Ever wonder what goes through the mind of the groom the morning of the wedding? I do, and I’m so glad Champ’s friends captured his morning the day of our wedding. While I was running around with my maid of honor, jump starting her car again and again, Champ took a casual stroll through Vail Village.

The beginning of the day must have been pretty relaxed, and I could tell by the look on his face he was actually enjoying the time with his groomsmen.
But as it got closer and closer to the wedding, I could see his face transform from this fun smile:
… to this nervous groom! Occasionally, his mom would peek her head into our room across the hall while we were getting ready to let me know that he was “OK, but very excited”.

I guess as the guys started to put on their tuxes, it became clear that a few of them were a bit “off” on their measurements. Specifically, this guy:
Apparently he told the tux shop that his length was 46 (only about 10 inches off). So unless he either 1. grew a foot, or 2. got it fixed, we were in trouble.
Luckily, Champ’s mom has spent some time in the theater and was quick to make the changes without a big fuss. I believe there were some switching of pants involved between the above mentioned groomsman and my dad (standing in back here with his jeans and bow tie waiting for pants).

Honestly, there are some details a bride just doesn’t need to know the morning of the wedding. Thank you, MIL… thank you.

After the pants party, Champ gave his guys and the dads monogrammed cuff links. I think they all really liked them, and obviously I’m not a guy, but if I were, I would wear them again!

I’m glad Champ had browsed over some of my wedding photos on our computer, because he seemed to pose perfectly for the camera! He created moments for photos with his dad, asking him to help with his tie. It’s like he knew there was a photographer in his face just waiting for pictures… amazing.

Champ rarely sees his best man, but whenever they do see each other it’s like they’re right back in college. They were quite the pair…

Our florist, Rose Braden of Rose Petals, came up with some beautiful flowers for the guys to wear. The groom wore white to match my bouquet, and his guys wore red bouts to match the bridesmaids’ bouquets.

And here’s where we come to the portraits. Honestly, my mouth dropped when I saw this photo (snapped from one of the hotel balconies):
We are in COLORADO in the beautiful Rockies, and of all places to do portraits, our photographer picked the parking lot of the Holiday Inn. Here are two of the only photos that don’t show the yellow paint marking the parking spots.
Champ with friend Zach, brother-in-law Eric, and my brother Nils:
As least they look handsome! The groom with his college buddies:
We rented a stretch Hummer to take the boys from the hotel to the Chapel, and arranged for it to come back for me and the girls. It was really more of a way to avoid running into each other in a small hotel!
My brother was so cute. Honestly, he was the first one to line up in pictures and the first one to flash his goofy grin.
The guys got to the Chapel and were directed to a room in back where they waited…
maybe told a few jokes…
then waited some more…
and waited…
Sorry guys- we were getting dressed! Next up, we girls get our turn in the limo!
