What TV shows do you have in common? What TV shows of each others’ can’t you stand?

Mrs. Cupcake - Together we’re both hooked on Mad Men, 30 Rock, The Office, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Entourage, and Glee. Our DVR is pretty jam-packed. :)

Shows I can only watch when Mr. C is not around to make snide comments: So You Think You Can Dance (I’m obsessed, in case you didn’t know), The Hills, The City, Project Runway, Oprah, Lost, Sex and the City (whenever I can catch reruns), and Access Hollywood. He pretty much can’t stand reality shows, but as you can see, I have quite a few in my repertoire. He also loathes Access Hollywood (or Extra… they’re kind of one and the same) but if I have had a bad day, he’ll let me watch in silence without making any comments (which I know is slightly killing him inside. He’s so good to me).

He watches a lot of ice hockey, which I can tolerate for about 12 seconds before I start whining, so he usually watches that in the bedroom while I take over the living room. Did you know that hockey pretty much lasts all year long? Lucky me.

Mrs. Penguin - We both love Top Chef, The Office, The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, Iron Chef, Check Please Bay Area, Rick Steves’ shows, Dogs 101 (yes we’re dog freaks), and reruns of Arrested Development. Mrs. Bee and Mrs. Lemon got us hooked on How I Met Your Mother, which we also love! I’m really thankful for TV shows we both enjoy. I’m even warming him up to Glee! Mr. Pengy enjoys the singing!

I really loathe Pardon The Interruption (PTI), and House, MD. I stopped watching Grey’s Anatomy after the 2nd season, but Mr. Peng still watches it and I think it’s weird of him because I don’t watch it. It’s one of those shows that if you watch it with your girlfriend or wife it’s OK, but if you are a male and watch it on your own it’s slightly odd. Mr. Peng hates Jon and Kate Plus 8 and Everybody Loves Raymond, which I like.

I have a very low tolerance for Mr. Peng watching shows I don’t like in my presence. I’m totally open to him watching any sport he wants, live, because I understand it’s important to watch sports when they happen (which means, all weekend long, and Monday and Tuesday night, too… and now with the playoffs… every night!!!). So if he flips on House when I’m home, I go crazy and flip it to something we both like.

Mrs. Gloss - Common: Office, 30 Rock, House, Big Bang Theory, Lost, Iron Chef, National Geographic stuff

I cannot stand watching sports or Cops (which he loves).

He cannot stand watching Gossip Girl, Bones, Glee, The Hills (or basically anything on MTV), or anything wedding related (which I still watch).

Miss Potato Chips - We have a mutual love for most things on the Food Network, particularly Good Eats and Unwrapped. Other shows we love include How I Met Your Mother, The Office, The First 48, and The Haunting.

Then we have shows we watch ALONE. Me: Gossip Girl, most things on VH1. Him: Anything on the History Channel. And MythBusters. He’s obsessed.

Mrs. Quiche - This may sound sad, but I LOVE sitting at home and watching TV with Mr. Quiche Our favorite shows to watch together are How I Met Your Mother, The Office, 30 Rock, Nip/Tuck, Entourage and Top Chef. The shows I HAVE to watch alone are Gossip Girl (I can’t quit that show, no matter how hard I try!) and Brothers & Sisters. I couldn’t care less about the majority of political talk-type shows that he watches…

Miss Moonbeam - We don’t have cable so the options are limited but we both like The Office and 30 Rock. There is also a channel called Universal Sports that comes in through our HD antenna that has triathlons, cycling and all kinds of ‘other’ sports that we both like to watch.

He hates all the reality TV I watch, but I’ve sucked him into Biggest Loser. I can’t get him into Top Model though.

We watch a lot of movies and I’m forever trying to get him to watch something other than a horror flick.

Mrs. Bear Cub - TV shows are pretty limited in Chile (cable is way too expensive), so what we do watch is pretty selective. When we need a TV fix, we watch The Office, House, Star Trek TNG reruns, West Wing reruns, and The Daily Show. Plus, we love a good Nature documentary!

