Mrs. Ramen's Picture
Mrs. Ramen, Phoenix Age and Occupation: 26, Optometry Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Industrial Designer Engagement Date: January 3, 2009 Wedding Date: December 19, 2009 Venue: Phoenix Art Museum About Me: I'm an SF-born, Seattle-raised girl, transplanted to Phoenix where I'll be getting married, and planning all the way from Orange County where I go to school (yes, it feels as crazy as it sounds). I loooooove Yogurtland, am slightly very obsessed with all things paper, am heavily addicted to wedding blogs, deeply desire a puppy, thoroughly enjoy cooking, cry when I watch (almost all) movies, thrive on solo car-karaoke, can't stop being sarcastic, am neurotic about taking pictures of almost everything I eat before I eat it, and aspire to travel the world. My super-talented fiance and I are attempting to DIY a majority of our massive (~350 guests) "clean & modern, yet romantic, but completely unexpected, with a teeny dash of vintage" wedding, stay within our not-so-massive budget, and somehow get a really luxe (but still fun!) look/feel at the same time. In music terms (since we're both really into music) think Coldplay meets Motown meets Kanye meets Sinatra.
About Mrs. Ramen

Our invites are finished being pressed!!!

We Interrupt You for a Brief Announcement: : wedding invitations stationery Z204129 sept-oct 09 072

Yes, I am proficient with MS Paint. And this is just 1/2 of one of the stacks I received… sigh. LOVE THEM!

I just got our envelopes over the weekend so I could start addressing them (by hand… more on that little bit of insanity/epic fail another day…), and a tiny little part of our invitation suite - the rest will be here early this week!

I’ll be spending the rest of the week printing a few insert cards, cutting, assembling, and getting our ~ 215 babies ready to send out! I’m SOOOO EXCITED!

A little tease for the road….

OH! And I have an “I love USPS!” story! Our printer told me that the envelopes would be delivered Saturday morning. Of course, I had to work 7:30 AM - 1 PM at an event at my school. And OF COURSE, the mail comes between 11AM-noonish. So before I left for work, I crossed my fingers, and wrote a nice little note asking the mail carrier to either leave the package (that was insured and needed a signature) OR to give me a call so I could run home from school to sign for it (I live really close to school). I decided to run home for a minute at 10:30 AM, and saw the mailman walking down the street! So I stopped and asked him if he had any deliveries for me. He didn’t, but told me there was another delivery coming later… but that they couldn’t call me.

Bummed and dejected, I walked back to work. Then, 12:15 came around and I got a phone call… from the USPS guy!!! He called me and waited for me to run home to sign for the package! It was SOOOOO nice. It made my day better, especially since I had to get up at 7AM.

How nice! I’ve never had that great a service for a delivery… I usually have to drive to the post office or the UPS distribution center (etc.) because they never come when I am home. ;)

What super mailman! My little brother went to basic training 6 weeks ago and seems to write letters or mail things that always cost more than just one forever stamp. Several times I got letters stamped that said “Postage Due” but never an amount, or an envelope to put the correct postage in. Last week, I ran into my mailman, and he had been paying the postage due for me because the letters all had the US Army as the return address. I baked him cookies on Saturday to show him how much I appreciate him :)
