Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Senior Online Consultant
Engagement Date: February 14, 2009
Wedding Date: April 2010
Venue: Signature Events
About Me: I have a soft spot for all things sweet and romantic. Desserts, love songs, sappy movies? Yes, yes, and ohh yes. My fiance and I enjoy singing to our dogs, creating crazy ice cream sundaes, and generally being lovey dovey cuddle bunnies. We also do socially acceptable things like dancing, throwing Frisbees, playing high stakes board games, and taking unreasonably fun road-trips. We're planning a Korean/Serbian wedding with plenty of playful, personal touches!
In my earlier posts, I hinted at the bunny theme in our wedding. I will tease you no more; here’s the scoop!
Mr. Parfait’s last name means bunny in Serbian. Within the family, there have been cottontails worn at weddings, children named after famous bunnies, and numerous rabbit-y nicknames! I love it, and I can’t wait to be his Mrs. Bunny (and Mrs. Parfait)!

Playing up my future last name at a photobooth.
And now we’re all caught up and ready for the proposal story:

About Me: I love melty cheese and diet coke almost as much as I love my man. I'm from Chicago, he's from NYC, and we both miss public transit and great pizza. We have an adorable muppet dog called Paco. I'm part hippie with a healthy dash of hip hop superstar, have excessive empathy for animals, and have not one, but two bionic eyes (long story). We're broke and it ain't no joke. It can't stop us from planning the bold and whimsical wedding of our dreams, but we've had to get pretty creative to make it work, yo!
I… wow…

Um, I don’t know what else to say, except…

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Engineer and Photographer
Engagement Date: March 2, 2008
Wedding Date: September 2009
Venue: The 19th Century Club
About Me: My fiance and I love living in the city of Chicago with our cats Basil and Linus, and vow to never move to the suburbs if we can possibly avoid it! We’ve poured ourselves into planning a wedding that reflects our personal style - modern and high contrast with a vintage twist. Blogging keeps me creative, baking keeps me happy, and grande nonfat no foam sugar free vanilla lattes keep me sane.
Mr. Stiletto and I enjoyed the most fabulous wedding day EVER! I can’t wait to share more with you once we get the professional pictures back… I’m already dying to do recaps!
In the meantime, I’ll leave you with the lovely sneak peek posted by our photographer, Laurie Peacock:

Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas
Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader
Engagement Date: March 19, 2009
Wedding Date: April 2010
Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas
About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
I love when I can find photos of other weddings that took place at the venue Mr. Fro Yo and I are getting married at. Luckily, I just found another one, and it is so gorgeous! I wish I could call this bride up and ask her tons of questions. The photographer, Heather Essian, is amazing. I hopped over to her website and couldn’t stop browsing. Take a look…

I know. Did you see that ring shot? Gorgeous.
Do you seek out other weddings that have taken place at your venue? Do you have any tips for people seeking out wedding pics from their venue?

About Me: I’m a 24-year-old Californian bride-to-be who found love in the most unlikely of places - an online video game! I’m a farmer’s daughter living in rural Central California, but will always have a special place in my heart for the city. My future husband is a 27-year-old extraordinarily tall, exceptionally cute, and undoubtedly Canadian boy who was able to sweep me off my feet and take me for his bride. I love color, folksy songs that make me smile, interior design, kettle corn, my one-year-old puppy, Juno, and my fiance, of course! We’re planning a DIY garden wedding with a laundry-list of projects, all while dealing with the bureaucracy that is American Immigration!
Long distance relationships (LDRs) are NOT easy. In fact, despite knowing early on that Mr. D was the one for me, this past year has probably been the most emotionally draining year that I can remember. A girl’s heart can only miss someone for so long! Thank goodness we’ve been fortunate enough to have the money and vacation time to visit each other once every few months; I can’t even begin to imagine how these women who go years without seeing their significant others handle the inevitable sadness that comes with an LDR.
If I could travel back in time, would I do it all over again? In a heartbeat!
Would I recommend a long distance relationship to anyone? Well, that’s a question without a simple answer.
There’s a lot to think about before committing yourself to someone you won’t be able to see on a regular basis. I am, however, always willing to give advice to (or commiserate with) anyone’s who’s thinking about jumping into an LDR!