Mrs. Deviled Egg - Neither of us watch a whole lot of TV, but I’d say our favorite show to watch together is The Deadliest Catch. Other shows we like, but never watch regularly, are The Office, American Idol, SNL, TMZ, Dirty Jobs and Seinfeld reruns.

He’s pretty good about watching along when I’m checking out Grey’s Anatomy, Dancing with the Stars or reruns of The O.C. I try my best to watch Sportscenter, Entourage and The Daily Show with him. I can’t stand watching baseball on TV (or listening to it on the radio) so that’s rough for me since he’d probably watch baseball all day, every day if he could. At least we both like to watch football!

Mrs. Bunny - We mostly watch online since we don’t have cable.

I like Project Runway, CSI and CSI: NY, and Survivor.

He likes Sons of Anarchy, Legend of the Seeker and other geeky/manly shows.

We both like House, Bones, and we’ll sometimes watch The Office together. Mostly we watch movies and can usually find something we’ll agree on. I think we might start watching True Blood since we’ve heard so many raves about it.

Mrs. Peep Toe - We watch way too much TV, but I can’t help it—I love being able to cuddle up together on the couch. Although sometimes Mr. Peep gets upset that I don’t laugh out loud as much as he does.

What he watches with me out of the house: Man vs. Food, and other Sci Fi stuff—I really don’t know since I am not home.

What he makes fun of me for watching: Brothers and Sisters, Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.

What we watch together: The Office, Glee, House, Weeds, Entourage, The Soup, and Top Chef.

P.S. - We totally spent Saturday night watching Animal Planet.

Mrs. Mary Jane - Mr. Mary Jane and I don’t have cable, and our TV doesn’t get reception to allow us to watch non-cable networks. (That’s a fancy way of saying: we don’t watch TV.) DVDs are another story. We own various shows on DVD: from The Simpsons, South Park and Futurama to Lost and Stargate Atlantis. I don’t think we disagree on many shows or movies: Mr. Mary Jane doesn’t mind a good chick flick or drama, and I’m cool with watching some shoot-em-up action or sci-fi. Our only stipulation? It’s got to be a good story.

Mrs. Joey - TV we have in common: UW basketball and football, Seahawk games, whatever NFL games are on Sunday and Monday night, Flight of the Concords, the West Wing, Veronica Mars, Entourage, the Wire, No Reservations, Top Chef, Iron Chef, Project Runway, the Office, 30 Rock, the Simpsons, Arrested Development.

We watch TV sporadically and mostly on DVD because we can’t keep up during the season and we don’t get HBO, Showtime or Bravo.

What he watches without me: Austin City Limits on PBS, lots of American History documentaries, Mad Men, Deadwood, every other college football and basketball game on TV. I don’t mind the games, I just don’t pay attention like he does.

He won’t watch Glee, SATC, Heroes, or Friends.

Miss Ramen - Together: Heroes, Lost (frustrating, but I need to see how it ends), Chuck, random home improvement shows, SYTYCD/ABDC (sometimes), Jon & Kate+8 until the drama…

Me: I don’t really watch TV because the TV doesn’t work - I just watch Friends DVDs.

Him: Probably some stupid anime. Does YouTube count?

In general, we will pretty much watch everything together. I try not to be too obsessed with TV (and I don’t really have much time for it) so I told Mr. R we can’t get into any other shows. Although I’d love to get all caught up with The Office, Scrubs, House, and HIMYM (all of my friends LOVE this show). Maybe someday after school is done I’ll be able to catch up. Sigh.

Mrs. Duckling - TV Shows in Common: The Office, Glee, Amazing Race, Lost, 24, Top Chef, Food Network

My Shows: Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, SYTYCD, Project Runway

His Shows: Survivor (I’ll watch sometimes), DIY Network, Discovery Channel, Planet Earth, Surf Movies, Fishing Shows (yeah I know…)

Mrs. Taffy - We are both crazy about Mad Men and 30 Rock! I’m not sure if I could get him to watch Project Runway, though.

