About Mrs. Parfait

Oh, Happy Day!

October 7th, 2009 @ 2:38 pm by Mrs. Parfait

Happy colors = happy spirits = happy guests + bride + groom = happy celebration! That sums ups our no-fail plan for a perfect evening. When describing our brightly-hued wedding to others, we’re sometimes met with remarks about color overload and bleeding eyeballs. :P Thankfully, Mr. Parfait and I have the same vision, and I think I know where it came from.

A while ago, Mr. Parfait’s company treated its best and brightest to dinner. A really nice dinner. They used multiple bright colors, too, and it was stunning!

Oh, Happy Day! : wedding color schemes 13 dinner

Jaws dropped; coworkers raved; chair sashes found their way onto people’s shoulders. The bursts of color across the sandy beach told guests, “Loosen up; get up; and let’s paaaar-tay!”

As the sun set, the colors fell away in darkness. Below, you can see how it looked hours into the night. The right side was the boisterous dining area, lit with red and gold. The left side was the quieter cocktail area, lit in blue.

This extravagant dinner party pops into my head whenever we’re describing the mood and colors of our wedding. And when I mention it, Mr. Parfait is always thinking the same thing! Our hot pink, bright yellow, and citrus-y orange palette seems pretty tame in comparison.

Have you been inspired by celebrations you’ve attended?

Wherever it is he works - I want to channel them for my job!
Or, well, maybe channel this idea for my wedding!

That’s a fantastic use of colour! I wish I could just have everything in every colour… but that could get expensive.

omg, I LOVE all those colors!! That looks like the most awesome dinner party, ever. You two sound just like me, although my hubby is not as into the bright as I am. I did talk him into bright for our wedding though, and it turned out fantastic!

We had yellow and orange as our main colors. He and I wore ruby red accents (my shoes, his vest and tie), best man had green accessories, decor was mostly orange and yellow with some green and red thrown in here and there. People were dancing with their yellow and orange napkins, playing with the poms, and we got alot of compliments on the vibrant red we wore.

Have fun with the bright, I would love that!

those are the colors of my little sister Quinceañera Fiesta (it’s her 15th years old party, a big tradition here in Mex, like wedding but without the groom!)
She loves colors, so she picked out different color sashes and linens in red, orange, green, yellow and blue!

I love the bright, festive colors. This would be fantastic for a wedding. It really speaks to the “fun” of the event. And it would also be great if the bridesmaids were wearing something neutral like black so they wouldn’t get lost in it all during photos. Maybe for favors, the couple could give multi-colored gumballs in black favor boxes… this kind of decor makes anything possible, and enjoyable!

I’m so excited to see more for your wedding because I have the same thing with mine… we are using Fuchsia, Lime, and Tangerine and get the look of “Wow that’s bright” but we are on a yacht that is completely white and all windows… how can I not want to brighten up an April wedding?!
