Bridesmaids’ Dresses

October 9th, 2009 @ 2:56 pm by Miss Rainbow

While shopping for my bridesmaids’ dresses, I end up wanting every cute silver dress I find for myself! It’s driving me nuts! I DO want them to look good, after all… even if I AM a bit jealous that I won’t be the one wearing fabulously chic little grey dresses like these:

gray_bridesmaids

How fabulous are these? I would love for all 3 of my girls to have different dresses, but apparently it’s very difficult to find 3 different silvers that go well together and aren’t obscenely expensive. One is either too blue, too dark, too taupe, too… something! BM dresses are basically the bane of my existence at this point, can you tell?

BMs

This dress is my current obsession. How absolutely scrumptious. Again, a bit of an odd shade of silver, so all the girls would more that likely have to wear the exact same dress, which I’m not opposed to, but it’s not my first choice, either. Decisions, decisions.

This was the first silver dress i fell in love with. It fit me perfectly. Do you see where I’m going with this? How perfect would this dress be for a rehearsal dinner? *Cough, cough*

How retro “Alice in Wonderland” is this one? Ugh, love it. It looked absolutely crapalicious on me so i didn’t have to worry about wanting it for myself, but on BM Tiny, it was ADORABLE. I mean, I basically wanted to put her in my pocket it was so cute. Why do they make this so hard?

So you see, I’m basically back at square one. Actually, I don’t know if I ever LEFT square one. My search for BM dresses has basically been on constant loop. It’s like Groundhog Day but without a cute furry groundhog to take my mind off of everything.

Have you experienced any BM dress envy/issues/confusion, and if so, how did you deal?

Hooray! I am having a similar color for my BMs! I am letting them choose the style as long as it is a light pewter dress from JCrew:)! I love the ones you chose, especially the first picture! And I think you should definitely get the last dress for your rehearsal dinner. It will be a nice way to have a little connection to your bridesmaids. And it’s a nice excuse to buy a gorgeous dress!

I still haven’t figured out what we’re doing for BM dresses. I haven’t even mentioned it to anyone other than my MOH, so…um, I guess I’m avoiding it!

Those grey dresses are so cute, love them, especially the first few!

I gave up that battle- of BM dresses, a long time ago. I have always told the girls they could pick any dress, in the color I decided. But somehow they convinced me to change the color, twice! We finally came to an agreement. They will be wearing black dresses of their choice, as long as they show me in advance.

Those are some cute dresses for sure. I’m just going to have all my girls wear the same dress (even though my MOH hates everything I choose. . . my sister and I never quite see eye to eye) to avoid this problem. (And I secretly want everyone to match)

I think you are completely justified in buying yourself a little gray number for the various wedding-related parties you’ll have! I love the idea of bridesmaids in shades of gray—so chic!

@MissDane:
the top left is my absolute fave, by Max and Cleo, I searched for it everywhere, and unfortunately it looks like they don’t make it anymore! :(

I have grey dresses for my bridesmaids too! They are all picking any dress they want, and so far 3 of the 6 are dressed and ready. :)

I’m paying for my sisters BM dress & I told her I get to keep it after the wedding lol.

I love the first pic of dresses *drool*. Are your BMs going to have matching dresses or all different styles Miss. Rainbow?

OMG, that Nordstrom dress is *adorable*! I can totally see why you have BM dress envy :) For my BMs, I’m just having them buy “a knee-lengthish dress in purple, preferably a darker shade.” And I guarantee that I’ll end up with dress envy, since I loooooooove purple. Mostly, though, I’m just hoping they’ll be able to wear it again.

My MOH (no BMs) and I also picked out a light pewter, strapless J. Crew dress on sale, but it ended up being way too big in the bust. We decided to return it and see what else we find before next August.

I love all the grey combos though! They’re all very cute!

All are so beautiful. I love the last one (Alice in Wonderland). I think I’ll have to try it on for my engagement party. I love it!

LOVE the first one! So cute! Nordstrom has a great selection.

I wouldn’t worry about getting the EXACT shade of silver….I think it looks really cool to have different shades and different dresses. :)

Check out Simple Silhouettes! SO cute! I actually bought a short dress here for my wedding. :)

It’s so hard to find coordinated, but different dresses that look good together, and gray/silver has so many variations. You’ve got some cute ones though, so good luck.

I love the different shades of silver idea. That last one is gorg! Why not go with that for BM Tiny and then try to find others to work around it for your other BMs?