Mrs. Dorsay - I love things like House, Law and Order SVU, CSI along with cheesy shows like Psych, Monk or Glee. Mr. D HATES them; he begs me to turn off House and refuses to watch Psych.

Meanwhile, he loves shows like Cops or America’s Toughest Prisons - which I can’t stand.

We’ve somehow managed to compromise on The Biggest Loser, the Office, Cougartown, and, wait for it… Tool Academy 2. I can’t believe I’m admitting that on Weddingbee.

Mrs. Mouse - We both love Arrested Development, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Battlestar Galactica, 30 Rock, Veronica Mars, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Intervention, football.

He can’t stand that I watch America’s Next Top Model, Gossip Girl, Degrassi, and Glee. Though I have to say, he is very sweet about not getting annoyed with me, even when I choose to watch these shows in marathon form.

I like pretty much everything he watches.

Mrs. Labrador - We currently don’t have cable (to help save a little extra for the wedding). But that’s okay, because nowadays you can watch ANYTHING on the internet. First up, FOOTBALL. Duh! ;) Then there’s the comedies: Arrested Development (they need to quit teasing me with the on-off-on again movie plans), South Park, Family Guy (we’re going to start watching Glee soon). As for the dramas: Nip/Tuck, LOST, Flash Forward, Grey’s (although it’s getting downright annoying lately), and the randoms: pretty much anything on Bravo, Food Network, ABDC on MTV, and YouTube videos (those count, right? Ha ha).

He can’t stand when I watch “trash” TV like the “trainwreck-you-can’t-look-away-from” dating shows on VH1. There’s nothing he watches that I don’t, but I do think it’s funny when asks ME if I want to catch up on Project Runway online. :D

Mrs. Yorkie - The shows that we make a point of watching together are The Office, 30 Rock, 24, Law & Order (in any of its flavors), The Biggest Loser, The Amazing Race and Jeopardy!. We usually get a healthy dose of baseball or football, depending on the season. Plus, we’re into historical and nature documentaries. (Did any of you catch Ken Burns’ The National Parks on PBS? We loved it!)

The only thing that he likes, which I refuse to watch, are those repulsive GEICO Caveman commercials. (Blech!) The one thing that I watch, which he usually falls asleep during, are NASCAR races. You read that right: I heart Tony Stewart! :)

Miss Lamb - Since we’re long distance right now, I don’t have a TV in my apt., and he’s overwhelmed with school - we just don’t watch TV at the moment. The only show we try to catch so that we can talk about later is The Office. If I’m visiting for the weekend, we’ll watch 2-3 football games (one college and 2-3 NFL games). I watch NCIS and Gray’s online.

Mrs. Bee - In common: Law and Order, CSI, Arrested Development, 24, Damages, Dexter, House, 30 Rock, Entourage, Bones, Psych, Monk.

He watches and I don’t: Smallville, Daily Show, Colbert Report

I watch and he doesn’t: Reality TV, HGTV, the Food Network, TLC (obsessed with I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant).

We watch a lot more TV now that we have a DVR. But since we have two DVRs, we watch shows separately on our own time, which isn’t as much fun!

Miss Dachshund - Mr. D doesn’t really watch television much. Like, at all. I, on the other hand, have a handful of shows that I hate to miss each week. He’s nice enough to sit through SYTYCD (I know he’ll like it in a few weeks); he has yet had to watch Glee, but he will in a few weeks!

He doesn’t like the only show at which I laugh out loud: The Office… he says he doesn’t think it’s funny. I think he’s insane.

He tends to like slapsticky, British humour type of shows. He made me watch an episode of The IT Crowd last time I was there… it was bad.

Oh! We do both watch True Blood!

Mrs. Mascara - In common: Top Chef, Grey’s Anatomy, SYTYCD (yes, he likes that show!), Brothers & Sisters, House, Weeds

He watches: ESPN and every sport imaginable. Sundays are taken up by golf in the summer and replaced by football when the season starts. I find other ways to occupy my time.

I watch: Gossip Girl, The Hills, Project Runway, Private Practice and E! or Bravo when I’m bored.

