Miss Chick's Picture
Miss Chick, Houston Age and Occupation: 28, Rights and Reproduction Manager Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Computer Programmer Engagement Date: November 15, 2008 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: A farm outside of Houston About Me: Mr. Chick and I met almost ten years ago at Baker Blues, a college jazz party. He was attracted to my intensity, and I was mesmerized by his trivia pursuit skills and his dorm furniture adorned with his initials. We've grown more sophisticated through the years, with our love of wine, owning a house together, and parenthood (of a cat), but we have not lost our silliness or childish sense of humor!
About Miss Chick

Halp! I need to find a great hair fascinator!

Our engagement shoot is scheduled for October 24th with the mighty Lulu and her loyal assistant, Liang. I will be wearing my Blaire dress:

DSCN1391

I think I will leave my hair down but make it into big curls, 1940s style! Now all I need is a perfect hair fascinator. Here are the ones I’ve narrowed it down to:

il_430xN.84423701

From the Etsy shop of JMG Jewel Design for $36.50. I really like it, but I don’t like the pearls in the middle.

il_430xN.92358648

From the Etsy shop of Little White Dresser, $42. I’m not so hot on wearing an actual headband (although I do love Blaire’s).

Also from the Etsy shop of Little White Dresser, $18. I like the vintage lace and buttons, but I’m not sure if it would look good in my hair…

You may remember Emerson Made from this post. I didn’t see this particular flower on her website, nor do I see fascinators, but I am going to email her and ask if she would custom make it. I love her flowers!

From the Etsy shop of Accessoire, $21.50. Maybe in white and gray!

Which one do you guys like the best? Did you wear a hair piece for your engagement shoot?

I like them all, but I think I like the first one best. If you like it except for the pearls, maybe you can contact the seller and have her whip one up (quickly! I know time is of the essence!) without? Just an idea!

I just used fabulous earrings for our e-shoot. I love the idea putting something in your hair. Are you having a wardrobe change during your shoot? We did and I love that we did…we did a casual outfit (jeans) and then a dressed up look and it’s amazing how clothes can change the feel of the pictures. :) I’m excited to see how yours turn out!

P.S. Love your dress! So cute!

Now I must do it! ok I will do the Blaire dress, and maybe a very dressy long one for shots we will do at our fave diner (a nice juxataposition?) and maybe one with a casual outfit…must think of location for casual outfit! Thanks for the idea!!

I love that headband. I also love that the thread is in a heart shape two down.

I love the felt one! It adds texture. I totally hear you about the headbands- love them on other people, wearing one… ehhh.

I made a fascinator for our engagement shot- kinda as a trial run for doing one for our wedding. Photos in the DIY section.

I absolutely love the 2nd one! But I’m not sure about it with your dress … so for that one I would probably choose the 1st or 4th one!

I like the “little white dresser” one! And I just started season 2 of Gossip Girl, so now I know what dress you’re talking about!! (I can’t help it, I freaking love Blaire.)

I like #2… I wouldn’t want anything to distract from your awesome dress unless you were looking right up on it on your head. Your dress, btw, is awesome.

I like the first one the best. I think it goes with the very elegant feel of your dress the best. :)
