Miss Onion, NYC/Burlington, VTAge and Occupation: 27, PR & Marketing and Jazz SingerFiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Data AnalystEngagement Date: April 2, 2006Wedding Date: September 2007Blogging Since: July 11, 2007Venue: Restaurant in BurlingtonAbout Me: I didn't think I'd be "that girl," but I am having so much fun planning our wedding (mostly by myself). I'm a PR and Marketing Director for a major jazz festival and camp by day, and by night, a romantic jazz singer and bride-to-be! I hope all my research can help other brides in their planning.
No, no — I’m not pregnant (although I’m thrilled with all the baby bees around here). In November of 2007 (just two months after we got married) I posted about searching for our first home. I was sure I didn’t want to live anywhere but Manhattan, just like I was sure I wanted lace on my wedding dress. Things don’t always work out how you first envisioned them… they usually end up even better! We bought our first apartment in Brooklyn and my wedding dress had no lace in sight!
Mrs. Moonbeam, Los Angeles/San AntonioAge and Occupation: 26, Intern ArchitectFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Studio Analyst, aspiring ScreenwriterEngagement Date: May 20, 2009Wedding Date: November 2009Venue: Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (LaCoste, TX) and Mary Gray Events Center (Castroville, TX)About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, but after college I moved to Seattle for a couple of years and loved it. Then I followed my beau out here to LA and we're getting settled in. I've been making things since I can remember. I was raised by crafters. I love to sew, draw, paint, build, cook, bake (anything with a tangible end result is fair game). In that same spirit, I've been hosting since I was old enough to cook and set a fancy table. I kind of take after my grandmother, who believes that your morning OJ always tastes better out of the good crystal.
We ordered my wedding ring today, but I won’t be wearing it until after the November wedding. But, I’ll be getting it in about a month. I know it will be so hard to not wear it until November, but the seller, suelane, was kind enough to let us know that prices would be going up soon (we had convo-ed her about it already), so we bought it a bit early. I want it now.
Did you order a custom piece for any of your rings? How long did it take for the ring to get to you from the time you ordered it?

Well once again Braedon of Braedon Photography has sent over the most fabulous wedding for us all to enjoy. Not only are the photos gorgeous but this wedding has such fabulous details I could not wait to share! The wedding took place at the grooms family vineyard in Napa. I love the backyard-chic vibe of this wedding. One of my favorite looks.
Mrs. Duckling, San DiegoAge and Occupation: 23, Psychology Grad Student, Youth Diversion Specialist/Marriage and Family Therapy Trainee and an Executive AssistantFiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Marketing and PR CoordinatorEngagement Date: May 17, 2008Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: Rancho Bernardo InnAbout Me: I'm currently living in Orange County, but planning our wedding in my hometown of San Diego. We are a DIY wedding "2fer", as I'm the crafty one and Mr. Ducky is in charge of all of our graphic design and technical aspects. When not wedding planning or reading wedding blogs, I'm attending grad school and rotating between two different jobs to keep things exciting. My favorite things include shoes, Post-Its, Labrador Retrievers, traveling, psychology, delicious food, photography, reading, craft gadgets/supplies, and of course, my wonderful Mr. Ducky!
Well tomorrow I get married, and officially become Mrs. Duckling. The last week has been pretty crazy, but now that everyone has arrived and all the crafts are done, Mr. Ducky and I are relaxing and enjoying each moment. There is so much I have yet to tell you about. I did about a million projects in the last week. Not to worry, I’ll catch up after my return. Our rehearsal went so smoothly yesterday and the dinner was at my house. I feel so blessed to have our amazing friends and family.
To the hive, I owe you a huge thanks. Being a part of the Weddingbee community and being able to share myself with you all has been one of the best parts of this process. I’ve felt so much joy, support and encouragement from each of you. Thanks for your comments; they seriously make the most stressful moments better. You each are a part of creating this amazing community called Weddingbee, that perhaps no one can fully understand until you are a part of it.
To the bees of past and present, you each have inspired me, and this wedding would not be the same without your tutorials, wisdom, pictures, and ultimately, your support and passion. Read more…

A Yooper girl somehow displaced in the Chicago suburbs, planning a wedding from a distance, and counting down the days until I marry my best friend.
Today is the day. The day we have been planning, stressing, and obsessing over for the past 14 months. The day that we’ve been waiting so patiently for during these past 8 years. I’ll never forget that day way back when we were teenagers, the day when we were talking on the phone, and the words “I love you” slipped out of your mouth. The day that I said, “I love you, too.” That day lead to this day, and there are many more wonderful days to come. Today is the day where we become a family, husband and wife, forever and ever, and I am so glad it is finally here.
Love you today and every day,
Holly

Mr. Sunbeam and I have been working hard trying to dig up some good music for our Mac/iPod powered wedding. We’ve come pretty far along, so it’s high time I share some tunes with you ladies!
Let’s begin with the ceremony as it stands today. We didn’t plan for it, but Yann Tiersen is playing a big role in this part of the music! The seating of the grandparents will be to Le Matin by Yann Tiersen.
Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, DallasAge and Occupation: 28, Special Projects CoordinatorFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity TraderEngagement Date: March 19, 2009Wedding Date: April 2010Venue: Marie Gabrielle, DallasAbout Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
I don’t think we’ll go with the traditional ring bearer pillows for our wedding. I’d like to do something different, and there are so many cute options available. I saw this in Martha Stewart Weddings and love it.
There was even a tutorial, but let’s be real, I don’t know how to sew, so the best I can do is go to Michaels, buy a pillow, a flower, and a hot glue gun. This could get messy. But I really like that I could essentially customize them for our wedding with any colors, flowers, etc. This also seems totally inexpensive. Read more…