Mr. Mango - Common: The Office, Grey’s Anatomy (I secretly want to be nicknamed McBeefy), Who’s Wedding is it Anyway, The Real Housewives of… Any City, Project Runway, Flavor of Love series

I can’t stand when she watches: The Hills (I have more drama than that), America’s Next Top Model

She hates when I watch: Lost (What?! I really want to know what’s going on), Sons of Anarchy, Sopranos (reruns yo!), Law and Order, Iron Chef (Japanese version)

Ms. Swan - Shows I got him to watch that he now loves: Lost, Mad Men, Dancing with the Stars (don’t tell anyone I told you this), So You Think You Can Dance

Show he watches that I started to watch: How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory (although only occasionally), Whale Wars (only when he’s around)

Things he likes that I don’t/partially loathe: True Blood (yes, I know. I just can’t get into most horror and some sci-fi.), Sons of Anarchy, nature shows, Ghost Hunters and anything in that category where they pretend they can actually find ghosts, and Fringe

Things he watches that I don’t really care about: Swords (about swordfish fisherman), 30 Rock, Deadliest Catch, basketball, baseball

Things we watch in common: all the things above in the things I’ve gotten him to watch category, plus Entourage (when we had HBO), most football, Family Guy, Sportscenter, Pardon the Interruption (which I love!), Amazing Race.

This makes me think we watch a whole lotta TV… uh oh. Plus now that he’s back working, he’s works tons of hours so he is watching way less TV.

Mrs. Sunbeam - We are huge fans of The Office. Most nights Mr. Sunbeam will set up the laptop so we can stay in and watch an episode on our laptop before sleeping - we’re huge fans.

Surprisingly enough, Mr. Sunbeams loves reality TV. We’re talking So You Think You Can Dance, The Real World, Top Chef, Project Runway, etc. I can watch Top Chef and Project Runway, but if I miss an episode or five I don’t care. The Real World, on the other hand, I loathe it. It’s the same thing every time to me, as is most reality TV!

Shows I like that he never watches: Family Guy, Seinfeld, Private Practice, 30 Rock (just started watching!)

Our DVR is full of crap, but we really don’t get to watch much of it unless one of us is working late or has class, or the show happens to be The Office.

Mrs. Sprinkle - Because Mr. Sprinkle works in the television industry, we watch a lot of TV. This wasn’t always the case for me; I spent most of my adult life not even owning a TV. When we moved in together 3 years ago we bought one, and we even upgraded to cable a year later! Our TV watching time REALLY got out of control when we got free HBO for a year!

We both currently adore: True Blood, Mad Men, Bored to Death, Modern Family, Dexter, Nurse Jackie and pretty much every HBO series ever.

Our common guilty pleasures: Biggest Loser and ANTM (pretty much so we can read fourfour and laugh about the show together!)

Shows I Love: medical shows, shows on TLC, and Flipping Out.

Shows Mr. S Loves: The Wire, Sons of Anarchy, shows about cops and crimes and drugs and writers. He tries to make me watch them, and I am usually able to compromise and try at least one episode. I can’t say that he does the same for shows I enjoy, but that is totally understandable since they usually have titles like “Mermaid Girl” or “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant”.

Miss Parfait - Together, we watch How I Met Your Mother and Heroes (I close my eyes during the scary parts, and he tells me when it’s safe to open them again).

I watch Glee, So You Think You Can Dance, Wizards of Waverly Place (I know, I’m so lame), and Hannah Montana (seriously, I know). He doesn’t mind, but he won’t watch them with me.

He watches sports. Sigh. I tolerate it out of love.

Mrs. Rainbow - Common: House, The Office, Law & Order, CSI, Glee, Family Guy, Mythbusters, Top Chef, Iron Chef, Ace of Cakes… pretty much anything on Food Network.

Mr. R’s favorites: Venture Brothers, The Sopranos… other than that, he doesn’t watch much TV.

My favorites: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, ANTM, Project Runway… basically all the super-girly shows.

