We are complete opposites, resulting in a wedding to include bridesmaids in pearls and groomsmen in Adidas shell toes. I’m a sorority girl at heart with strong addictions to my blackberry, cherry Chapstick, Coach purses, the Boston Red Sox and our fur baby, Bella. I can’t wait to the throw the party of our lives and of course, marry my best friend!
If you are like me, you have been following (and drooling endlessly over) Mrs. PowderPuff’sgorgeousrecaps. And in case you missed it, her bridesmaids had some ridiculously awesome dresses. So when I realized I needed yet another dress (not that I am complaining, of course) for the bridal tea I will be having the day before the wedding, Mrs. Powder Puff’s girls were there with the perfect solution. About a week ago I ordered Anthropologie’sBehind the Clouds dress. If the name isn’t a sign, then I just don’t know what is…
Mrs. Ramen, PhoenixAge and Occupation: 26, Optometry StudentFiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Industrial DesignerEngagement Date: January 3, 2009Wedding Date: December 19, 2009Venue: Phoenix Art MuseumAbout Me: I'm an SF-born, Seattle-raised girl, transplanted to Phoenix where I'll be getting married, and planning all the way from Orange County where I go to school (yes, it feels as crazy as it sounds). I loooooove Yogurtland, am slightly very obsessed with all things paper, am heavily addicted to wedding blogs, deeply desire a puppy, thoroughly enjoy cooking, cry when I watch (almost all) movies, thrive on solo car-karaoke, can't stop being sarcastic, am neurotic about taking pictures of almost everything I eat before I eat it, and aspire to travel the world. My super-talented fiance and I are attempting to DIY a majority of our massive (~350 guests) "clean & modern, yet romantic, but completely unexpected, with a teeny dash of vintage" wedding, stay within our not-so-massive budget, and somehow get a really luxe (but still fun!) look/feel at the same time. In music terms (since we're both really into music) think Coldplay meets Motown meets Kanye meets Sinatra.
… which means it was terrrrrrrrible. It was a long day of work, lectures, and practicing clinical skills. As is my habit after coming home, I switched my laptop on to check my email. I quickly scanned through the 10 or so new emails to see if there was anything noteworthy, or just another message from Victoria’s Secret telling me I could get a free pair of panties if I bought another bra. My eyes quickly stopped on one message that said “Weddingbee”. My heart stopped. I quickly opened it, hoping that it wasn’t a rejection note.
“Ohhmygooooooshhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I’m going to be a bee!” I gleefully announced to my fiance. His response: “SIGHHHHHHHH. Do you promise to stop being obsessed with Weddingbee after our wedding, now?” And all I could do was just giggle with joy, which is odd, because I am definitely NOT the giggly nor gleeful type. Best Monday ever, hands down.
With all that said, I am seriously thrilled that I was chosen to be a bee! I have been following Weddingbee for.ev.er. No really - since it was just a “featured site” on Xanga. I am a faithfully addicted reader (hence, the comment by my poor fiance), and have been inspired many times over by the wonderful now-Mrs. bees. I always thought that I would apply to WB once I got engaged; but I was struck by the selfish monster, and really wanted to keep all my ideas and spin-offs (what I call “my creations” that were inspired by far more creative crafting mamas) to myself. Sad, I know. At any rate, through the past several months of being engaged, I realized that I actually liked to share my ideas, tips, and experiences. So, I decided to stop hoarding and start sharing and caring… and now I’m here!

Mrs. Star, New York CityAge and Occupation: 22, ActressFiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Casting AssistantWedding Date: October 2009Venue: Ceremony: The Kraine Theatre, Reception: Midtown Loft & TerraceAbout Me: I’m a professional actress who’s always had New York City in her blood and I'm finally getting the chance to make a home in Manhattan with my fiancé, my dog, and my big dreams! I love polka dots, craft projects, Dunkin’ Donuts’ iced coffee, and anything sparkly. I’m having a blast planning our elegant/dramatic/New York City/acting-themed/largely-DIY wedding and am thrilled to be the youngest current Miss Blogger!
There are a lot of perks that go along with being the oldest child: scoring a later bedtime, never having to wear hand-me-downs, getting the bigger bedroom… the list goes on, I’m sure.
There are also definite downsides: getting blamed for something that your little brother actually did, the strict rules you have to follow as a teenager that your sibling ends up somehow getting out of, and, when you add into the mix the deadly combo of a young-ish bride and a young-ish groom, you get Super Duper Wedding Trailblazer status.
Kimberly Canale, Brooklyn, NYVendor: Event DesignerWebsite: Inspired GoodnessAbout Me: From the moment the engagement ring was slipped onto my finger, I've been in love with all-things-wedding. I still get teary eyed reading proposal stories in magazines and love sneaking a peek at a bride and groom glancing at one another for the first time, as the ceremony is about to begin. With each of my clients, I get to know their personality, family background and hear the story of how they met and fell in love. Each piece becomes another element from which I use to build the overall vision for their wedding day.
As the Creative Director at Inspired Goodness, my job is to create the various details that makes each of our weddings come to life. My work incorporates classic elements; engraving, hand calligraphy and vintage typography. Using a mix of found objects and flea market pieces lends a rich history to my work and challenges me to find creative ways to use mass-produced elements, each with a chic and timeless result.
With every new client, I get to explore avenues I've yet to pass and love knowing that the next adventure is just around the corner!
I have to admit that while this wasn’t an original idea of mine, I loved the idea of adding this simple and personalized embellishment to my wedding shoes. If you’re not able to spend the $75 Stuart Weitzman charges for this same service, you can easily tackle this project yourself. That said, I’ve put together this little step-by-step tutorial to help you recreate this same look.
It’s a fun way to incorporate a little something blue into your ensemble and guests love asking to peek at the bit of bling you have on you. You may have seen this idea before when I decorated shoes for Mrs. Cupcake’s wedding.

Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, DallasAge and Occupation: 28, Special Projects CoordinatorFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity TraderEngagement Date: March 19, 2009Wedding Date: April 2010Venue: Marie Gabrielle, DallasAbout Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
I have been dying to write a post with that title. We met with one of my bridesmaid’s sisters who is a budding photog in Austin to take some pictures right near South Congress. I think she did such a great job, and I felt so comfortable with her because I’ve known her for about 15 years.
Miss LB is selling her size 8 Monique Lhuillier dress. It is made of ivory French Alencon lace with a strapless sweetheart neckline. She’s asking $1000, but is open to offers.

Miss Dew Drop, San FranciscoAge and Occupation: 31, AttorneyFiance's Age and Occupation: 35, Managerial Type at an Internet CompanyEngagement Date: December 12, 2008
Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: Ralston Hall MansionAbout Me: I'm a food-and-baking-obsessed, occasionally sword wielding Bay Area native who is quickly becoming overwhelmed with planning a wedding and opening a law practice at the same time. (Brilliant move, that one.) I love reading, online shopping, ice cream, my Macbook, Bollywood movies, hoodies, the UCLA Bruins, and of course, Mr. Dew Drop.
Okay, it wasn’t really like that. Let me start over.
Not too long ago while slouched over on the sectional in the living room, I decided to get my act together and figure out what kind of flowers I wanted for the wedding. Well, I already knew I wanted ruffly flowers, but that was about it. I briefly considered finding a clairvoyant florist, but figured it would be easier to put a little more thought into it. I didn’t really want to.
I’ve been worried about flowers since I got engaged. I know next to nothing about flowers. Maybe even less than nothing about flowers. No one I dated before Mr. DD ever really brought me flowers. Clearly I should have been dating more flower-conscious types.
But seriously–billy buttons, anemones, chocolate cosmos? What are those?? And why did it seem so time-consuming to try to figure it out? Rather, I am known for researching things to death. When you’re running out of planning time, this doesn’t quite work out. But what’s a wedding without flowers?
So I spent a couple of hours communing with flower pictures on the internet, and here’s what I came up with: Read more…
Mrs. Mary Jane, Grand Forks, NDAge and Occupation: 26, Instructional DesignerFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Lead ProgrammerEngagement Date: February 28, 2009Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: City HallAbout Me: I'm a career woman on the surface and a homemaker at heart. I love fast cars and high heels, and my favorite food is cake. Mr. Mary Jane and I are both full-time employees and students, and we just bought our first house. We love to curl up on the couch with buttery popcorn, Sour Patch Kids, and the latest Netflix arrival -- whenever we can get a break from everyday life.
I decided very recently that the pearl necklace I’d planned to wear — while absolutely lovely — just wasn’t fitting my “look”. A delicate white gold or sterling silver necklace was what I needed. After scouring various quick-shipping resources online, I came to the conclusion that I really liked the idea of wearing a peridot necklace. Peridot is not only Mr. MJ’s birthstone: it also matches the hue of my shoes and sash.
Alas, with the wedding day fast approaching, I couldn’t find anything online that’d be shipped quickly enough. And I couldn’t find a cheap solution at any local department or discount stores either. With Mr. Mary Jane’s encouragement, I hit up River City Jewelers (where we bought our rings). I spent a lot of money (well, a lot given that my budget for this was ummm, zero dollars) and picked out the exact shape, size, and color peridot I wanted. They ordered it, mounted it, and had it ready for me on Saturday!

I speak Italian and love pasta. My real passion is the outdoors, though. When I'm not at work, I'm snowboarding, hiking with my two dogs, mountain biking, surfing, cross-country-skiing, or boating New Mexico's rivers. Despite my boyish love for adventure, I'm a girly-girl at heart and am overly-excited to pull off the romantic, vintage-inspired, country wedding of my dreams.

Then I followed my beau out here to LA and we're getting settled in. I've been making things since I can remember. I was raised by crafters. I love to sew, draw, paint, build, cook, bake (anything with a tangible end result is fair game). In that same spirit, I've been hosting since I was old enough to cook and set a fancy table. I kind of take after my grandmother, who believes that your morning OJ always tastes better out of the good crystal.

I was born and raised in a small East Texas town, but I'm no country girl! I'm obsessed with British accents, fantasy (including Harry Potter, of course), and classic rock. My fiance and I consider ourselves both music and beer snobs--but every once in awhile we love to hear a crappy band and drink a cheap brew or two. We're planning an eco-friendly, casual, English garden affair for the end of summer, and we can't wait for it to get here!
One week before the wedding my MOH, my mom, and I decided to tackle the honey favors. It was a total assembly line, and the process went very smoothly.
My mom filled the test tubes with honey and corked them.

We can’t wait to be married, and are learning how fun getting married can be.
My husband and I debated our first dance song for weeks. I wanted romantic; he wanted fun. At some point, I gave in, figuring it would be less embarrassing to pick something fun and cheesy and join in the laughs than to sway and smooch with everyone watching.
So we chose “Islands in the Stream”. Oh, yea! Dolly (who is pretty loved around these parts) and Kenny singing the cheesiest song ever… and one that we both apparently sang as five year olds. With heart. Read more…
