About Mrs. French Fries

At the tail end of summer two years ago, I met Mr. French Fries, the man who will become my husband. It was on a crowded patio around raucous bar patrons that he made me laugh for almost 3 solid hours, which led me to consider maybe going on a date with him. (Even if I did end up breaking that first date. True story!) If someone would have told me that I was going to meet my future husband that night, I wouldn’t have believed them, not in a million years. But, here we are — face to face — a couple of silver spoons…  (name that TV show!). Anyway, point being: he truly is an inspiration to me and I’m so blessed to have him in my life.

You’re the Meaning in My Life… You’re the Inspiration… : wedding color schemes 111 Engagement Pictures 010edit2

To celebrate meeting Mr. French Fries, I’m posting a final draft of another kind of inspiration – the final inspiration board for our wedding! I’ve gone back and forth on color scheme several times, and we were seriously considering an apple green/white/black scheme. I had posted a picture of it on our kitchen chalkboard and debated its various merits every time I walked through the kitchen. However, while I did love the apple green — So modern! So organic! Such great contrast! — it just wasn’t exactly what I had envisioned for our wedding.

To be honest, I couldn’t resist the siren song of my favorite color: pink. Every time I saw pictures from a wedding that used any shade of pink as a color, I would just feel happy. Plus, the idea of carrying pink peonies down the aisle filled me with all sorts of giddiness. So, our color scheme will be black mixed with various shades pink. I’ve promised Mr. French Fries that pink will be used as an accent, not as a main color, and he’s on board with the plan. My goal here is to make sure that this doesn’t turn into a wedding straight out of the Barbie Dream House.

So, without further ado… my newest inspiration board. It’s one of the first ones I remember saving from Snippet & Ink, and it’s been a favorite of mine for a long time.

We’re using this as a jumping off point, but I think it’s a good start! Did you feature your favorite color for your wedding color scheme, or did you choose something completely different?

Very classy - not BArbie at all.

Our color scheme (brown & blue) is totally based around my favorite colors. I couldn’t help it!

Awww, the title of your post reminds me of one of my all-time favorite shows: Ed. (Bowling alley lawyer? :) Any other fans out there?) Love all those soft pinks!

I love that inspiration board. So elegant! I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to work in my favorite color (robin’s egg blue) into our color scheme, but I just couldn’t make it work the way I wanted to, so we dropped it.

Love it!!! :) I was going all over the place with colors….the more you look, the more ideas you find, and the harder it is to make a decision! ( now we decided on a small wedding….so no “colors” necessary!)

Nope, not at all. I love black with red as a strong second, however, the color was totally derived from the season. I am getting married in May and it’s spring and summer, vibrant, bright….that was my inspiration.

Hilariously enough, my hubby and I started with black, cream, and apple green. And then I added pink! So our wedding was like a combo of your two boards!

LOVE the color combo… this might be in part to the fact that ours was the same with splashes of silver to add the ‘bling’ factor! :-)

I love this inspiration board! It is so sweet and romantic while still being fresh. We’ll probably do a color scheme based off a table Amy Atlas did!

Surprisingly, we aren’t really using my favorite color pink. I saw this photo of a centerpiece in a magazine when I had been engaged less than 24 hours. I was in - hook, line and sinker. I would have never thought I would use reds, wines and definitely not purple, but it looks so good as the accent colors to my black and white wedding. :)

for just pink accents, that board has a lot of pink. :-)
I’m not usually a fan of black and pink together, but the blush/peony pink with black is classy!