Ms. Sushi - Honestly, we both enjoy watching ridiculous reality shows (think Flava of Love, Jon & Kate plus 8, The Hills, etc.) and the History Channel (specifically shows about evolution, dinosaurs, etc.).

I personally LOVE the Discovery Health Channel. I enjoy watching before and after surgery shows, “I didn’t know I was Pregnant”… pretty much anything on Discovery Heath. Mr. Sushi CANNOT stand to watch any type of surgery show. On the other hand, he likes shows like MTV’s Scarred. I can watch surgeries, but I can’t watch people getting hurt, e.g., bones breaking or limbs turning in directions they shouldn’t be. He’s also a fan of the Science Channel, specifically shows on extraterrestrials, crop circles, UFOs and USOs, Big Foot… etc. Hehe. He’s a total believer in Big Foot.

Mrs. Lovebird - Common: How I Met Your Mother, Heroes, Lost, 24, House, The Office, 30 Rock, Law & Order, Entourage and Weeds. For some reason, we stopped watching HGTV…

Stuff Mr. Lovebird likes but I don’t: PTI, Sportcenter, Around the Horn, basically anything on ESPN!! I use Sundays to nap while he watches football.

Non-Mr. Lovebird-approved shows: Gossip Girl, American’s Next Top Model, Say Yes to the Dress, Wedded to Perfection, Drop Dead Diva, Jon & Kate Plus 8 (up until last season) and anything on Food Network.

Mrs. Espresso - We both watch all the same shows: Heroes, Lost, Office, 30 Rock, Top Chef, Community, Friends reruns, Grey’s Anatomy, and SYTYCD (once top 20 is picked). It’s movies that we are very different on. He likes scary ones and I like happy ones. :)

The only thing he won’t watch with me are old Gilmore Girls episodes. But I can’t help it—I love that show!

Mrs. Ballet Flat - We like to watch any and all football together, The Office, Flash Forward, Two and a Half Men and Shark Tank.

I’m sure he can’t stand my Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Brothers and Sisters, and the TV talent competitions. I can’t stand the MTV stuff he watches (like Real World vs. Road Rules), Survivor and Big Brother.

Mrs. Snow Pea - We don’t get to watch very much TV since we canceled cable, BUT we used to watch:

Common: Monk, Law and Order: SVU, House, Family Guy, and anything on Food Network.

Shows he can’t stand that I watch: Hours of Nancy Grace coverage, HBO’s Big Love (he doesn’t like the premise), Sex and the City (but he knows all their names) and Masterpiece Theatre.

Shows I can’t stand that he watches: Marathons of Mythbusters (he loves the demonstration, but I think the myths are often a bit thin to begin with), kickboxing, and forensic shows.

Mrs. French Bulldog - We also don’t have cable. We just haven’t set up in our new place yet. BUT, we watch TV all the time on the internet…

Common: Heroes, Mad Men, Food Network, HGTV, Burn Notice

Shows he watches that I can’t stand: Anything scary, Lifetime Movies (he is gonna kill me for that one)

Shows I watch that he can’t stand: Law & Order, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Glee (although to be fair, he’s never tried that one), Project Runway, Top Chef

Mrs. Pinot Noir - Common: Burn Notice, Psych, Top Chef, The Biggest Loser, Property Virgins (HGTV), House, baseball (Yankees)

Show he watches that I can’t stand: Wearhouse 13

Show I watch that he can’t stand: Grey’s Anatomy

Miss Frozen Yogurt - TV shows in common: Glee, Office, 30 Rock, American Idol

Shows he watches I can’t stand: Anything car related (I had no idea how many shows there were about cars until I met him!)

Shows I watch: Pretty much every show on Bravo: Rachel Zoe, Real Housewives, Project Runway (though it has moved to Lifetime). And then Gossip Girl, though I’m embarrassed to say that I cannot take that show out of my weekly line up!

Mrs. Dahlia - Common shows: Mad Men, 30 Rock, The Office, Glee. Most of the time at least one of us is out of town during the week, so we catch up on our favorites online on Saturday morning.

