I have loved Martha Stewart from the first time I caught her on tv. I come from a long line of knitters, sewers, cookers, bakers, and all around resourceful DIYers.
Martha has always been able to bring these things to a level where they are understandable, do-able, and beautiful. Her designs span the years, keeping a classic touch on even the most modern ideas.

And, let’s be honest, Martha Stewart is the Queen BEE of DIY!

Ever since I got my grubby pre-adolescent mitts on my mother’s copy of Martha Stewart Entertaining - the original edition, with a very young Martha on the cover doing her best Norman Rockwell impression - I have loved, loved, loved Ms. Stewart. I even made a Chinese banquet for my parents’ anniversary at age 13, in an effort to copy her daughter Alexis’s efforts at the same age (somehow, I imagine that Alexis’s attempt went better than mine).

Martha Stewart Weddings is the only bridal magazine I read, because it offers concrete advice on crafts and food that I can actually follow. Say what you will about Martha’s attention to detail, but everything she offers is thoroughly tested and designed so that should you attempt her project, you will succeed. The incredible meringue-frosted cake in the most recent issue was the starting point for my entire wedding vision.

Plus, we’re both Jersey girls!

I’ve always been crafty and Martha Stewart has been really helpful translating my childish paper cutting and gluing to making things or real quality. MS Weddings is by far my favorite wedding magazine because it focuses on more homegrown and DIY weddings which I love instead of some of the more elaborate unreachable stuff. I savor every page of her magazines and dream of re-creating every craft. LOVE!

I have always loved how Martha is crafty and domestic while having an air of sophistication. Growing up, my mom made everything for my sister and I. Going to a Catholic school, those sort of home-made things were just not cool enough. Though I always loved them and am the crafty girl I am today because of them, I hated the bad rap that home-made items god.

She really cleared the way to make the DIY revolution something that is both hip and even chic! I mean, the woman served time and most of what we remember is how cool her knit poncho was when she walked out!

I’m #8. Forgot to log in:
Even though most people are fans of Martha because of craftiness (and boy do I admire that, as I’m not very crafty), but I am a Martha fan because she is fiercely independent. I love that in people. She represents what a strong modern should be. I would love to attend this event!

I love Martha Stewart for her gardening skills, and the fact that her garden is both beautiful and functional. I truly envy her green thumb! I would absolutely love to attend this event! I am getting married in October 2010 and would enjoy a little Martha inspiration as we start the planning process!

Martha inspires me to find my inner craft goddess. I love viewing the incredible ideas she & her team come up with, and watching how real brides make it come to life. I am a huge fan and hope that I can incorporate some of her ideas into my own wedding. I would love to be at this event!!!

I love Martha for her creativity and also, her subtle, dry humor. I have many of her kitchen items from Macys and would be lost without them. I will be in NYC that weekend celebrating my one year anniversary and my birthday! It was meant to bee (hehe)

I think Martha is great! She’s incredibly driven and intelligent and has been able to overcome a lot. I love Martha Stewart Weddings - I think it’s the most classic and elegant bridal magazine out there.

I have been with my fiance for 2 years next month, but we knew it was forever after only dating 5 months and moving in together soon after. When it came to picking out the ring I went with Nick to the jeweler and picked out my ring and so it wasn’t overly surprising when he proposed 2 weeks later. I’ve been planning this wedding for far longer than we’ve been engaged, but I wanted something to be extra special when the proposal FINALLY came and that was waiting to buy bridal magazines. I would look at them in every grocery store, drug store, and book store, but I would never ever purchase because that was the one thing that I was saving for that special day. I was thrilled when he proposed and insisted he drive me straight to the bookstore so I could buy every wedding magazine in the place! But there was one that I’d been waiting my whole life to buy…Martha Stewart Weddings. I still have a year and a week to go before our wedding so while it still feels like forever to wait before the wedding, the silver lining is that I still have a few wonderful issues of MSW to go while I am still a bride!!! I love everything from the photo spreads to the DIY projects in it. I have to say I don’t know if I’ll be able to stop buying it after I’m married!!! Good thing I have an umarried younger sister!!

I would totally love to be able to attend this show!!! Please sign me up for this contest. I love MSL Magazine, and now also MSWeddings now that I am planning a wedding. I love that she always makes D.I.Y. so easy — you always feel like you can create things that will look as beautiful as when she makes them … she’s a genius!