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Studio Analyst, aspiring Screenwriter
Engagement Date: May 20, 2009
Wedding Date: November 2009
Venue: Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (LaCoste, TX) and Mary Gray Events Center (Castroville, TX)
About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, but after college I moved to Seattle for a couple of years and loved it. Then I followed my beau out here to LA and we're getting settled in. I've been making things since I can remember. I was raised by crafters. I love to sew, draw, paint, build, cook, bake (anything with a tangible end result is fair game). In that same spirit, I've been hosting since I was old enough to cook and set a fancy table. I kind of take after my grandmother, who believes that your morning OJ always tastes better out of the good crystal.
It’s hot as Hades here in SoCal, so I thought I’d whip up some gazpacho for dinner. I didn’t want to leave the apartment to get ingredients, so let’s just call it a chilled Mediterranean soup. It’s probably not a real gazpacho, but at least I had all this in my fridge.
Chilled Mediterranean Soup
- 2 large tomatoes
- 1 cucumber (peeled and seeded)
- 1 red, yellow or orange bell pepper (sorry green but I don’t like you)
- 2 teaspoons of garlic powder (this heat made all my fresh garlic go bad)
- 1/8 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/3 cup Greek yogurt
- A dash of the original Mrs. Dash
- Salt to taste
Roughly chop all the veggies and throw everything in the blender.
I was so excited when I tasted this. Uber yum!
Now here’s where it gets bridal. How great would this be as an app in a martini glass with an artful little crouton? Well, here you go.

Mrs. Sunbeam, San Francisco/Grove City, PA
Age and Occupation: 26, Grad Student & Office Manager
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Motion Designer
Engagement Date: May 10, 2008
Wedding Date: September 2009
Venue: Harbison Chapel & The Maple Lane Farm
About Me: Mr. Sunbeam and I are high school sweethearts. We both come from a small town in PA but are growing to love the California lifestyle. He loves wine and I love cheese... the perfect combination! When I'm not drooling over wedding blogs, I'm attending grad school, out being a foodie, or attempting to "walk" our cat at the park. Two things guaranteed to excite me are wedding cakes and breaking out my suitcase to travel. Mr. Sunbeam and I are personalizing our hometown wedding to celebrate our high school sweetheart status and PA roots with a few CA touches. After ten years of dating we couldn't be more excited to call each other husband and wife!
Today is our wedding day! Ironically, it looks like rain, but the sun will be beaming inside of me either way!
To Mr. Sunbeam: I can’t believe this day is here. Ten years of dating and it still feels like we’re just beginning. I can’t wait to see your smiling face, call you my hubby, and tell you that you look like a vampire in your suit like I did at every high school dance.
Thank you Weddingbee for being my inspiration and my rock! I can’t wait to share so many things with all of you and tell you more about the trials and triumphs. See you on the other side of Mrs! And good luck to all of the brides getting married today!!
xoxo

Mrs. Lamb, Norfolk
Age and Occupation: 25, Homeland Security Consultant
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Graduate Student
Engagement Date: January 2009
Wedding Date: January 2010
Venue: Trinity Presbyterian Church/Harrison Opera House
About Me: I’m a Homeland Security Consultant with a tendency towards pulling office pranks, taking lunch breaks, and drinking Wawa shakes. I’m also an English major with a serious obsession with alliteration and rhymes. While I’m not keeping America safe, I’m training for half marathons and the Escape from Alcatraz swim. Or moving for the third time this year. Or baking. Or wedding crafting. Or crying about wedding planning. All the while, I’m getting myself into Lucille Ball-esque scrapes and making Jim Carey-esque faces. Our big fat Czech/Baptist/Jewish/Italian wedding is a combination of vintage eclectic, DIY, and little spoonful of sugar from our Event Coordinator. It’s going to be a Norfolk flavored wedding with the verve of an only-daughter-blow-out bash!
Anyone ever pronounce it de-butt? Hahahahahahahaha - I find the spelling of debut funny in a very 7th grade sort of way. I am also having flashbacks to “playing wrestling”, which is much like “playing house”, except we were pretending to be our favorite WWW wrestler. Jake the Snake, The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ric Flair, and Brett Hart - didn’t matter who my brother was playing, I would give him The People’s Elbow and then we’d get into trouble for roughhousing.
Anywebsite, I love the idea of the wedding website. Like Save-the-Dates, sometimes I think they’re narcissistic, but also like Save-the-Dates, they really come in handy! I reference the websites of marrying friends at several points during the planning process, especially if I’m attending the wedding from out of town. Since the majority of our guests are traveling from out of town, we considered a website to be a must.
I browsed all of the well known providers, plus a few more. I knew that we weren’t quite tech savvy enough to create one from scratch, so we went with the pre-designed ones created especially for weddings.
Here’s my list:

