Mrs. Rainbow, Tampa Age and Occupation: 22, Makeup Artist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Electrical Engineer/Programmer Engagement Date: November 27, 2008 Wedding Date: May 2010 Venue: The Gamble Plantation About Me: I'm a quirky (and slightly Type-A) freelance makeup artist who was born in Washington State, raised in Alabama, and now living with my one and only in sunny Florida. I'm fashion and beauty obsessed, and have recently discovered my inner domestic diva extraordinaire. I'm a wannabe chef, decorating addict, and trying desperately to be as crafty as possible---albeit only with a glue gun. I'm hopelessly in love with my fiance, and all things sparkly and feathery. Despite the glittery exterior, I'm a total hippie on the inside. When I'm not making up pretty faces, I love doing what I can to help people, animals, and the environment. Someday the FI and I will change the world, but first we're tackling our modern-vintage-Marie-Antoinette-meets-Alice-in-Wonderland inspired wedding. I just can't wait to be Mrs. Rainbow!

Invitation Evolution Part 2

October 27th, 2009 @ 12:46 pm by Mrs. Rainbow

We last left our series on the cusp of the most epic invite on the planet. The be all, end all. The invitation to trump all invitations. The one, the only, the Lindsey Ryan Design invitation (time stops, angels sing). I first caught a glimpse of a LRD invitation right here on Weddingbee, thanks to a post by Mrs. Mouse

… who, in turn, inspired me! As soon as I saw them, I knew I had to have them. They were just so undeniably perfect for our theme. They just scream Marie-Antoinette-falls-down-the-Rabbit-Hole, don’t you think? They even elicited a reaction from Mr. Rainbow, who couldn’t care less about invitations in general. Initially, I was a little scared at what the cost would be for something so detailed, but they were too perfect to let my fear stop me from asking. I contacted Lindsey on Etsy and was SO pleasantly surprised by her prices! She offers so many options, and they are budget friendly, indeed! Working with Lindsey has been an absolute dream. She got my vision instantly, took all of my (very annoyingly specific) requests to heart, and has created something I thought that I could only dream about. I can’t wait until they’re all finished up and shipped out so I can share them with the hive!

Do you find yourself hesitant to ask for prices from vendors that you think might be out of your price range?

I love them. So original, beautiful, and ethereal. If my best friend wasn’t doing ours (and they were a bit more my fiance’s style!) I’d be all over them! Cannot wait to see yours.

I’m so happy to see vintage invitations! I was beginning to worry I was the only one doing the vintage look. :) These are so beautiful, and i can’t wait to see how you make this inspiration you own!