I have been a fan of Martha Stewart since I’ve known about her. I can’t cook, but I love learning about her entertaining ideas. Now that I’m engaged, MSW has been my main source of ideas (especially DIY) and inspirations. To stay within our budget, I’m doing a lot of things myself including centerpieces made of tissue pomanders.

I went and saw a taping of the Martha Stewart show, and was surprised at how down to earth she is. Yes, she can build a frilly, lovely napkin ring in the blink of an eye and built an empire telling the rest of us how to do so, but she’s not stuffy. She’s accessible and fun- and she plays rap music during commercial breaks!

Love it! I am a Martha fan because of what she does for Halloween every year. :) Halloween is my Christmas and I wish I could do every craft that she does, but I’m not that talented. :)

I love MSW! I just got married a few months ago and Martha Stewart Wedding was such a big source of inspiration to me! My sister and I would always look through MSW for their DIY ideas to see how we can have a beautiful and elegant wedding to fit my budget. We ended up making all the invitations, placecards, printed materials, gift boxes, etc. I also look to MSW for ideas on color palettes, themes, and designs when making cakes for my cake business!

I am a Martha Stewart fan because my mother and I bonded together over watching her shows and replicating her crafty ideas!
I suppose it paid off, because everyone is always complimenting us on our handmade decorations or wonderful cooking.

I love MSW! I love that the weddings featured in her magazines feature thoughtful touches or “good things” ;) that aren’t necessarily expensive, but make such a huge impact in terms of style and are easily created by most of her readers. I’ve never felt like I needed to have a huge budget to recreate some of the weddings featured in her magazine - just creativity and time!

Martha Stewart has given my mother, sister, and myself something to bond over. Since we were little girls, my mother used her crafts and baking ideas to get us excited about creating something together. Now that I am getting married, my mother and I have already used her lace templates in my STD. After I get married, I hope to look to Martha for inspiration for preparing for the holidays with my own family. I would love the opportunity to go to her party and get to experience the Plaza Hotel for the first time… plus, being in Jersey, I can easily get to NYC for the date of the party!!

Oh, Martha Stewart Weddings. What beauty. :) This magazine has been a part of my life for a long time. When I was back in high school, I spent one Friday evening learning how to make a bouquet of roses from its pages (a little sad, I know :) . Even living in Morocco after college, I had my parents bring over the most current issue! So, after years of devouring this magazine, I was finally able to plan my own wedding last July. MSW guided me through finding everything…our stationary, the bouquets and ribbon ( based off of Lily and John Harrington’s wedding), our favor boxes, and much more…the resource pages were my friend. I love that the magazine has always featured a variety of weddings…small and large, fancy and rustic. Here’s to 15 more years! :)

Okay, I started planning my wedding when I was about 14… and I’d always beg my mom to buy me bridal magazines so I could dream about what my wedding would be like. Hands down, MSW takes the cake when it comes to beautiful wedding inspiration!

Now I’m 27 and married, but I still have a big heart for (or obsession with) weddings! I design wedding invitations and other related paper goods, and MSW is a huge inspiration for me :)

Martha Stewart thrills me because it’s as if it’s a woman’s [and some man's, aka: my fiance] dream come true. every Martha Stewart style has this whimsical effect that makes fantasies into realities.
and i can’t believe this but even though i’m a CA bride-to-be, i WILL be in NYC October 17-20th!

I’ve loved Martha since the first time I saw her on tv when I was a little girl. She rocks my world… I know people mock her, and I know I get mocked for it… but she’s so kick a** and I absolutely adore her. Martha is soooo dang talented and dare I say it… I’d be lost without her!

I love Martha because she’s so complex — she’s warm and earthy and crafty, and yet such a cool-headed businesswoman. She was a smart fashion model. Ms. Stewart inspires admiration and parody, often at the same time. She’s consistently put out an aesthetic that makes anyone drool; her magazine makes everything from sandwiches to fabric to plants look fascinating. Martha has made me covet, purchase, and most importantly of all create. And her diy weddings website has amazing free and easy to use ideas!!

It’s hard not to be a Martha fan, her love for all things beautiful has inspired so many brides and non brides in the past 15 years. I think that many people in general can relate to her because we all have a little Martha inside us. It was her that taught us as young girls to be a perfect host and pay attention to the details.

I really admire her for all the inspiration she has given so many in the past 15 years, and I hope to be able to spend that night with her in The Plaza.