About Me: Things that make me happy: Haribo Happy Cola gummies, TV shows on DVD, buying books although I never read them, 80’s rock ballads, ramen, and of course Mr. Martini! He is the calm, logical and number crunching finance guy. I can’t even multiply double digit numbers in my head and I am so indecisive that trying to choose between light green or slightly lighter green paper stresses me out (Wedding planning is going to be soooo much fun). We both find great joy in nabbing great seats at the movie theater for a blockbuster movie on opening weekend, and we are both absolutely crazy about snowboarding. And he loves to cook, I love to eat!
After our first moment, Cly Creation started us on our portraits. Let me just tell you - our photographers were able to capture such amazing pictures despite the lack of scenery. They really knew how to work with what they had! Our wedding was held in March, before spring was in full effect, and our venue was located in Garfield, NJ - which isn’t really known for compelling landscapes. Our venue was gorgeous and absolutely perfect, but since the trees were bare and there wasn’t much outdoor space, we were pretty limited. I assumed that we would stay indoors for our portraits, so I was a little surprised when we were ushered outside. The result? awesome pictures with Mr. Martini and the friends that are dearest to us. All pictures below were taken by Cly Creation, unless otherwise noted.

As you can probably tell from my last few posts, I’m having trouble deciding what I want for my invitations. The paper part of our wedding is precious to me. You see, as a little girl, I collected stationery like it was my job. I used them up by writing to my friends and cousins, but I always saved at least one sheet and envelope of each kind to keep in my collection. Nowadays, I love perusing the pretty paper goods at Papyrus and Crane & Co. I sigh over the swooping embellishments, luxuriously thick cotton paper, and (of course) the soft grooves of letterpress.
With whatever format we choose, I would like them to have a certain elegance. I love beautiful cards. For example:

Gorgeous letterpress. I especially love the bottom right one.

Yesterday I attended Darcy Miller’s private showing of Family, a special exhibit showcasing her whimsical illustrations and passion for scrapbooking. The pieces in the collection focused on her wedding, travels, and family, and ranged from shadowboxes, to scrapbooks, to journals to actual items from Darcy’s family life. You could see just how passionate and creative Darcy is when it comes to preserving memories, and I must say that it was truly inspiring!
Once upon a time I was an avid scrapbooker, but that was a hobby that fell to the wayside when the buzz of daily life intervened. I still have all my wedding keepsakes stored in a box because I hoped to scrapbook them all one day. This exhibit renewed my desire to preserve my own family’s memories in similarly meaningful and beautiful ways, because you don’t necessarily have to be super crafty to replicate some of Darcy’s amazing ideas below!

About Me: I'm a lover of all things good: coffee, music, travel, rain, and of course- my handsome fiance! I'm a full believer in the "Life is Short," mantra - and therefore, eat lots of dark chocolate. I'm a Geographer by degree and nerd by choice. I cook to the sound of French and Portuguese music even though I speak neither. I love road trips, camping, hiking, and capturing life through the lens of my camera. Take me to Anthropologie and I may never leave. I'm a sucker for pretty packaging, bargain finds, and old movies. Mr. Espresso and I are high school sweethearts and I am so blessed to be this amazing man's future wife.
When Sandie and Ryel arrived that morning, I asked them if they wouldn’t mind caravaning down to the lake for our wedding party portraits. I wanted a different setting than the family ones. They both were as eager about the idea as I was. So, while the guests were enjoying the cocktail hour, we all jumped in a few different cars and drove down to Big Bear Lake.
Because I knew I’d also be STARVING at this point, I had asked our caterer to package up some of the appetizers for all of us to eat. Here is Mr. Espresso and me snacking on some chicken skewers on the drive down.
