Nearly Nautical Nuptials : Anchors Away!

November 3rd, 2009 @ 9:25 am by Mrs. Gloss

With our stealth operation to get on to the boat unseen complete, we went to the upper deck and hung out in the captain’s cabin until the remainder of the guests arrived. Luckily, we were also able to hang out outside in a few areas where we wouldn’t be seen because it was rather roasty toasty and my full-on bridal ‘glow’ was actually sweat.

Mr. Gloss and I had a few more impromptu photos sessions while the Glossy Gals & Guys made sure things were going down as planned.

The guys were handing out programs and rocks* as guests entered the boat.

The girls were making sure Emilie & Fiona of Pink Orchid Weddings (our DOCs) had located everything they needed for the ceremony and reception set-ups, pinning on more flowers and rope bouts for those who were not in at Blair Hill (parents/grandparents), and keeping me company.

Oh, and trying to keep my veil under control!

Once everyone was on board, we left the dock listening to a carefully crafted playlist played on… terrible speaker. :)

The fearless captains** (depicted below) led onward to our ceremony destination while our guests enjoyed the ride and views. Honestly, I have no idea how long it took us to get to ‘the spot’, or what our guests were really doing – time had sort of froze and warped forward at this point – thank god Fiona was there to tell me what to do/where to go/etc. because I think my mind had gone blank/was thinking everything possible.

Even though we hadn’t kicked off the official cocktail hour yet, knowing my family, it’s probably a good thing that the ’Under 10s’ were driving. ;)

* Will explain later :)
** Not actual captains, obviously.

Love these photos! The captains are my favorite (and the ** that tells us they’re not actually captains, of course)!
