Mrs. French Bulldog, Orange CountyAge and Occupation: 28, Administrative Assistant & Interior Design StudentFiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Purchasing AnalystEngagement Date: November 8, 2008Wedding Date: August 2009Venue: Bernardo WineryAbout Me: I've lived in Atlanta, Dallas and Laguna Niguel; although I've lived in Orange County, CA most my life, I'm a Southerner at heart. I work full time for a Commercial General Contractor (aka my father) and I go to school for Interior Design at night. I love modern design, music, wine, crafting, DMailing, my family, my Westies, and of course, Mr Frenchie! Mr Frenchie and I met 3 years ago on Match.com and have been best friends ever since. I love his "old soul" and how he laughs with his whole body, among many other things. We are planning our summer wedding at the winery near his hometown, just 45 minutes south of Orange County.
Joe Simon, Austin, TXVendor: VideographyWebsite: Joe Simon Wedding FilmsAbout Me: We love to film, travel and meet new people, and somehow we stumbled into the most amazing job that lets us do all this! I'm Joe Simon, and I run Joe Simon Wedding Films based in Austin Texas. This upcoming year will mark my 10th year of wedding filmmaking. We have been blessed to be able to shoot with couples that are fans of our work, and they continue to inspire us to create awesome films.
Weddingbee’s Mr. and Mrs. Kitten were married on Grand Cayman Island on April 4, 2009.
We shot for three days over the event and captured so many great moments. The wedding was held at the Grand Old House on Grand Cayman Island. It had an amazing outdoor deck that ended at the water’s edge. Every day there was a beautiful sunrise and sunset which added to the great island atmosphere.
Mr. and Mrs. Kitten wanted a modern and unique wedding film that had both HD and Super 8mm film. We blended them together during editing to give the film a vintage twist. Here is their highlights film.
Mrs. Hot Cocoa, Boston/Los AngelesAge and Occupation: 31, JD/PhD StudentFiance's Age and Occupation: 32, Medical StudentEngagement Date: May 30, 2008Wedding Date: March, 2009Blogging Since: April, 2008Venue: Ritz Carlton, Marina Del ReyAbout Me:
I am a professional student by day and an amateur cupcake taster, bargain shopper, and wedding planner by night. I am obsessed with NPR, the Food Network, paper, dance shows, Anthropologie, post-structuralist theory, Weddingbee!, "The Office," and celebrity gossip. When not procrastinating from my dissertation, I spend time catering to Jellyby, our overly anxious shih tzu, and getting to know Mr. Hot Cocoa. We have only been dating for fifteen years, so it's like I'm in love with a stranger! From the East Coast, we are planning a Jewish-Chinese Extravaganza in L.A., where we both grew up.
Hellooo (shy wave)! I’m Mrs. Hot Cocoa, and I used to blog here. Sorry I disapparated into the void (a.k.a. the new house we just bought and moved into). After a month of constructing IKEA furniture with unpronounceable names and learning to do homeownerish things like mow the lawn and fix the boiler, I’m back to pick up where we left off: bride and groom portraits.
I know, I know. NOT exciting. But I thought I’d let you in on the secret of what actually was happening while we were shooting our seemingly oh-so-romantic portraits. Read more…
Mrs. Chick, HoustonAge and Occupation: 28, Rights and Reproduction ManagerFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Computer ProgrammerEngagement Date: November 15, 2008Wedding Date: April 2010Venue: A farm outside of HoustonAbout Me: Mr. Chick and I met almost ten years ago at Baker Blues, a college jazz party. He was attracted to my intensity, and I was mesmerized by his trivia pursuit skills and his dorm furniture adorned with his initials. We've grown more sophisticated through the years, with our love of wine, owning a house together, and parenthood (of a cat), but we have not lost our silliness or childish sense of humor!
Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, DallasAge and Occupation: 28, Special Projects CoordinatorFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity TraderEngagement Date: March 19, 2009Wedding Date: April 2010Venue: Marie Gabrielle, DallasAbout Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
I realized I haven’t even told you how the whole engagement happened. Well, sit back my friends, here begins the story…
Texas is a weird state when it comes to politics (in more ways than one, but let me bite my tongue), and we only have a legislative session every other year. During that time, I find myself much busier at work and a hell of a lot more stressed. Well, on our engagement day I was at the pinnacle of my stress level. I emailed Mr. Fro Yo to say, “Watch out, I’m in one of those moods.” He took it in stride and said we should spend a night with just the two of us and some sushi takeout from our favorite restaurant. I could immediately feel some of the stress melting away, and in true state worker fashion, I watched the clock tick by until it was time for me to go.
We did all the typical things we do after work: took doggie Fro Yo to the hiking trails, watched some stock (as in the stock exchange) programs on CNBC (for Mr. Fro Yo’s work), and watched Mr. Fro Yo take in an extraordinary amount of protein (he’s a big time work out guy, and he eats multiple cans of tuna and egg whites every day). Then we went to pick up our sushi. I stayed in the kitchen to feed our dog, and Mr. Fro Yo went to set everything up. He discreetly placed the ring in a California roll and covered it up with a napkin. I sat down hungry for some sushi and snatched the napkin right off. Underneath, I saw the most gorgeous engagement ring: Read more…

