I was having a rather lackluster day. I had forgotten my lunch, pulled a muscle in my neck, and was feeling pretty overloaded.
After a marathon of classes, I sat down in my office to start sorting through some much-neglected email.
Then I noticed a message from someone new—someone I’d never seen in my inbox before. It was Mrs. Penguin! Uh-oh. I knew what this was: my rejection email from Weddingb–WAIT. What?? They think I’d be a nice addition to the bee team? WHAT???
I. was. shocked.
After a healthy dose of oh-my-gosh-did-this-really-happen woohoo-ing around the office (much to the confusion of my office mates), I stopped short in horror, assuming I’d misread the email and missed the “thanks-but-no-thanks” part. It can’t be real, right? But it was. I finally let it sink in, and then woohoo-ed again (after explaining what was happening to my office buddies).
Now that I’ve picked my chin up off the keyboard, HELLO!
I’m Miss Snow, and I can’t believe I’m a bee!

A little about me:
I’m a true Southern gal who has been transported to the very cold, snowy northern Midwest (hence Miss Snow) where I spend my days combing through archives, poking around in libraries, and writing, writing, writing (I love it!). Mr. Snow’s a graphic designer (yep, you’ll get to see a lot of his DIY projects, too!), my best friend, and an all-around awesome individual who makes me laugh and keeps me grounded. We share a love of music (from punk rock to bluegrass), theatre, design, North Carolina-style BBQ, Carolina Panther football, and Belgian beer. We’re a good team.

Mr. Snow and I started dating as young twentysomethings (the way we met is a post on its own, so I’ll save that for later!) and have spent the bulk of our twenties together. After some significant events that postponed our discussions of marriage (more on that later too), on our seventh dating anniversary we decided we were finally ready to wed!

(No, this won’t be our wedding transportation… unfortunately;)
We’re planning a long-distance, largely DIY, eco-conscious hip farm affair that celebrates our family, friends, southern heritage, punk rock spirits, creative natures, and most importantly, love for one another.
I can’t wait to meet all of you (or y’all, if you prefer), and I am excited and humbled to experience this wild wedding planning adventure with so many creative, talented, and awesome people.
What will your wedding celebrate?
