Mrs. Sushi's Picture
Mrs. Sushi, Hershey/Hawaii Age and Occupation: 27, Graphic Designer/Photographer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Laborer/Aspiring Hip Hop Producer Engagement Date: December 25, 2007 Wedding Date: March 2009 Blogging Since: October 9, 2006 Venue: Byodo-In Temple, Luau Reception About Me: I’m a notorious people-watcher who loves all things paper, food, traveling, grubbin’ on food, gossip magazines, food, sock monkeys…did I mention food?! Mr. Sushi and I are both haolepinos (half Filipino, half Caucasian) and hope to be able to somehow incorporate our cultures at our destination wedding in Hawaii. All while planning from the sweetest place in earth, Hershey!
About Mrs. Sushi

Our guests then went off to tour the temple while Frank went all paparazzi on our arses. We had about a lil’ over an hour to do photos before we had to load into the shuttle to make our way to the “reception”. Not having a wedding par-tay meant that whole hour was dedicated to us. That’s a whole lot of photos, yo.

For being a “small” temple, there was lots of scenery for photos.

We had our green mossy, woodsy area:

Got your bridge with koi pond? Check.

Pavilion? Check.

Massive bamboo… got it!

And let’s not forget the temple itself.

Now what you don’t see are all the photos the photographer got of me smacking Mr. Sushi in head or him swatting my arms to keep the mosquito’s away. The day we went to view our site (before wedding day), it was a cool and rainy day; i.e., no bugs. But on our wedding day it was nice and warm out and everyone was eaten alive. I kid you not, I had about 30 mosquito bites by the time the day was said and done (I’ll post proof soon!). If you’re having an outdoor wedding, bring bug spray!!

Hottie alert!

Some of you had asked before how much of my tattoo would show with my dress on:

It started to get a bit chilly so I put on my polka dotted cardigan

and off we went to the “reception”.

Beautiful! I have tattoo envy- yours is absolutely beautiful. I’ve got plans for a back piece after the wedding - if I was wearing a strapless/deep v back I would totally be tempted to have it done before. :-)

GAH, Bugs!! It has recently occurred to me that my summer Maine wedding will have TONS of them. We’re definitely going to be supplying bug spray wipes to the guests at the wedding. Thanks for the heads up!
