About Mrs. Labrador

My MOH recently bought a new house about 40 minutes away from me. With the wedding fast approaching, we’ve used it as an excuse to visit each other quite a lot lately. :)

During my first visit to her new home, I found something that caught my eye while  snooping… er… checking… everything out. ;) She had the cutest little birdcage in her closet!

Cameo by my bridal bouquet!

I got her permission to not only borrow it for the wedding, but to also spray paint it to match our colors. And that’s just what I did!

Although spray painting is pretty easy, it can be a little tricky to get in between the wires on something like this. But I stayed patient!

And soon I had this!

I used leftover bouquet ribbon to add a little “something” to the birdcage. I may or may not add a tag or sign that says “cards”. I might just be lazy and put a card in it beforehand to show what it’s for to our guests.

Bow on the back!

And as an added bonus, here’s a sneak peek into some other projects that included some spray painting!

Lanterns for some of the table centerpieces:

Shepherd’s hooks for the ceremony decor:

Go MOH Lab, go!

And last but not least, a frame from our “faux”tobooth:

And as an extra extra bonus: our wallpaper for the “faux”tobooth!

Source

I hope I didn’t tease you too much. I can’t show much more on the “faux”tobooth until after the wedding because it won’t be assembled until a few days before! Hang in there! :D

That really is crazy simple.

I can’t wait to see your “faux”tobooth. I’m still trying to decide how to backdrop ours, but we have a fair amount of time left. :p

How cute Miss Lab! Are those lanterns from Ikea? I believe I looked at the same ones for centerpieces, but I didn’t love the colors they came in. I don’t know why it never occured to me to spray paint them!

I didn’t know you were doing a faux-tobooth like that, too! :) Great minds. I’m so excited to see how yours turns out. We’re not assembling ours until right before the wedding, either — transporting it will be somewhat of a hassle, methinks.

The cage turned out really cute. We painted our hooks too, we did it in a lighter color though and it took forever to get them covered in paint.

Great backdrop for the fauxtobooth - and dropping a card in the birdcage is probably the single best idea to let guests know what it’s for!

Lab bridesmaid here. The lanterns are in fact from Ikea. She almost didn’t buy them because she didn’t think she could change them, but one of her groomsman suggested she spray paint them. The doors had glass panels, but she removed them.

@mash8: Haha, thanks Ashley! I’m a little slow on the comments as the day draws nearer. Can I go bridezilla and make you answer all the questions for me? lol :)

Btw, be careful when removing the glass panels! I pulled one out too quickly and sliced my knuckle on the metal lip holding it in! Ouch!

@TobeDyer: I’m just using my point and shoot Cybershot camera on a tripod (you can buy tripods at Walmart or Best Buy-type stores!). I’m sure the professional photographers will make their way over to the fauxtobooth as well at some point in the night!