Shows he watches (i just asked him, since there are too many for me to keep track of) It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Fringe, Heroes, House, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate Universe (but he doesn’t like it), FlashForward (but he doesn’t like it), Trauma.

Shows I watch: None, really—but if I’m home by myself and Antiques Roadshow happens to be on, then I’ll watch.

Mrs. Dumpling - We both love The Office and Real Housewives of Atlanta. In fact, I think I was NeNe in a former life.

We both hate the news.

Ms. Champagne - We watch “our shows” every night religiously and usually DVR them so we can fast forward through the commercials.

We both love: So You Think you Can Dance, Biggest Loser, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Police Women of Broward County

He loves: Mike and Mike in the Morning, Anything on National Geographic Channel (usually about sharks or bears), pretty much anything on the History Channel

I love (and usually make him watch): Desperate Housewives, Glee!!!!!, Extreme Home Makeover, Ugly Betty

We don’t really hate any TV shows per se, but Champ refuses to watch Dancing with the Stars. I still don’t get it—it’s a fun show!

Mrs. Sea Breeze - I’m sure one of Mr Breezy’s secret wishes is that I liked TV as much as he does because it’s his favorite pastime. He especially adores those MTV reality shows like Is She Really Going Out With Him - the more terrible, the better.

Throughout the years, he’s tried to get me to like various shows but the only times he’s succeeded is with Lost, The Office and The Hills/The City. Yes folks, my husband turned me onto The Hills.

