Hi everyone!
Well, as you know, just a mere week ago, I was a sad bride walking around like this (Arrested Development fans, this is a must watch) because of all the venue drama.

I even joked about walking down the aisle this way. Now that we have our venue settled (OK, 95% settled. I’ll know more in two weeks and of course I will keep you guys posted!) I am back with wedding blog fever! Lulu and I went location scouting for our engagement shoot (scheduled for Oct 24th) a month ago and I thought I would give you a little taste!

Looks like it’s going to be an awesome shoot — so many diverse locations!
I love the museum “Houston” shot and the stairs, you look stunning in them 
Its great that you get a mini practice of these shots before you really do them! I love it!
We have a rough idea of where we are going (we’re recreating our first date!) but I think you have convinced me to convinced the FI to walk around. Most of them I have ideas of which spots I want to hit but some are a little more ambiguous…like the park.
I love the idea of taking some pics at your favorite diner! And the artificial sweetener heart is adorable
Hope the weather is cool if you do many of the outdoor shots!
I like the MFAH and House of Pies. Or Rice & HOP, since those are places with meaning.
I think if I had been a Krispie, I could seriously find some fun spots @ Rice.
It was easy… we are huge Angels Baseball fans so I found a way to get in there so that we could have a shoot there for a couple of hours!
Don’t forget about Sabine bridge (between Memorial and Allen Parkway). Its beautiful and you can take pictures from there and have the Houston skyline in the background.

looks like you will have incredible locations to shoot at. I love house of pies & the stairs at the museum, & the street at rice… you are just too cute! you look great in all the pics… now just to add mr. chick to them!
My best friend just did hers in the museum district. I only lived in H-town for a year, so I don’t know where everything is! But they came out really well. Your locations look really unique, though! Love the wine bar idea!

Ya’ll have a diner called “House of Pies”!? I’m so jealous. FI and I are both big “Pushing Daisies” fans (so sad it was cancelled), and we long to have a “pie hole” of our own, but there are no good places for pie here in san diego.
They all look super awesome. Our eng pics were on the beach. It was crazy hot but it was a fun place to take our pics.

@melodicsighs1: omg yes!! Every week I’d pick up a pie from there and Mr. Chick and I would eat while we watched Pushing Daisies! I’m so sad that show is cancelled!
We let our photographer take us where she thought was fun. It worked out great!
I’m loving the chapel in front of the very tall glass buildings, and the tree lined street at Rice University! Great locations!!

AHH I LOOOOVE ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT! hahahaha… Mr. C and I videotaped ourselves walking like that from the Trump tower… as if we just got fired from Donald Trump
Great pictures! Lulu is quite talented - and you look incredible. To be honest, I’ve only mildly thought about our engagement photos … I have an idea of where I want some of them taken … and our favorite diner is one of them, too! P.S. - totally stealing the idea of the sweet ‘n’ low heart!!
I love how artsy & laid back your shots are!! We’re having our e-shoot in December… I’ll definitely check out some locations ahead of time! I hope our photos come out half as awesome as yours

We’ll have our e-pics in San Antonio this weekend, but our wedding is in Houston so it will be nice to take some pics the day of our wedding. . .
My FI and I go very often to the Museum of Fine Arts, so it’s a meaningful spot. . .We also like Salento on Rice Village. . .We DTR there so it’ll be nice as well
My fiance and I do the sad charlie brown arrested development walk whenever we’re glum about something silly Love it! We have to choose a spot for our e-pics soon since we booked a photographer.

Love your locations and thanks for the ideas. We are in midst of searching for our engagement shoot locations and having a hard time of it. We’re trying to find locations with mean, places we can bring our pups, places we wont freeze in the winter outdoors. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm……

Hey Miss Chick! I am also located in Houston and am getting married in January. Any recommendations for restaurants for a rehearsal dinner? We tried Bistro des Amis last night… but parking in the Village is such a pain. Any awesome ideas would be great!

@Sarah: Hmm, interesting questions! Off the top of my head I think Catalan or Benjy’s in the village would be good because the food is great AND they have private party rooms. Cafe Rabelais are Max and Julie’s would also very good. If you want to do steak, Capitol Grille or Pappa’s Steakhouse are both also really good. If you want, you can tell me in more detail what kind of food, atmosphere, pricepoint and I can think about it more!