I grew up in Southern California, went to high school in Texas, grad school in New Mexico, and now I can't wait to settle down in Oregon! I love pears, hazelnuts,
knitting, traveling, running, baking, and long talks on the phone with
good friends. I'm planning my Oregon coast summer camp wedding while
abroad with my best friend - I'm always at home when I'm with him!
By the time you’re reading this, I’ll probably be on a plane… TO WEDDING LAND!!!
So as I leave my adoptive country for my month-o-bliss, I’d like to give special thanks to my friends in La Serena - the ones Mr. Bear Cub and I live with (in a fishbowl of expats!), the ones we work with (in the same fishbowl…), and the ones who care about us enough to throw us a surprise wedding shower!!!

Then I followed my beau out here to LA and we're getting settled in. I've been making things since I can remember. I was raised by crafters. I love to sew, draw, paint, build, cook, bake (anything with a tangible end result is fair game). In that same spirit, I've been hosting since I was old enough to cook and set a fancy table. I kind of take after my grandmother, who believes that your morning OJ always tastes better out of the good crystal.
We had our civil ceremony mini-wedding in July, and it was quite enjoyable. We were at Point Dume in Malibu. We experienced some huge waves and it was a bit overcast. Fog doesn’t look as good in pictures, but it would have been sweltering in the sun. Read more…
Miss Dew Drop, San FranciscoAge and Occupation: 31, AttorneyFiance's Age and Occupation: 35, Managerial Type at an Internet CompanyEngagement Date: December 12, 2008
Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: Ralston Hall MansionAbout Me: I'm a food-and-baking-obsessed, occasionally sword wielding Bay Area native who is quickly becoming overwhelmed with planning a wedding and opening a law practice at the same time. (Brilliant move, that one.) I love reading, online shopping, ice cream, my Macbook, Bollywood movies, hoodies, the UCLA Bruins, and of course, Mr. Dew Drop.
Mr. DD’s favorite food is cheese, and mine is ice cream.
Yes, we’re very pro-dairy around the Dew Drop household.
Clearly we needed to incorporate our love of dairy products into our wedding. But how? We briefly considered just tying a cow outside the venue door, but, of course, I was concerned about the cow clashing with our theme and colors. It’s wrong to paint a cow turquoise and gold, right? Not to mention difficult to get the cow to stay still…
Mrs. Cloud, RichmondAge and Occupation: 25, Sales RepFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Customer Service Manager/DJEngagement Date: February 14, 2008Wedding Date: November 2009Venue: Cathedral of the Sacred Heart & The Jefferson HotelAbout Me: Mr. Cloud and I are Yankees planning a Southern wedding to show our families from Boston and New York our fabulous city. We are complete opposites, resulting in a wedding to include bridesmaids in pearls and groomsmen in Adidas shell toes. I’m a sorority girl at heart with strong addictions to my blackberry, cherry Chapstick, Coach purses, the Boston Red Sox and our fur baby, Bella. I can’t wait to the throw the party of our lives and of course, marry my best friend!
Everyone knows that after the bride, the mothers of the bride and groom have the biggest task when picking out what they are going to wear. Well, at least everyone involved in our wedding knows that. The bridesmaids were a piece of cake, and the boys are in tuxes… simple, simple. But in Mama Cloud’s case in particular, we have been going back and forth on details for a while. In fact, she purchased a total of FOUR dresses that she thought might be the one (the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, I guess). One of them did turn out to be perfect. It is stunning on her, and you can just tell she feels good in it too. The dress has already been handed over for alterations, and we didn’t manage to get any good pictures before it went, but I did track a picture down of something that was very similar. Just imagine this in a beautiful blue-green color instead of chocolate brown, and at the side where the gathering meets, a pretty silvery broach. Trust, it is gorgeous.
Perfect dress, check. Now accessories are needed, and we are stuck. Read more…

