Oh How You Sparkle! DIY Project

October 16th, 2009 @ 1:37 pm by Mrs. Apple Cider

There are SOOOOO many details and pictures coming over the next few weeks, but I wanted to share a few more projects that I haven’t yet shared.

Like many other couples, we decided to go the sparkler route for our send off. They make for amazing pictures. Of course, I really wanted the sparklers to not be just sitting there, so I used some of my leftover wood grain paper and printed the words “thank you for adding SPARKLE to our day” and cut out 1” by 8” tags for the sparklers to sit in.

I created a template in Microsoft Word and just printed them on the handy home printer.

I also wanted the matches to have a little something special, so I created some little matchbooks. More on that to come.

(Photo by the amazing Anna Naphtali - lots more to come!)

Did you use sparklers at your wedding? How did you display them?

What a gorgeous display!! I’m not married yet, but I’m probably going with a sparkler send off too. Aaand I might steal your display idea if I give myself enough DIY time. :) Thank you for the eye candy!

That’s so cool! I soul really like to do that but I’m worried about some guests LOL. I think we’ll do streamers which will look just as cool!

Too cute! That’s a wonderful way to add a twist to the sparklers and matches! I still love that paper.

I will have sparklers! We actually explained the significance of why we choose sparklers. The FI & I have been on vacations out of the country twice & both times we unexpectantly saw fireworks, so fireworks are our kinda our romantic thing :)

I am so impressed by all your craftiness! I am terrified of sparklers, so we won’t be using them. But if we did, I would beg you to make me crafty things like this. : )

Great job with the sparkler display.

I’m going to go pout in the corner because we aren’t allowed to use sparklers. My mother is convinced everyone will set each other on fire.

Every time you post something, I get excited. Those sparklers are great. We can’t have any ’cause we are outside in at a winery but I wish we could.

SO cute! A friend that used sparklers purchased monogrammed matchbooks and slipped the sparklers in them.
