10 years from now, I hope that we are ________
Mrs. Bear Cub - Mr Bear Cub actually wrote a poem/letter to me after 5 months of dating that described how he saw our lives in 10 years. It’s a little long, so I’ll only give a shortened version:
I cant imagine a happier thought
than holding you close to me
in the setting sun of a hazy alpine peak ten years from today
reflecting on the path our lives have taken
Ten years of getting to know each other
Ten years of finding out that you are even more amazing than I could have imagined
Ten years of waking up in your arms
Ten years of holding you in mine
…
Ten years of striving each day to let you know how much you mean to me
But a million years worth of love having passed between us
He read parts of it to me on our wedding day, and it was one of the most emotional moments of the day.
In 10 years, I hope to revisit our wedding venue, Camp Westwind, with our children and savor all the joys life has brought us.
Miss Potato Chips - 10 years from now, I hope that we are financially secure and happy in our careers. I also hope we’re both out of school by then! I hope that we’re homeowners and have a little extra money to travel together every year.
Mrs. Peep Toe - Happily hanging out with our kids, in our own home, somewhere in Northern California.
Miss Moonbeam - 10 years from now, I hope that Mr. Moonbeam and I are well into our careers, financially secure in our own home and getting ready to start having kids. We’re not sure where we’ll be geographically by then, but our parents are constantly lobbying for us to come back to Texas, so maybe we’ll have made our way back to Austin by then. Hey, more opportunities for free childcare, right?
Mrs. Bunny - Ten years from now, I hope that Mr. Bunny and I are enjoying the fall weather at our house in the country with our kids and that we have a better idea of where our careers are headed!
Mrs. Mary Jane - In 10 years, I hope that Mr. Mary Jane and I have both finished our doctorates and have started a family. I hope we live where we want to live and have jobs we both enjoy.
Miss Ramen - In 10 years, the Ramens will hopefully have paid off our school debt and be done forever and ever with grad school. We will hopefully have our 2 dogs and have started a family AND have a home of our own.
Mrs. Mouse - Ten years from now, I hope the Dude and I are free of student loans and credit card debt. I’d love for us to own a business together, and I’d love even more if we got to travel all the time. I’m not sure yet on whether I’d like for us to have kids, but I hope our kitties are still kickin’.
Miss Labrador - … even happier than we are now (because we always love each other more than yesterday and less than tomorrow)! He’ll be a Physical Therapist with his own practice and I’ll be a big time sportscaster for college football (*hopelessly optimistic!*). Student debts will be paid and we’ll be well on our way to having our dream home and cars. Maybe Mr. Lab will even have his dream boat and I’ll have my dream closet full of designer shoes and handbags. Hopefully our fur babies will still be around and maybe we’ll even have a couple human babies bugging them all the time. Since 10 years from now will be fall football season, I’ll be traveling a lot, but I’ll always be grateful to come home and spend time with my family.
Miss Lamb - In 10 years… wow, I just did the math and I realized I have a lot do by then!
In 10 years, I hope that we’re able to experience the joy of parenthood. I hope that we’re near family and enjoying multiple generations. I hope that we’re enjoying Wednesday night family nights with spaghetti dinners and board games. I hope we’re saving up for a trip to Disney World. I hope that I can savor the victory of a Redskins Super Bowl win by then. I hope that we’re planning a tin and aluminum filled Anniversary!
Mrs. Bee - In 10 years I hope that our family is healthy and happy. And being fabulously wealthy wouldn’t hurt either.
Mrs. Mascara - In 10 years I hope we are enjoying our time in our own home with our own little ones not so far away from our families. I hope to have my own business and hope my husband is well established in his career as well. I hope we’re financially secure with enough extra cash to plan a fun vacation every year for our family!
Mrs. Sunbeam - In ten years I hope Mr. Sunbeam and I are reminiscing about all the adventures and traveling we have done, while our kids play in the yard and our old sunbeam kitty is laying around somewhere, that our family and friends are in good health and living close by, and that we are secure and happy with our careers and financially secure enough for more traveling and adventures to come. Ooo… also that we have upcoming reservations at El Bulli.
Mrs. Rainbow - In 10 years, I hope that Mr. Rainbow & I are very, very, very well traveled. Living in a great house, with 2 kids, some dogs, with nice big backyard. Hopefully we’ll both be very successful in our professions, and above all, happy.
