Miss Snow's Picture
Miss Snow, Madison, WI/Asheville, NC Age and Occupation: 28, PhD student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Graphic Designer Engagement Date: August 5, 2009 Wedding Date: June 2010 Venue: Claxton Farm About Me: I am true Southern gal displaced in the beautiful and blustery midwest. A true theatre geek at heart, I love any kind of performance and spend most of my time researching old productions in dank library archives. When not in the library, I love music (punk rock, bluegrass, and everything in between), design in all forms, any reality TV show on Bravo (especially those that feature housewives or sharp knives), beer and wine from Oregon, and exploring the outdoors. My fiance and I are true best friends, and he inspires me every day. After a long and happy dating relationship, we’ve decided to tie the knot in the mountains of North Carolina, our home state. We’re planning a long-distance, largely-DIY, eco-conscious hip farm affair that celebrates family, friends, and love.
About Miss Snow

Etsy, Je T’adore

November 7th, 2009 @ 2:45 pm by Miss Snow

I wanted to formally ask my bridesmaids to be my bridesmaids in a reasonably cute/hip way that avoided the curlz (really, curl z ??) typeface or pseudo Sex and the City-esque cartoon pictures of girls in matching dresses (not that I don’t love Sex and the City, but some of the “Will you be my bridesmaid?” cards are a bit much :/)

Etsy to the rescue. Etsy seller visualchemist has the most elegant, hip letterpress “Will you be my bridesmaid?” cards. Not only that, but she sent them in record time, wrapped in pink tissue paper, with a handwritten note. Just lovely.

How grand or small was your gesture of asking your friends to be your bridesmaids?

Those are great!

I wish I had been an avid reader of Weddingbee before I asked my bridesmaids. I just called them up. But I’ve seen so many cute ideas that I wish I could do it over!

Your girls will love those cards!

Miss Dachshund, I completely agree! I wish I had known about Weddingbee before I got engaged and knew about all the awesome ways to ask folks to be a part of the wedding. I just called my friends too :) They were plenty excited that way anyway!

Oh, those are tres cute! I made mine…they were pretty goofy and low key…but I listed the top ten reasons why I wanted/needed them as a bridesmaid inside…to give a personal touch hah.

Wow. I had no idea the whole asking thing was so…formal. I just called and said, “Hey, I’m getting married. Want to be a bridesmaid?” And that was the end of it. I’ve never heard of this card-sending thing before.
