Mrs. Mary Jane, Grand Forks, ND
Age and Occupation: 26, Instructional Designer
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Lead Programmer
Engagement Date: February 28, 2009
Wedding Date: September 2009
Venue: City Hall
About Me: I'm a career woman on the surface and a homemaker at heart. I love fast cars and high heels, and my favorite food is cake. Mr. Mary Jane and I are both full-time employees and students, and we just bought our first house. We love to curl up on the couch with buttery popcorn, Sour Patch Kids, and the latest Netflix arrival -- whenever we can get a break from everyday life.
Ever since Mr. Mary Jane and I decided to get married at the courthouse, I’ve waffled repeatedly on whether to create some type of invitation for our very small amount of guests.
There were a few reasons I didn’t want to create these invitations:
- Lack of time. I have tons of other things going on.
- Possible tag-alongs. If FMIL were to put it on her fridge (for example), a few extra relatives might pencil us in to their calendars. Our event is very small and intimate, so we’d rather not have this.
- There are only 7 guests! We can just tell them when and where!
Last week, I changed my mind after having been asked by each of the guests when, where, and what time the wedding was being held. A few of the guests have asked me multiple times. I decided perhaps they needed a specifics-card of some sort.
I also thought the moms might want to have something as a keepsake, perhaps to scrapbook. And I won’t lie: I wanted something to scrapbook, too. All of our paper products have our picnic information on them, and I really wanted to have something that recognizes our actual wedding date!
Our wedding is fast-approaching, but that’s not a bad thing!

About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, but after college I moved to Seattle for a couple of years and loved it. Then I followed my beau out here to LA and we're getting settled in. I kind of take after my grandmother, who believes that your morning OJ always tastes better out of the good crystal.

We made it legal in July. Here’s what our casual beach wedding invite looked like. It was just a flat card with some info on the back, sent in a sky blue envelope. The photo was edited by me using this technique, and the flourish came from here. I printed it on some textured ivory-ish paper. The paper and envelopes were size A6 from PaperSource. Finally, I used the awesome new love stamp.

Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas
Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader
Engagement Date: March 19, 2009
Wedding Date: April 2010
Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas
About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
So lately I’ve been seeing some very beautiful things as I try to gather inspiration for the wedding. In the past I would see pretty things and think, ‘oh that’s nice,’ and now I think, ‘oh that’s nice, how can I incorporate that into our wedding?’ My latest obsession is these lanterns. They are gorgeous and totally impractical. I have no where to put these, and they don’t match any of the colors we’re going with, really. The venue provides tiki torches already, but for some reason I’m lusting after these from Home Infatuation:

About Me: I was born and raised in West Los Angeles, California. I spent eight years in the Northeast working and completing my education. Having split time between two sides of the country has given me a true appreciation for both coasts. It has also provided an overabundance of cross country drives, flights and long distance relationship fun/misery! I love my family, my doggy Emma, fabulous wine, Anthropologie, politics, reading, being outdoors, exploring new cities, and good movies! My fiance and I are complete opposites, but somehow we have managed to fall completely and hopelessly in love.
I’m a big fan of dresses with sleeves (Didn’t know?… Check out my wedding dress). I think many strapless dresses are gorgeous, so absolutely no offense to them. But I was toying around with the idea of bridesmaid’s dresses with sleeves. Having a fall/winter wedding? Bridesmaids worried about revealing too much of their arms? Or you’re just interested in a look that is chic and sophisticated? It’s a bit of a departure from the norm, but awesome nonetheless.

About Me: I am the designer & printer behind Parrott Design Studio, specializing in custom letterpress and screen printed wedding and event invitations, stationery, and paper goods. With a background in non-profit marketing & art history, I began the studio in 2006 in my small apartment in Providence, RI. Since then I have moved to a studio built my fianc, acquired a Golding Jobber letterpress, & have been happily printing ever since. I grew up in Portland, Maine, and I have always had an affinity for the ocean, mountains, birds, gardening, & the simple life. When I am not printing, I can be found somewhere outside with my fianc & playful pup.
Hello! I do say I have been very fortunate to work on some seriously lovely designs as of late. The bride, Heidi, is a wind power analyst {awesome!} and her fiance is a helicopter pilot. They wanted a design evocative of a rustic vineyard in the Blue Ridge Mountains during Autumn. The wedding is taking place outdoors where they would be surrounded by the bright yellows, oranges, and reds of the changing leaves. We decided instead of going for the obvious vineyard theme {grapes} or Autumn colors {yellow, orange, & red}, we would go for rustic florals in a cool, mono-toned palette of deep navy blue. Being eco-friendly was important for the couple so the invitations were Gocco screenprinted on 100% cotton Lettra paper in pearl and the envelopes were 100% recycled brown kraft paper. I love the little floral detail of the return address on the envelope! The RSVPs were a double-sided postcard. The front of the RSVP came out beautifully with the full floral design. I am happy Heidi liked using the little motifs for the meal choices. It adds a bit of whimsy the elegant design.

