Shoes 2

November 6th, 2009 @ 5:55 pm by Miss Moonbeam

In my last shoe post, I thought I was very into those blue Calvin Klein’s, but the bottom had a very ’sturdy’ sole. I know it’s silly, but I wasn’t digging the black rubber. I even found them in person and just didn’t love them enough. You do have to kneel at Catholic weddings.

So the search continued, I tried Macy’s, because I’m trying to save a few $$ at every step, but was thoroughly unimpressed. So, I headed over to Nordstrom, my trusty source for super-fun flats. They might be a little pricier, but their junior’s shoes are well priced and cute, and if I had to spend a little extra on my wedding shoes, I’d live.

I scoped the website first to see what I had in mind and found some great options.

I love the shoe jewelry look of these. And they’re ’something blue’.

These pearls and ruffles are too sweet and romantic to not consider.

source

These also come in bronze and the jewels on them are a perfect match to our wedding colors. There’s even a teal blue jewel in there.

source

Just an adorable bow to think about.

source

These jeweled ruffles are so cute and modern when done in metallic.

source

A fun pop of color and a great jewel.

source

After my search, I decided that some of my favorite brands are Kelsi Dagger and Jeffrey Campbell.

So, I headed out to Nordstrom to try these on. I still fear online shoe shopping. I buy so many other things online, but just can’t do it with clothes and shoes.

Nordstrom doesn’t carry all of their styles in the stores (like Kelsi Dagger, hmph), but I found three to try on that I loved. I was sitting there staring, calling and texting my Mom and I still came home with 2 pairs. Now I’ve got to decide. The third that I tried on and didn’t buy is that jeweled ruffle metallic, above. It fit well and was made well, but I fear elasticized heels, as they tend to rub my skin off.

I couldn’t find these ruffly ones online but, they’re made by BC (Because We Can) and were $45 (see, junior’s shoes). I love how feminine they are and they certainly fulfill my something blue.

These are the bronze versions of the ones shown above. There are purple, mustard and other fall colored jewels, including a dark teal to be my something blue.

So hive, ruffles or jewels?

Ruffles! Love the blue. The jeweled shoes are lovely, but I think they’re a bit too “everyday.” The ruffles have that extra something.

Haha, I’m going to be devil’s advocate and say the jewels. I dunno, I love the bronze-y color, and I like that they’re not satin. (Satin just seems so “wedding-y” to me, ya know?)

blue ruffles :) I agree with Mrs. Mouse satin seems very wedding-y, which is partially why I like them better for your wedding.

Daughter bought the ruffles and pearls…. for her special day. The shoe is so comfortable I bought it in gold and black for my own wearing~ of course not at her wedding, but I wore them to work with a skirt.

So so so comfortable.

I would think comfort and dancing go hand in hand!

I also love the ruffles and have been stalking them on the Nordstrom website for months. The problem is they don’t come in the bone color that we are all “Hearting” at least in the random sizes I have checked. Possibly a store may have them.

I’m a ruffles fan myself! I had those Jeffrey Campbell ruffles/pearl shoes and it was hard to take them back!

Also in the minority! The jeweled ones!!! They look so sophisticated and autumnal. The ruffled ones are more summery and I think you will get more future wear out of the jeweled ones. Also your feet look better in them.

Maybe I am just a fan of jewelery on shoes! I have those Kelsi Dagger ones in olive for my wedding!

Love the ruffles. You can find them at the BC Shoes website. I ordered them…they are exactly what I was looking for!! And, they are called “bicycle built for two”– very wedding appropriate.

Miss Moonbeam- The ruffles win my heart over! I just stumbled upon your flower wall and i am IN. LOVE.

I was wondering if you were willing to sell your flower wall after your wedding. My wedding is in Austin TX and I would love to pick it up from you. You can email me at hui.claire@gmail.com. Good luck with your wedding! You have great style!