Mrs. Sprinkle, Los AngelesAge and Occupation: 26, Preschool Teacher
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Television Production/WriterEngagement Date: December 24, 2008Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: The Marvimon HouseAbout Me: I'm a Bay Area native trying to create a life for myself (and my fiance, and our three cats!) in the vast city of Los Angeles. I love vegan red velvet cupcakes, pilates ,and mid-century furniture. Mr. Sprinkle and I met when my band toured through his city (we bonded over cake and a mutual love of Morrissey) and we are getting married on the four year anniversary of our first date. When I am not teaching preschool (or blogging!) you can find me perfecting recipes, petting kittens, hiking in Griffith Park, and overusing exclamation points. We are planning a vegan, green-as-possible, DIY wedding, and I couldn't be more excited to share all of the details!
You guys already know that I am making all of the cupcakes for our dessert buffet. So I guess I better tell you what else we are serving after dinner…
I LOVE sweets. Cakes, cupcakes, cookies, bars, ice cream, candy YUM. I rarely eat such things unless I bake them myself (you can’t walk into most places and order a vegan dessert), so this is such a special treat! We started off with a huge list of our favorite desserts and narrowed it down to these:
Dessert Buffet for 100 Guests! (all vegan)
Cupcakes:
Red Velvet Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting (30 full size, 12 mini)
Lemon Gem Cupcakes with Light Lemon Icing (30 full size, 12 mini)
Vanilla Cupcakes with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting (30 full size, 12 mini)
Cakes:
Vanilla Pound Cake with Fresh Strawberries (2 large pound cakes)
Amazing Apple Crisp (1 large crisp)
Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting (1 cake, double layer)
Black Chocolate Cake with Raspberries (1 cake, double layer)
Mrs. Chick, HoustonAge and Occupation: 28, Rights and Reproduction ManagerFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Computer ProgrammerEngagement Date: November 15, 2008Wedding Date: April 2010Venue: A farm outside of HoustonAbout Me: Mr. Chick and I met almost ten years ago at Baker Blues, a college jazz party. He was attracted to my intensity, and I was mesmerized by his trivia pursuit skills and his dorm furniture adorned with his initials. We've grown more sophisticated through the years, with our love of wine, owning a house together, and parenthood (of a cat), but we have not lost our silliness or childish sense of humor!
I (of course) love the idea of pinning a flower on a dress or making it into a belt, but so far I have been a little skeptical of the typical silk flowers we’ve all seen on Etsy and in the fabric stores. You know that smell when you first walk into Michaels? Not so pleasant, is it?
However, this lady really takes flower pins and belts to a new level. You can just tell she really loves what she does and she puts so much effort into her blog to bring the aesthetics of her work and her personality together. She has specialized vintage French velvet flowers, limited edition! Who does that? And you can tell she just loves what she does! Check out the Emerson Made blog and store.
Mrs. Swan, New York CityAge and Occupation: 31, Legislative RepresentativeFiance's Age and Occupation: 33, Finance GuyEngagement Date: August 9, 2008Wedding Date: August 2009Venue: Battery GardensAbout Me: I am an un-crafty but resourceful, Caribbean-born but New York-raised woman who's been known to analyze "Dancing with the Stars" and “So You Think You Can Dance”, buy stinky cheese, and use way too many parentheses. I keep lists for fun, am constantly daydreaming of my next international travel adventure (four continents down, three to go), debating sports (let’s Got Mets/Giants!) and dancing around my apartment to stay sane. I am excited to share our wedding planning journey as I hope to plan a streamlined, personal, and fun wedding with the greatest life partner I could ever imagine, Mr. Swan.
Doesn’t it look like there’s a mummy in my garment bag?
Well, my lovely dress is having a rest, and it has been sitting on the futon in our office for the almost four weeks that I have been married. Honestly, I don’t know what to do with it. I know that I need to get it cleaned, but what should my dress’ next life be?
There are obviously quite a few options for what I can do with my dress post-wedding: Read more…
Mrs. Meatball, HollywoodAge and Occupation: 30, Actor/Writer/Office MavenFiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Actor/WriterEngagement Date: October 7, 2007Wedding Date: May, 2009Blogging Since: September 16, 2008Venue: Private Garden/The Bungalow ClubAbout Me: I love melty cheese and diet coke almost as much as I love my man. I'm from Chicago, he's from NYC, and we both miss public transit and great pizza. We have an adorable muppet dog called Paco. I'm part hippie with a healthy dash of hip hop superstar, have excessive empathy for animals, and have not one, but two bionic eyes (long story). We're broke and it ain't no joke. It can't stop us from planning the bold and whimsical wedding of our dreams, but we've had to get pretty creative to make it work, yo!
Mad props go to the ever-fabulous and inspirational Emily from Once Wed for turning me on to Air B&B today. Air B&B is a vacation rental company that rents out some ultrafabby spaces, from private rooms to entire residences for PENNIES. Now, I’ve heard of couch-surfing before, but I’d much rather have my own space, especially if on a romantic vacation with my honey.
The site features listings that are reputation-based, allowing for comments and ratings by past renters, so you can get the dish before your commit. But chances are, you’re going to have a better experience than at a hotel, and you can cook your own meals for a double-savings bonus. This shiz is too good not to share!
Could you imagine honeymooning in one of these spots? I’m drooooooooling. They even have eco-options…. le swoon!
