Miss Lamb's Picture
Miss Lamb, Norfolk Age and Occupation: 25, Homeland Security Consultant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Graduate Student Engagement Date: January 2009 Wedding Date: January 2010 Venue: Trinity Presbyterian Church/Harrison Opera House About Me: I’m a Homeland Security Consultant with a tendency towards pulling office pranks, taking lunch breaks, and drinking Wawa shakes. I’m also an English major with a serious obsession with alliteration and rhymes. While I’m not keeping America safe, I’m training for half marathons and the Escape from Alcatraz swim. Or moving for the third time this year. Or baking. Or wedding crafting. Or crying about wedding planning. All the while, I’m getting myself into Lucille Ball-esque scrapes and making Jim Carey-esque faces. Our big fat Czech/Baptist/Jewish/Italian wedding is a combination of vintage eclectic, DIY, and little spoonful of sugar from our Event Coordinator. It’s going to be a Norfolk flavored wedding with the verve of an only-daughter-blow-out bash!
About Miss Lamb

A Win Win Win

October 17th, 2009 @ 4:30 pm by Miss Lamb

Buying your jewelry from a store where it’s manufactured is a win situation. You get what you want. (I frequently do this.)

Buying your jewelry from someone who hand made it is a win win situation. You get what you want and the artisan gets to create what they love. (Yay! I do this sometimes, and sometimes I get to be the artisan!)

Buying your jewelry from someone who hand made it and the money directly assists them in raising their standard of living is a win win win. (Winning all around in a much more meaningful way than wearing a tuba playing baby t-shirt.)

The two following organizations are ones with which either my mom or I have personally shopped. They both help women in desperate situations build their lives - a win win win situation, for sure. Not only do I love wearing my jewelry, but I get so many compliments that I’m able to share the cause.

Night Light International

Check out these beauts that would be awesome for a beach wedding, a shower, or with jeans!

Amani Ya Juu

This necklace from Amani would be a great option for a casual wedding or event.

Or how about these as shower gifts and wedding presents?!

The whimsical napkin rings are hand carved and the banana leaf box is hand constructed. The apron is hand batiked!

Have a win win win kind of day!

<3 <3 <3 The batik apron. I love doing batik (though I haven’t in about 5 years) and I love the results. I am a sucker for that look.

Great links! My fiancé’s family has ties to south africa and they haven’t been able to visit for a few years, so something like this would make for great gifts! Thanks!

HAHA! Love the title. ;)

(That was an intentional reference to The Office, right?)

Also, the blue bracelet is adorable!