I only watch two other shows religiously, Being Erica and Grey’s Anatomy, but because there’s nothing really that he hates (oh wait… except maybe Road to Avonlea!) he’ll usually watch them with me.

~~~
What shows do you love together? What does your SO watch that you can’t stand, and vice versa?
Mr BC and I just started watching Defying Gravity too! It’s been airing on ABC recently - it’s a pretty good drama about astronauts (circa 2055) exploring several planets in our solar system!
Plus we looved Firefly, but that got canceled. boo. What’s up with only 1 season for awesome shows??
I watch all the shows he cant stand and there are very few if any shows he watches I cant stand.
Together we both watch Chuck, Top Chef, 24, Heroes, Entourage, Party Down and Flash Forward. He also watches some of my shows with me but more to make commentary on them and tell me how bad they are (I think he secretly likes them!)
I watch Desperate Housewives, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, Greek, 90210, Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty & Smallville (along with all the other shows previously mentioned). He somewhat watches OTH and Greek but makes fun of OTH and kinda likes Greek.
He watches Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, Simpsons and American Dad. I dont mind these shows much but I dont go out of my way to watch them either.
we both love: the office, lost, GLEE!, 24, jeopardy, mythbusters, house, friends and DVRing old episodes of home improvement. we’re trying out flash forward but so far we’re not impressed.
he loves: top gear, anything cars, anything with explosions, anything with crashes.
i love: what he calls my “simple decisions” shows. aka, people who need help with simple decisions, like what not to wear, say yes to the dress, house hunters, etc. i maintain that they are very important decisions and not simple! i also love gossip girls, dog whisperer, ace of cakes, and cake boss. :)
oooh, haha, this is a good question.
We both love: Pushing Daisies (so sad it’s over), and, um, movies.
He watches: The Venture Brothers (which I enjoy watching with him from time to time, but it’s not my thing), The Mighty Boosh, and Discover/History/etc channel shows (which I hate!)
I watch: Desperate Housewives (my fave and he despises it), Grey’s, Ugly Betty, Private Practice, Brothers and Sisters, etc etc. I actually am getting into Eastwick now, too which he hates even more than DH.
We watch (rather religiously, too): How I Met Your Mother and LOTS of Sports Center, plus we never miss an ND or 49er game. We are relatively entertained by Top Chef & Project Runway (yes, He watches, too) & use House Hunters & Property Virgins for “research” on getting our own home
I watch: Gossip Girl & Greek (my guilty pleasures)
He watches: Friday Night Lights & South Park (occasionally)
He likes reality TV (especially “Survivor”) and I prefer crime shows (my faves are “Criminal Minds”, “CSI: NY”, and “Law & Order: SVU”). We also like comedy shows like “How I Met Your Mother”. He loves “Dancing With the Stars”, and I am obsessed with “So You Think You Can Dance” (and the Canadian version). I hardly ever catch shows during their showing time (I prefer to watch them on the PVR), and he watches them live ’cause he only has a VCR, and saves it for special occasions when he knows he isn’t going to be able to watch a show.
So excited to see so many of the bees with a healthy love of The Office!
We love–The Office, Bones, NCIS, Chuck, The Mentalist, and Project Runway (he’ll watch it with me if it is on), and FRIENDS, Ace of Cakes, Good Eats
I love– GLEE!!!, Grey’s (he watched it with me until about S4), Private Practice, and Gilmore Girls (I have all 7 seasons)
Shows he loves– Sportscenter, Football (I watch all 49ers games, and tolerate it the most out of all sports), Basketball, and Baseball, Mythbusters, and Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives
This is a really cute post. We watch A LOT of TV. Together we watch: Mad Men, How I Met Your Mother, Top Chef, Modern Family, Lost, Fast Forward, The Office, 30 Rock, Project Runway and Psych. I watch The Biggest Loser, Glee, Jon and Kate and Say Yes to the Dress on my own. He watches science-y shows like Nova on his own.
Fun topic! We have our shows that we use as a “dinner and a show” date nights at home. We look forward to it every week!
Common: Top Chef, Mad Men, The Office, Parks and Rec, Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Things he watches: We both love history, but sometimes he watches super boring and obscure shows on the History channel that I’m not into. But that’s rare. Sometimes too much news/financial shows, and it gets me down so I can’t watch as much. I cured him of the habit he had when we met of watching extreme sports bloopers shows. So thankful those are done.
Things I watch: cooking shows (tho he enjoys the meals I cook from watching), wedding shows, and The Hills and The City - he calls it mindless and the lowest form of entertainment. Oh and that the people are ignorant. I agree with all these statements, but I watch occasionally.
What we watch together: Mad Men!, 30 Rock, Tori & Dean Home Sweet Hollywood, How I Met Your Mother, Housewives- Atlanta (he’s gonna kill me for saying that.) Little People Big World.. anything on TLC except Jon and Kate. Bobby Flay anything…
His annoying shows: his soaps! (General Hospital & One Life To Live, lol), WWE Raw.. two totally yet equally annoying shows:) Bleach, MTV reality shows.
What I flip to when he’s not looking: Gossip Girl (I need my weekly Chuck/Blair fix), Project Runway, anything on Bravo, SATC re-runs, The View, the news
@tea: Boy, he’s sure missed out on some hilarious stuff. Hope he gives it another chance. (Kind of reminds me of Liz Lemon and her deal breakers!) :o)
We’re kind of wicked broke, so we tend to veg out on the couch and watch a bunch of TV, too. And if we find a series we like that has prior seasons on Netflix, all bets are off. We’ve seen every episode of The Office (our favorite) and are partway through Season 4 of LOST.
Together: The Office, LOST, CSI (just the Vegas version… we hate Miami), Rescue Me, World News with Charlie Gibson (we like when George Stephanopolous subs for Charlie, but will miss Charlie terribly when he retires), Mythbusters and just about anything else on Discovery, Ace of Cakes (Duff has worn a hockey jersey from the FI’s tiny D3 college a few times!), and we get really sucked in to shows on the History Channel about obscure junk
Him: Saturday and Sunday mornings are for PowerBlock on Spike. I’ll watch with him, but I’m not as wild about Xtreme 4×4 as he is. I really like the muscle car shows, though :)
Me: I could watch Food Network for hours on end. We’ll watch Good Eats and maybe some Iron Chef together. I used to be big into Project Runway, but can’t bring myself to watch it on Lifetime. Same goes for SATC, but he watched with me sometimes. I like 30 Rock, but he isn’t quite as interested.
We like most of the same TV, I guess! There really isn’t anything either of us refuse to watch.
