For whatever reason, as soon as I entered the world of wedding planning/blogs/craziness, one little thing stuck out to me: the card box. Random. Yes, I know. Such a small detail. Most brides put the card box on to the back burner and deal with more important issues first (uhm.. finding a dress anyone?), but I couldn’t get all those cute little card boxes out of my head! Oh, the joys of being Type-A.

I think another big part of wanting to make the card box ASAP: once it was done, I could no longer change the theme/colors/etc. At least, this was my rationale at that moment. I’m a bit indecisive, to say the least. The FI and I had multiple wedding color schemes and had mulled over oh… hundreds of invitations. Since we were in location limbo, we couldn’t order the invites and I desperately needed to be able to say, “Okay, I spent money on something that has a definite color scheme, so I can’t change it anymore!” Can you tell I was driving myself crazy?
So, one day I was perusing Ross looking for crystal and cut glass for our centerpieces (more on that later!) and I stumbled upon this lonely little box:
Purple, hydrangea, French, PERFECT! It looked at me lovingly and said, “Here I am, buy me! Love me! DIY me!” So, like any sane person, I did what the box asked. I took it home, gathered some supplies, and went to work!
About an hour and a couple of burned fingers later: Voila! Isn’t she pretty?
Did you get hung up on any particular detail for your wedding and couldn’t rest until it was done?