Engagement Date: December 31, 2008Wedding Date: November 2009Venue: Whitfield Square/Savannah StationAbout Me: I'm working on my second degree from UGA (Go Dawgs!). I'm a self-proclaimed attention-w****. If it involves a camera, I'm in front of it! You'll never meet a girlier tomboy than me. I can go toe to toe with any guy on the subject of college football, and lift more than any girl in my gym, all without chipping a nail. I hope to someday be the only person you want delivering your sports news. My FI and I are the loving parents of three Labrador Retrievers (one of each color) and are planning a "Southern Romantic Charm" wedding in the beautiful, historic city of Savannah. I'm not extreme in anything except moderation... and wedding planning.
Okay, okay. I know I’ve pretty much bailed on you guys in the last few weeks, but I’ve had many good reasons! You’re thinking, “Yeah, they BETTER be good reasons.” Well, let me explain myself before you call in the mobs to burn me at the Weddingbee stake!
First, my final semester of classes began. Along with that came work where I routinely put in 25-40 hours a week, depending on how many shifts I could pick up with my already crazy schedule.
But that’s the mundane stuff. I’ve also been living it up some!
Like a day at the beach and a boat ride in Savannah with my soon-to-be family. It was a nice end to my summer full of unpaid, overworked time at internships.
“Tanning” with FSIL Lab. And by “tanning” I mean 80 SPF, big sunglasses, and an even bigger hat. This Bud Light “Real Men of Genius” was obviously written about me (aside from the “man” part).

I love crafting, blogging, laughing and dreaming. I know every word to the Anne of Green Gables and Little Women movies. I own every single Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine and have been dreaming of weddings since I was little. I believe life is about doing what makes you happy. If you aren't happy re-evaluate what you are doing. You should never look back on your life and not be proud of what you are doing. If you want to travel - travel. If you want to sing - sing. I have been given a great gift by one of my BM’s mothers! She wanted to throw me a shower or a luncheon, but I thought there must be something different that we could do. Mrs. Greene (my BM’s mom) is an amazing woman. For years in college she hosted get-togethers at her home and made delicious meals and yummy desserts. She has an amazing kitchen, and loves to be in it. I asked Mrs. Green if she would consider helping me with my DIY Candy Bar the week before the wedding. SHE SAID YES! So, a few days before the wedding, we are planning to get together at her home for a day or baking, candy making, and more.
I am so excited about what we are going to put on the candy bar, but I will share that a bit later. I have spent months trying to determine how our guests will get their candy home. I had a few ideas, ranging from baker’s boxes, to cellophane bags.
Finally this weekend, I decided to go a simple, cheap, DIY route, and I am super excited about how the treat bags turned out. Read more…