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 35, Managerial Type at an Internet Company
Engagement Date: December 12, 2008
Wedding Date: September 2009
Venue: Ralston Hall Mansion
About Me: I'm a food-and-baking-obsessed, occasionally sword wielding Bay Area native who is quickly becoming overwhelmed with planning a wedding and opening a law practice at the same time. (Brilliant move, that one.) I love reading, online shopping, ice cream, my Macbook, Bollywood movies, hoodies, the UCLA Bruins, and of course, Mr. Dew Drop.
Remember where we left off in my wedding dress story?
I had bought a dress that I thought I wanted, and I was left waiting it for it to come in. Yeah, the dress was a little lower at the neckline than I preferred, but I convinced myself that this would be less of an issue in a dress that fit me properly. (The sample dress was a size too big.)
But I can’t say I didn’t have second thoughts. Of course I had second thoughts. I had second thoughts and third thoughts and fourth thoughts and, yes, even fifth thoughts. I kept thinking about that dress and whether it would be what I wanted it to be. You can say I was obsessed.
Go on, say it.
Mr. DD (clearly the sane one in our relationship) told me I should wait until the dress came in to freak out about it. I tried to listen to him, but mostly I just freaked out in private.
And then the dress arrived…

Engagement Date: February 25, 2009
Wedding Date: January 2010
Venue: Mr. P's Grandparents’ Ranch
About Me: I’m a Chilean girl who's crazy about nature and swimming. I enjoy carving, drawing, reading and sewing; I drool over computers, fabric, pretty paper, purple and patterns. To me, chocolate should be one of the seven wonders, right next to lemon pie. I never thought an exchange work experience program was going to change my life forever, but while working in California, I met Mr. Poodle, and ever since my days are better and brighter. We are two goofy souls that, after finding each other, couldn’t help but want to be together forever. It has being a long and sometimes hard road, since we have to deal with such a long distance between us, but we are now facing the last stage of our Fiancé Visa, and soon we will be together. You know the best part? We will be married! So I’ll be blogging from Chile until just a few months before our “green and purple” wedding.
During one of our first “wedding related” conversations, Mr. Poodle and I decided to get married in California. We didn’t need to to put too much thought into it, it was one of those things that came naturally. Every single one of Mr. Poodle’s family get-togethers take place on “the ranch”. So, he asked me if I wanted to have the wedding there. I thought it was a good idea because we wouldn’t need reservations, we can use it for as long as we want, and we can be as loud as we want. Plus, it’s free!
After we chose our setting I started the search for ideas and inspiration to transform the ranch into our dream wedding venue. I already shared the fact that the ranch does not have a classic wooden barn, so it won’t be as easy as stringing lights and making the magic happen. There will be a lot of work involved. Luckilly, Mr. Poodle’s family is happily willing to help us as much as they can! Yay!
When Mrs. Frenchie showed us this amazing venue, I wished we could build a place like this, but we needed to be real: even if we had the money, we could not build that *just* for our wedding!

{ Image Source }
BUT, we could build something similar. Our own chapel!

