Mrs. Frozen Yogurt's Picture
Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.

Save the Date Party!

October 6th, 2009 @ 4:40 pm by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

Oh my gosh, I recently had the best weekend ever!! I took a trip from Austin to Dallas to put together our save the dates with my bridesmaids. It started out a little rocky due to the inclement weather Texas was having.

And a typical three hour drive took six hours. But it was all worth it. First off, they surprised me with a delicious spread of food (um… by the time we took a picture we had already eaten quite a bit). Bridesmaid Amy even searched and found vegetarian bacon for me for the yummy salad!

And then, they surprised me with a taste test of the 3 signature cocktails we were considering. Yum!

Bellini-tini:

Mojito:

Cham Cham:

We all tasted each one, and still couldn’t decide which drink to choose, so we might have to do this again. :)

After we’d eaten more tortilla rolls than we cared to count and had a few cocktails, we were ready to start the assembly of the save the dates. We each took on a task.

Sister Fro Yo addressed all the envelopes:

Bridesmaid Amy stuck all the magnets on the moo cards:

Bridesmaid Kim secured the ribbon around the magnet and the save the dates (I don’t have a photo of this, but she also made cocktails):

Mommy Fro Yo stuffed the save the dates in the envelopes:

And me? Well, I sort of bounced around from one chore to the next—cutting magnets and ribbon, securing the ribbon, and stuffing envelopes. I also made sure that everyone was happy with a cocktail.

So, do you want to see the finished product?

Ta da!! I’m SO happy with how they came out and cannot say thank you enough to my wonderful bridesmaids. They were such an enormous help and so thoughtful. I swear, I have the best bridesmaids. I feel very lucky!!

So how did you feel about your save the dates? Did they come out just as you’d hoped for??

Love it! Those are fantastic! We did magnet STDs and my local bridesmaid (all the rest are scattered to the four winds…) and I sat on my couch over wine and gossiped about sorority life while putting the STDs together. It’s a fun memory. (:

Aw those came out so well! I cannot *wait* to have “friend time” masking as “making stuff time”… I’m 400 miles away from my best friends and cannot wait to make the trips home to get their help! I’ll be able to see them so much more!
