Hello hive!! I will be launching a lifestyle photography business in January of 2010, but until then I’d like to offer my photography services to those in the Philadelphia (or surrounding) area. I’ll be offering a few free shoots, so be sure to get in touch with me for details. If the shoot is not local to the Philadelphia area, I am willing to work for free as long as the cost of my travel is covered.

Have a wedding item for sale? Post it with pictures in the Weddingbee classifieds and you might see it featured on the blog!
Our Badgely Mischka runway experience was really great! It was held right in their offices, in a small space with a double runway. The Mrs. Bee and I snagged seats right up front which offered a great view of all the dresses. I sat next to Colin Cowie! Badgely Mischka was debuting their Spring 2010 line here, and while most collections we viewed this week were for next fall, it was great to see a spring line in the mix.

I loved the familiar silhouettes punched up with gorgeous detailing. Each and every dress was incredibly wearable!

I know we all love to keep it lighthearted around these parts, and that’s just one of the many things I love about Weddingbee. It’s such an amazing, eclectic group of people who are SO talented and supportive of each other. Sometimes, though, wedding planning isn’t all “sunshine and rainbows” all the time. We’ve all had to make some tough decisions here and there. Whether it’s cutting the guest list, cutting the budget, throwing it all out the window and eloping, or sometimes, calling the wedding off all together. Today, I made a pretty tough decision of my own.
After a lot of thought and more than our fair share of issues, Mr. Rainbow and I have decided not to have a bridal party. It was a weird little journey to this decision, but we felt it was the best way to handle everything that had been going on. Despite the fact that we had already asked all the BMs & GMs to be a big part of our little ceremony, things just weren’t working out how we had hoped when it came to the wedding party.
Without getting into the details, it was basically just a procrastination/responsibility issue. It wasn’t exactly something I wanted to deal with on top of the already mounting to-do list of wedding craziness. We had a funny feeling that this issue would become a trend so, although it wasn’t an easy decision, we took the initiative and nipped it in the bud.
Hi, Everyone! Wowsers! I can’t believe that I’m actually a Bee! I had been diligently working on my wedding blog, but I was on the fence about applying (all the bees are sooo awesome, it’s a little intimidating!). Thanks to a gentle push from a bee blogger, I decided to go for it – and boy, am I happy with the outcome!
Why Miss Hamster? First of all, that icon is just so darn cute. Secondly, I identify with that little gal – goofy, a little roly-poly, awkward at times, occasionally stuffing her face with food (I am ALL about that). And let’s face it, in the wedding planning process, sometimes you feel like you’re running but going nowhere fast!
Mr. Hamster and I met in grad school – we are both major foodies, and after he claimed that he could eat 30 dumplings at a single go, how could I resist? Despite valiant efforts (he surrendered after 15), he lost the bet. Instead, he won me.
We now spend our days traipsing around NYC, looking for the newest hole-in-the-wall restaurants, testing our stomachs with street food, and stopping in for a dumpling or two (or 15), just for old times’ sake.

Yep, this photo pretty much sums up our level of goofiness.

Who pursued whom (or was it a mutual attraction)?
Mrs. Sea Breeze - We met on a three week work trip where I was his client. While the sparks were undeniable, he was struggling to not cross any professional lines so it was me who finally had to say, “So… are you gonna kiss me or what?” Now he likes to boast about his exceptionally good “client relations” skills. Indeed!
Mrs. Bee - He knew he wanted to marry me after our first date, while it took a little longer for reality to set in for me. But it was a whirlwind, crazy fast, mutual attraction!

I received the sample invitations in the mail! As you read in the previous installment of Invitation Imagination, I liked quite a few invitation sets from eInvite.com.
The invite set that won my heart did not have the option to order a sample for $1.50. I thought that was a nice, measly price for a sample, but was disappointed that I wouldn’t be able to see the exact invite I had chosen. Miss Lamb Planner, my coordinator, even called them to see if it was possible, and they said, “No.” That was probably as nicely as they could have said it.
My heart was set on these invites though and I saw a way around the sample. I scoured the site for an invitation that was the same paperweight and lettering type of my heart’s desire. I received the sample in the mail and knew that my invitation decision was right! Take a peek at the sample below:

After the vows, we did had the Arrhae Ceremony, or coin exchange. We had both dads present each one of us with coins and then we exchanged them.

