and what doesn’t. This time I had gone to a Salon called Edo in San Francisco to have some fun with my hair.

About Me: I’m your average computer geek marrying a gaming geek and trying to find a good balance of elegance and geek chic in our wedding. I adore The Sims, Nintendo, cosplay, (good) music, TiVo, theme parks, and our two crazy felines.
Previously: Paris | Lake Como | Venice
And now for the conclusion to our great European adventure!
The train ride from Venice to Florence was long (about three to four hours) but, thankfully, a straight-shot. The train started out relatively empty, but filled up at each of the stops along the way.

Mrs. Lamb, Norfolk
Age and Occupation: 25, Homeland Security Consultant
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Graduate Student
Engagement Date: January 2009
Wedding Date: January 2010
Venue: Trinity Presbyterian Church/Harrison Opera House
About Me: I’m a Homeland Security Consultant with a tendency towards pulling office pranks, taking lunch breaks, and drinking Wawa shakes. I’m also an English major with a serious obsession with alliteration and rhymes. While I’m not keeping America safe, I’m training for half marathons and the Escape from Alcatraz swim. Or moving for the third time this year. Or baking. Or wedding crafting. Or crying about wedding planning. All the while, I’m getting myself into Lucille Ball-esque scrapes and making Jim Carey-esque faces. Our big fat Czech/Baptist/Jewish/Italian wedding is a combination of vintage eclectic, DIY, and little spoonful of sugar from our Event Coordinator. It’s going to be a Norfolk flavored wedding with the verve of an only-daughter-blow-out bash!
So Miss Snapdragon wrote about her van Gogh inspired wedding ideas and I really identified with her. Since I began to have serious grown-up dreams about my wedding, I’ve always associated my ideas with a particular painting. Snappy’s van Gogh happens to be my John Singer Sargent.
My favorite painting of his, “Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose”, embodied what I felt like was a perfect, ethereal, Gatsby-esque, summer, dream wedding. I wanted fireflies, gardens, and those gorgeous lanterns.

Since I’m decidedly not having a summer, garden wedding, I’ve gone back to Sargent for more inspiration.

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, High School History Teacher
Engagement Date: June 24, 2008
Wedding Date: August 2009
Venue: Eastside Catholic Chapel and Lake Union Cafe
About Me: I'm a Seattle girl through and through except for the fact that I don't drink coffee. I love my job most of the time because I get to travel and work with brilliant people who are trying to prevent Malaria. I love DIY projects of all sorts, cooking, and watching sports. I'd wear anything at Anthropologie and could spend all day on Etsy. I love to travel but shouldn't because I always get myself into unbelievable situations!
The bachelorette was a mixed bag of fun and torture. No, I wasn’t ask to carry inflatable “boy parts” or made to get some guy to give me his underpants. It wasn’t torture because they made me wear a crown and sash (that wasn’t bad). It was because it was hot. I mean HOT! The bachelorette party took place on the hottest day of the Seattle heat wave where temperatures reached 105 degrees. I know. That’s not crazy hot. But what’s crazy is that air conditioning in Seattle doesn’t exist. The heat was torture, but the night was fun.
We started the night at Baguette Box, my favorite sandwich place. I mentioned it before. They do a modern twist of the traditional Vietnamese bahn mi. The shop closes at 5PM, so my sister arranged for us to have it after hours. We even got to bring in our own wine. Just thinking about the crispy organic tofu with avocado baguette (braised coconut juice tofu + aioli + pickled daikon + red onion) is making me hungry.
We only had about 10 people, but it was great. It was such a good mix of people from different stages of my life. I only wish my friend Katie from grad school and Claire from Russia could have made it.
After dinner, we piled into cars and headed to Pike Place Market. No, we weren’t going for the produce.

Mrs. Ramen, Phoenix
Age and Occupation: 26, Optometry Student
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Industrial Designer
Engagement Date: January 3, 2009
Wedding Date: December 19, 2009
Venue: Phoenix Art Museum
About Me: I'm an SF-born, Seattle-raised girl, transplanted to Phoenix where I'll be getting married, and planning all the way from Orange County where I go to school (yes, it feels as crazy as it sounds). I loooooove Yogurtland, am slightly very obsessed with all things paper, am heavily addicted to wedding blogs, deeply desire a puppy, thoroughly enjoy cooking, cry when I watch (almost all) movies, thrive on solo car-karaoke, can't stop being sarcastic, am neurotic about taking pictures of almost everything I eat before I eat it, and aspire to travel the world. My super-talented fiance and I are attempting to DIY a majority of our massive (~350 guests) "clean & modern, yet romantic, but completely unexpected, with a teeny dash of vintage" wedding, stay within our not-so-massive budget, and somehow get a really luxe (but still fun!) look/feel at the same time. In music terms (since we're both really into music) think Coldplay meets Motown meets Kanye meets Sinatra.
I have this problem. My brain runs a mile a minute (I think most female minds are like this), and my tongue can’t keep up, and I end up smushing words together. This can be either really funny or terribly embarrassing, or sometimes a bit of both. For example, I was once trying to say “pop my pimple” (I’m not sure why I was saying that to anyone…) but it came out as “pimp my Popple“. Am I the only one who had a Popple? I loved that little thing!
So, what does that have to do with blogging? Um, nothing, aside from my feeble attempt to explain WHY I haven’t written about very basic wedding minutiae like:
- Our wedding color
- What flowers/florist we’re using
- Our wedding cake choice
- HOW I met Mr. Ramen!
- Have I mentioned that sister Ramen/MOH is actually getting married about 6 months after I do??? That’s another story for another day.
So, I’m going to be kind and rewind and try to update you on these small yet significant details, starting with COLORS! Being in optometry school, I could totally be a nerd and explain colors to you, BUT I will spare you the boredom and effort of scrolling through a boring post to get to some PICTURES (my sister said she only looks at posts with pictures. SIGH).

Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas
Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader
Engagement Date: March 19, 2009
Wedding Date: April 2010
Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas
About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
What will we do for the big send off? Your guess is as good as mine. I have some ideas of things we’re considering, but nothing is a definite yet.
I like the idea of petals.

Wedding Date: September 2009
Venue: The Marvimon House
About Me: I'm a Bay Area native trying to create a life for myself (and my fiance, and our three cats!) in the vast city of Los Angeles. I love vegan red velvet cupcakes, pilates ,and mid-century furniture. Mr. Sprinkle and I met when my band toured through his city (we bonded over cake and a mutual love of Morrissey) and we are getting married on the four year anniversary of our first date. When I am not teaching preschool (or blogging!) you can find me perfecting recipes, petting kittens, hiking in Griffith Park, and overusing exclamation points. We are planning a vegan, green-as-possible, DIY wedding, and I couldn't be more excited to share all of the details!

We just got back to our disastrously messy house after being in 3 airports for 14 hours, but when I saw that a few of our pro photos were ready, I just had to put up a little sneak peek!

Is it weird to feel more secure in your relationship during the tough times?
If so, then I’m definitely weird. No, wait. I’m definitely weird, either way. But that’s a different post for a different day.
As it always does, life has been busy handing us a heaping helping of GOOD and BAD. Only lately it seems like the GOOD and BAD have been thrown at us in rapid-fire succession and my head is spinning so fast that I can’t keep up with my own emotions.
We are officially 20 days away from being married (eek!), but my focus has been all over the place trying to keep up with the GOOD and the BAD in our lives lately.

Mr. Cupcake and I are both old souls, and we hope to weave that aspect of our personalities into our wedding day.

One year ago today, I married my best friend.

Engagement Date: May 20, 2009
Wedding Date: November 2009
Venue: Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (LaCoste, TX) and Mary Gray Events Center (Castroville, TX)
About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, but after college I moved to Seattle for a couple of years and loved it. Then I followed my beau out here to LA and we're getting settled in. I've been making things since I can remember. I was raised by crafters. I love to sew, draw, paint, build, cook, bake (anything with a tangible end result is fair game). In that same spirit, I've been hosting since I was old enough to cook and set a fancy table. I kind of take after my grandmother, who believes that your morning OJ always tastes better out of the good crystal.

These will be more of a filler for our flower wall. They are quick, easy, and made of yellow and white trace paper. There are a bunch of similar tutorials out there on the web, and many of you may already be familiar with the process. My only comment is that trace paper is stiffer than tissue paper and you don’t need as many layers.

Mrs. Cowboy Boot, Santa Fe
Age and Occupation: 25, Magazine Editor
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Artist and Whitewater Rafting Guide
Engagement Date: April 28th, 2008
Wedding Date: October 2009
Venue: Devil's Thumb Ranch, Colorado
About Me: I grew up in Los Angeles and have since lived in San Diego, Boston, Italy, Hawaii, New York City, and Santa Fe. I speak Italian and love pasta. My real passion is the outdoors, though. When I'm not at work, I'm snowboarding, hiking with my two dogs, mountain biking, surfing, cross-country-skiing, or boating New Mexico's rivers. Despite my boyish love for adventure, I'm a girly-girl at heart and am overly-excited to pull off the romantic, vintage-inspired, country wedding of my dreams.
Where have I been? At home. Snipping and sorting and stamping nearly everything in site. Our DIY projects are heading towards home plate and I need to get them done in the next two weeks. Luckily, most of them are already dusting the catcher, and only a few of them are still on third base. (Note: No idea where these baseball analogies came from.)
Here’s a sneak peek at some of what I’ve been working on (although the images below are just inspiration, they’re not of my actual projects):
1) A picture wall–but instead of pictures of only us, we’ll be hanging pictures of us with our guests with clothespins.