I love living with Mr. Peep and our animals: Huck the Dog and Ferris the Cat. I work to save the environment in San Francisco, while Mr. Peep makes ridiculously delicious Olive Oil. On any day you can find me reading the latest book I have gotten my hands on, eating Swedish Fish, and perusing wedding blogs! We are both champagne drinking foodies on a Bud Light budget. We are planning an eco-chic, intimate, and interfaith San Francisco City wedding.
I was really bummed that we had to leave our cocktail party. In fact, it might be my biggest regret of the day. BUT, it did mean that I got some alone time with my new husband (that is, if you call being followed by a photographer and her assistant being alone).
Out of all the shots that were taken, my favorite ones were the ones we took when we weren’t taking ourselves too seriously.
Because after our saccharine sweet ceremony, we just wanted to have fun: Read more…
Mrs. Ramen, PhoenixAge and Occupation: 26, Optometry StudentFiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Industrial DesignerEngagement Date: January 3, 2009Wedding Date: December 19, 2009Venue: Phoenix Art MuseumAbout Me: I'm an SF-born, Seattle-raised girl, transplanted to Phoenix where I'll be getting married, and planning all the way from Orange County where I go to school (yes, it feels as crazy as it sounds). I loooooove Yogurtland, am slightly very obsessed with all things paper, am heavily addicted to wedding blogs, deeply desire a puppy, thoroughly enjoy cooking, cry when I watch (almost all) movies, thrive on solo car-karaoke, can't stop being sarcastic, am neurotic about taking pictures of almost everything I eat before I eat it, and aspire to travel the world. My super-talented fiance and I are attempting to DIY a majority of our massive (~350 guests) "clean & modern, yet romantic, but completely unexpected, with a teeny dash of vintage" wedding, stay within our not-so-massive budget, and somehow get a really luxe (but still fun!) look/feel at the same time. In music terms (since we're both really into music) think Coldplay meets Motown meets Kanye meets Sinatra.
Yes. It’s the truth. Somewhere on Weddingbee, many many moons ago, I saw a DIY craft that one of the bees did to ask her friends to be her bridesmaids (I forget who). I thought it was a GRRREAT idea. So I did it, too. With my own little spin, of course. I bought the accordion book kits (~$5) from Paper Source (AKA, a girl’s best friend, AKA my mothership), and some pretty paper from the Paper Studio in Tempe, and got to work! Read more…

I love my job most of the time because I get to travel and work with brilliant people who are trying to prevent Malaria. I love DIY projects of all sorts, cooking, and watching sports. I'd wear anything at Anthropologie and could spend all day on Etsy. I love to travel but shouldn't because I always get myself into unbelievable situations!
If I could turn back time and change some of our (non)vendor decisions, would I? It depends. Decisions as they relate to the ceremony? NO WAY! It was perfect. It was easy and carefree. The reception? Well, that’s another story.
Before I start, I want to say that I LOVE the Lake Union Café. Dann and Victoria are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. The staff? More of the same. The food? Can you say NOMNOMNOM? People actually sought me out during the reception to tell me it was the best wedding meal they had ever had. If Dann had not been there to keep the party moving, the reception would not have happened, period. That said, there are a few details I’d consider changing about our venue and reception.
First, I would have gone for the Friday night wedding, or actually tried to wait list us for a Saturday or Sunday night wedding. The space was lovely in the day, but at night, with the candles and view of the lake? Stunning. Plus, it would have been cooler. It was a little warm in there because of the heat wave that week.
Second, I would have hired a DJ. An iPod during the daytime equaled very little dancing. Read more…

Remember our kids’ table? Well, I started to think that having a communal box of crayons, markers, etc. might not be the best idea. I have 2 nieces, and when we dine out at restaurants and they provide just one box of crayons it’s mayhem. They are sweet girls, but sharing can sometimes be hard. And then I started to think, ‘Hmm…why not make kids’ kits?’ These kits will have everything a child would need to have a great time at the kids’ table (at least I can tell myself that).