Nhingson’s bright pumps pop against the white of her dress. Her hubby’s socks complement the heels perfectly.

After slipping on my beautiful new ring, we headed inside to snap some portraits. Shawna and Kory had arrived at the courthouse early and scouted out a bunch of great photo opportunities. We laughed, joked, posed, and followed their lead, trying to take full advantage of the amazing turn-of-the-century architecture and style found throughout the courthouse.
Because we weren’t having a particularly fancy invitation suite with letterpress, response cards, fold outs and all those other “fixins” and whatnot, I knew I wanted to at least give the envelopes a wow factor.
I searched high and low for A9-sized chocolate envelopes (for my wonky-shaped invitations) in my city but always came home empty-handed. So I planned a trip with one of my bridesmaids over to Atlanta so I could check out PaperSource (the BEST excuse to finally visit such a coveted place in the wedding world!). I called ahead to make sure they had the envelopes I wanted in stock (shimmer chocolate—yummy!!!) and I also planned to do some other wedding-related shopping while in Atlanta to fully justify the $25-in-gas trip.
Remember our Martha secret? Well, it’s a secret no longer: Serena is our newest bee, Miss Hamster! She was on the fence about applying, but with a little gentle prodding from Mrs. Apple Cider, she took the plunge, and we’re thrilled to introduce her to you all! Please join me in welcoming Miss Hamster to the hive!

Miss Hamster, New York City
Age & Occupation: 28, Finance Gal
Fiance’s Age & Occupation: 30, Finance Guy
Engagement Date: March 9, 2009
Wedding Date: May 2010
Venue: The Pierre Hotel
About Me: I’m an original Jersey girl living it up in the big NYC! I love baking for others, hosting brunches, and exploring NYC with my mans. Besides Mr. Hamster (of course), I’m attracted to shiny things, bold colors, snacks, matching and coordination, pork and duck fats, miniature versions of things, corny jokes and puns. We are planning a swanky Spring wedding in the heart of NYC, followed by a second reception in Singapore. From one city that never sleeps to another - I can’t imagine a more exciting ride!
*sings*
It’s just a jump to the left, and then a step to the riiiiiight … Let’s do the time warp again!
(Only 18 days left in the Bunny Bridal Countdown, but don’t worry. That doesn’t mean 18 posts. We’ll get to the good stuff soon, I promise!)

I outlined previously how we’ll be making cloth napkins for our wedding reception. I’ve recruited MOH French Fries and Mom French Fries, both of whom are well-versed in the sewing arena, to help me with this project. Luckily, I think that between the three of us we’ll be able to finish the project with our sanity still intact. (Fingers crossed!)
As for how the napkins are displayed for the wedding, I am envisioning black linens on top of each table, with the napkins placed on top at each place setting. Something a bit like this:

Initially I had absolutely no desire for a cake topper. I figured I’d slap a couple of flowers on there and call it a day. Then came Etsy and its endless supply of ultra-fab cake toppers. Etsy is like the kryptonite to my wedding planning nonchalant-ness. Those darn Etsy vendors, they make everything seem so whimsical and cute and necessary. Needless to say, my cake topper “nonchalant-ness” turned into cake topper “gotta-have-it-ness.” Here is my list of Etsy’s top toppers*:

This topper is so freakin’ life-like and adorable. Your very own mini-me!

Was your SO your first real love? Do you benefit from being in love before (or having never been in love with anyone before)?
Mrs. Mouse - My husband was not my first love. I was in love once before, but the relationship was all kinds of wrong. Looking back, it’s nice to know that even though I loved my ex, the Dude is so much more right for me in every possible way. I don’t have any regrets.
Mrs. French Bulldog - Mr Frenchie was the first boyfriend I ever said “I love you” to. I’d thought I was in love before but never exchanged “I love you”s. When I met Mr Frenchie I knew I’d been wrong about the others—he was the one. I’m glad I dated other guys, that way when I met Mr Frenchie I knew what love really was/is. ![]()
