Miss Frozen Yogurt's Picture
Miss Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.

Invitation Extras

October 13th, 2009 @ 6:06 pm by Miss Frozen Yogurt

Has anyone else become obsessed with all the little intricacies they can include in their invitation suite? No? It’s just me? Seriously, before I started wedding planning I just considered the actual invitation and the response card. Now? There are phrases such as envelope liners, hang tags, and Gocco that I never thought I would mutter just flying out of my mouth with reckless abandon. It continues to shock me. So what’s my latest must have?

Envelope Liners:

These were made with vintage wallpaper.

I love the sweet little detail with the initials.

Hang Tag:

I know that our guests have the magnet with our website on it, but how else can I incorporate this adorable little hang tag like Mrs. Cowboy Boot did if I don’t throw our website at them again?

And then my favorite thing is what I’m calling the couple information card:

100 layer cake

How sweet, right? And for the guests going to your wedding that may not know you well as a couple, I think this little card will give them the Cliff’s Notes version of your relationship. I’ve already started dreaming up what little tidbits I would want to include about Mr. Fro Yo and me.

Have you found any little details that you hope to include with your invitation suite?

I get so obsessed with that stuff, then I get frustrated because I can’t decide on ONE thing. :) Our wedding is going to be such a giant, fantastic (I hope!!) spaz fest. I just need our invites to set the tone!

P.S. I’m totally in love with the last one. I’ve sent that to *so* many people for inspiration pics.

I just recently blogged about the first liners too - I don’t have the willpower to source that much vintage wallpaper, but damn they’re amazing.

Lol! Glad to see I am not the only girl who frisked her guy- Jessica of Jessican and Tad did too. :-) I am also obsessed with invitation suites you aren’t alone! Right now we’re 100% focused on getting the Save the Dates made though (Gocco!).

It’s these little things that make a HUGE difference and keep your guests talking. They can be so time consuming but they do stand out.

I kept adding little additions to our invites up until the very end! Envelope liners, belly bands, hang tags, wrap-around labels - ack!

Awww the couple card is adorable! I wish I’d seen that in time…. can’t wait to see your version as it’s such a sweet way to get an idea of the couple getting married just like you said.

I’d actually recommend including the hang tag with your wedding website again in the invitation. A lot of people ignored/didn’t see the wedding website on our save-the-dates.

I’m with fiftyfootbride here - I just can’t get over how many details you can fit - and then I have problems deciding which details I want to fit in … and then I realize I want one of everything and that people are going to have to deal with my wedding that won’t be color coordinated, theme-eriffic, or anything of that sort! It’ll just be a whole mess thrown together to make something awesome, right?

It’s hard to narrow down what to include. The downside to having a long engagement is that you can think about that stuff for (literally) well over a year.

That being said, my heart skips a beat whenever I see envelope liners.

I LOVE the couple information card. That would make an adorable STD if it wasn’t formal enough for your invite. Oh just LOVE that. And the hang tag is an awesome idea.

I love that couple information card! That’d be something fun for guests to read during cocktail hour too!
