About Mrs. Cloud

Brother Cloud = Slave Labor

October 26th, 2009 @ 2:55 pm by Mrs. Cloud

When I had my first stress moment about the wedding (and when I say stress moment, of course I really mean complete and utter major freak out with tears and screaming) my fabulous family stepped up as always. They are pretty awesome like that; Mama Cloud does whatever she can, Daddy Cloud knows how to calm me down, and even Brother Cloud has words of support. Well when he offered to do whatever I needed, I don’t think my dear brother had any clue what he was getting himself into.

Brother Cloud has been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. I can draw a mean stick figure, but it’s pretty obvious where the family talent went to. So when I decided that I HAD TO HAVE cartoon characters of Mr. Cloud and myself for various wedding projects he was my obvious choice; after all, he did offer! Well, after about 700 drafts I finally had a final picture. I’m not even kidding, I was a rough client—I kept saying, “no, change this or that,” and at one point I even made him start over completely in a new style. It’s a good thing we are related, or he would probably not be speaking to me anymore!

You are just going to have to wait to see how and where these little guys are being used, but I promise they will not disappoint!

Did you force any of your relatives into wedding slave labor?

Those are really cute — can’t wait to see where you’re going to use them! I’m using slave labor for help with my napkins — sister French Fries and Mom French Fries will be helping me out!

LOL, very cute! I have not tasked anyone yet, as they’re all far away from me, but it might happen yet =)

So cute! I keep threatening to force mom and friends to help with all my DIY stuff, but really I love to do it and it’s hard for me to ask someone to help. :-( I am sure I’ll get over that when the time crunch comes.

Ms. Cloud, I think that looks adorable! I would caution you, however, to not throw about the term “slave labor.” I know that you certainly didn’t mean anything by it, but it can be offensive to a lot of people.

Brother Cloud rocked the house on that one. Sweet!

I’ve put my aunts to work. They are in charge of the clean up crew which is awesome since I’m using the centerpieces from their daughters’ weddings and they can just pick ‘em up then.

My stepmom and stepsister are making my cake, but that’s how they roll. They want to open a bakery so I’m all for the free cakey-goodness. I will gladly advertise for them by showing my fabulous photos to the world. I’ll post the goodness sometime post honeymoon (mid-late November).

Those are incredible!

So far I’m doing my own slave labor work… I’m too much of a perfectionist to hand it off to anyone. Sigh. I hope I’ll relinquish some control the closer we get to the wedding day lol.

Oh yes, that’s totally what family is for. Just wait till we get a house - they will be full time slaves then :)

Nice job, Brother Cloud! I put my brother and his girlfriend to work for me, too! Little did they know what they were getting into until the night before the wedding, haha.

Really cute!! I totally agree that “Virginia is for Lovers!” I also had the Fi’s cousin make our STDs (she offered) and they turned out great! The Fi was the more picky/anal person about the project than I was, surprisingly!

Those are great! I’m doing a large buttload of our art-inspired things but plan to use my closest friends for slaves … err… creative geniuses when I get burnt out or just can’t do it on my own!!