Mrs. Crab Cake - Gosh, ten years…
I hope we’ve both finished grad school. I hope we’re living in our dream house. I hope we’ve finished our family. I hope my daughter won’t have crashed the family car yet (she’ll be 15!). I just want us to be happy, where ever we are, and whatever we are doing!
Mrs. Dumpling - In 10 years I hope our mortgage is paid off and the Dow is above 15,000. I hope my daughter is happy and healthy and excelling in school and extra-curricular activities and that she has at least 2 siblings. I really don’t care if we are wealthy or if we drive luxury cars, I just want to be healthy and still as much in love with my husband as I am today.
Mrs. Lovebird - 10 years from now, I hope that Mr. Lovebird and I are happy and healthy with two kids running around the house with our lil’ Babu (gosh it makes me so sad each time I think about how doggies just don’t live that long). I hope the then Dr. Lovebird will have a successful and rewarding medical practice so I can spend more time with the kids.
Ms. Sushi - 10 years from now, I hope that Mr. Sushi and I are on the right path to retirement.
I know, I know… you’re probably thinking, ‘But Mrs. Sushi, in 10 years you’ll only be 38.’ Those who are in the military will be able to relate: retirement is the goal. Let me rephrase: a comfortable retirement is the goal. I hope the Mr. Sushi and I are totally debt free (minus a mortgage), saving nicely for retirement, living in a house (rather than our dinky condo), with kiddies. Eeeeek! Lil’ B will be in high school in 10 years. Scary!
Mrs. Espresso - 10 years from now I’ll be months away from being 35. I hope Mr. Espresso and I have started a family, paid off all of our debt, traveled and lived in a different part of the country, have found a place we like, and are both in jobs that we love… whatever those jobs may be.
Mrs. Hydrangea - 10 years from now, I hope that Mr. H and I are happy, healthy, in a loving home (in the city…we are currently living in the borderline country) with striving careers and possibly a baby H or two!?!
Mrs. Ballet Flat - 10 years from now, I hope we are in a bigger city, with jobs that we love. I also hope that, like Mrs. Sushi, we have a great retirement plan that we are contributing to. I also hope that we’ll have kid(s) and a yellow lab, with a nice house and yard for everyone to enjoy!
Mrs. Snow Pea - We’re pretty happy right now. In 10 more years, I hope we’re still healthy, happy and have our family. We will probably have our little herd of peas and our darling peadog in tow. That’s all I can ask for. If I can pay off my student loans, we’ll probably need to upgrade to a bigger pod and do more traveling.
Miss Frozen Yogurt - In 10 years I hope we are both stable and happy in our careers, parents to at least 2 wonderful kids and a pet or 2 to round out the fam’. Oh, and maybe by that point I’ll have run for (and been elected to) state office…
Mrs. French Bulldog - In 10 years, the French Bulldogs will hopefully have all their student loans paid off, be happy homeowners, have a cute doggie and even more adorable kids… a boy and a girl, in that order.
I hope Mr Frenchie and I are still living in the same area and are still friends with our friends now.
Mrs. Sprinkle - In ten years I hope we have done a lot of traveling, built a little house (or bought a house and built it into a home) popped out a kid or two… I hope that everyone is happy and healthy and still enjoying my yummy vegan cooking! Oh, having our student loans paid off would be nice, too!
Mrs. Sea Breeze - In 10 years I hope we are still making each other laugh uproariously every single day.
Mrs. Yorkie - I really just hope that in ten years we are as happy and healthy as we are today, and even more so in love. Anything more than that is just icing on the cake, especially if it’s in the form of a beautiful baby (or two)!
In 10 years, I hope that Mr. Peng and I haven’t bored each other to tears. I also hope that the housing market in the Bay Area has experienced a giant upturn and that we’ve remodeled our disgusting bathroom by then. I hope I’m 20 pounds thinner, have gone to the dentist at some point, and that the BART system goes to enough places that we don’t need a car. If we leave the Bay Area, I hope that we move close to Mr. Peng’s parents and that my parents buy a condo nearby, even if it means that they have to put up with freezing Minnesota winters sometimes. Wherever we are, I just hope that we have all of our parents nearby—I’m a sissy mama’s girl.