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Artist and Whitewater Rafting Guide
Engagement Date: April 28th, 2008
Wedding Date: October 2009
Venue: Devil's Thumb Ranch, Colorado
About Me: I grew up in Los Angeles and have since lived in San Diego, Boston, Italy, Hawaii, New York City, and Santa Fe. I speak Italian and love pasta. My real passion is the outdoors, though. When I'm not at work, I'm snowboarding, hiking with my two dogs, mountain biking, surfing, cross-country-skiing, or boating New Mexico's rivers. Despite my boyish love for adventure, I'm a girly-girl at heart and am overly-excited to pull off the romantic, vintage-inspired, country wedding of my dreams.
Today, we are officially one month out. Not only does that mean I have to go into overdrive with my to-do list, but I also get to start stalking the weather. I won’t get an actual likely forecast until we are within the 10-day mark probably, but it’s kind of fun to have a vague idea of what the sky, wind, and temperature might be doing.
Right now, weather.com says we’ll have a high of 60 with a low of 29. Brrrrr. The record high for the day is 72. Let’s hope we get closer to that because the low makes it low enough to snow! Luckily, our Harvest Moon is still there, winking at us from the calendar.
I’ve decided that inclement weather is quite alright with me. If, in fact, we need to turn to Plan B because of the weather, our wedding will be in the barn where our reception is taking place, under the barn doors (like below), as opposed to this.

Wedding Date: September 2009
Venue: Harbison Chapel & The Maple Lane Farm
About Me: Mr. Sunbeam and I are high school sweethearts. We both come from a small town in PA but are growing to love the California lifestyle. He loves wine and I love cheese... the perfect combination! When I'm not drooling over wedding blogs, I'm attending grad school, out being a foodie, or attempting to "walk" our cat at the park. Two things guaranteed to excite me are wedding cakes and breaking out my suitcase to travel. Mr. Sunbeam and I are personalizing our hometown wedding to celebrate our high school sweetheart status and PA roots with a few CA touches. After ten years of dating we couldn't be more excited to call each other husband and wife!
This morning I broke out my Photoshop skills once again. I was feeling inspired by my post yesterday and was trying to visualize some VIP chair signage for me and the Mister! To me, it’s hard to make your mark with a unique chair sign, but here’s what I’ve come up with to combine with the chair ribbon decorations I shared yesterday.

About Me: I absolutely love wedding planning, spending time with Mr. Ballet Flat, various crafts, watching football, baking, pop music, bargain hunting and ice cream. My idea of a great date night is dinner and clearance shopping with Mr. Ballet Flat! I currently live below sea level in the suburbs near New Orleans, where I make maps all day, everyday for my job. I'm slowly becoming more and more obsessed with anything New Orleans related for our wedding, and I can't wait for the big day!
Oh my goodness, does time fly! It’s been far too long since a recap from this ‘bee blogger!
Where were we? Ah yes, after the miraculous poofs, sprays and the whole getting dressed-thing, more people started to arrive.
Daddy Ballet Flat finished mowing the lawn, so it was time for him to come inside and get himself all gussied up. Then, the florist came to drop off my highly anticipated flowers! I was so excited and busy, that I took one look at the box of flowers, gushed a HUGE smile, and then the florist left to go to the church to decorate there.
Look at these gorgeous blooms!

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Purchasing Analyst
Engagement Date: November 8, 2008
Wedding Date: August 2009
Venue: Bernardo Winery
About Me: I've lived in Atlanta, Dallas and Laguna Niguel; although I've lived in Orange County, CA most my life, I'm a Southerner at heart. I work full time for a Commercial General Contractor (aka my father) and I go to school for Interior Design at night. I love modern design, music, wine, crafting, DMailing, my family, my Westies, and of course, Mr Frenchie! Mr Frenchie and I met 3 years ago on Match.com and have been best friends ever since. I love his "old soul" and how he laughs with his whole body, among many other things. We are planning our summer wedding at the winery near his hometown, just 45 minutes south of Orange County.
Hi Hive, I’m back! Mr Frenchie and I got back from our fabulous honeymoon Wednesday night and we’re already back at work (but only for 2 days, thank God). I’m trying to catch up on work in the office, but I can’t stay away from Weddingbee. Like many married bees before me, I’m waiting for my pro photos to recap our wedding. In the meantime, I have a few last minute projects to fill you in on and a honeymoon to talk about!
I forget where I saw this, but I read about a couple that brought a tiny stuffed animal with them when they traveled and took its picture along the way. I told Mr Frenchie about it and we thought it would be fun to bring the desk gnome I bought him a few years ago, along on our travels.
I bring you: Sheldon’s Adventures…

I love this dress from this wedding. Since I will be using grandma’s old lace for my dress, it seems like it’s got the right vibe.
But I do like my back, and was kind of hoping to show it off, so we’ll have to hybridize it with this dress:
