DW in the DR: The Party Must Go On

November 6th, 2009 @ 6:24 pm by Mrs. Sea Breeze

Once the dancing got into full swing, I expected our awesome photographers to pack in in. It had been a looooong day and they fully deserved to finally kick their feet up.

But when I suggested it, Photophil said he had one more idea he wanted to try out.

He took us outside the disco for a couple fun, funky shots. Check out those colors!

1

2

Then he asked if we’d mind going back to the gazebo where we had had the ceremony earlier. Mind? Of course not! Photophil, you know that you just say the word and we will follow you anywhere.

It turns out he wanted to give us a couple of romantic shots of the two of us dancing under the starry night. Aww…

3

4

With that, I thought the night was coming to an end.

Our friends, however, had other ideas in mind! Once everyone had danced their pants off and the adults (I still think of us as ‘the kids’, isn’t that funny?) had said their good nights, a crew of us went in search of some late-night sustenance.

The Majestic Colonial resort has this great little street right by the disco where there’s a fast-food restaurant that seemingly never closes, which is PERFECT for late night party-ers such as ourselves. We’d already become quite well acquainted with their to-die-for onion rings earlier that week, so that’s where we headed.

5

This photo and subsequent photos in this post are by our friends

I am not too sure how long we stayed there but let’s just say that much hilarity (and a little debauchery) ensued. I even think there was some singing involved. There also may or may not be a photo that exists somewhere of me inelegantly stuffing my face with a cheeseburger while wearing my wedding dress, but I conveniently can’t find it at the moment.

We were having the time of our lives and I didn’t want the night to end. But I soon had trouble keeping my eyes open and so the mister and I reluctantly called it a night.

The sign of a good party? You danced the soles right off your brand new shoes.

6

Our… uh… grand exit. (Oh look, I finally bustled my dress at some point. Hooray for me!)

7

The next day, Mr Breezy and I found out that the party still hadn’t ended there!

With a couple bottles of champagne in tow, all our friends simply moved to the beach and kept it going all until the wee hours o’ the morn.

8

Isn’t that fantastic? I’m so happy they had such a great time and while part of me wishes we could’ve been there, I know I wouldn’t have lasted five minutes before I was snoring in the sand.

It sure looked like they had fun, though!

9

The wedding day was finally over, but did you think the celebrating would end there? No way…

Credit goes to our photographers Photophil Steingard and Michael Steingard for lasting so long and having the good sense to pack it in before our friends got crazy(er).

This sounds amazing, I hope we have the same kind of up-until-dawn-drinking-champagne excitement at our wedding, those are always some the best memories…
