A Treasure a Day

November 8th, 2009 @ 11:30 am by Miss Parfait

Have you seen *The Perfect* wedding flowers? Not yet? Well then, allow me to share them with you!

I am always sighing over the creations of the Weddingbee PROs. But my heart went knock knock (name that song!) when I saw this post by Kristin of The Treasured Petal. Ever since then, they’ve remained in my mind as *The Perfect* wedding florals… at least for our wedding. :)

I love the fun combination of flowers she used (hello, pink anemones), and they’re in our wedding colors! I’ll share the beautiful cake table she put together, and you can check out her other posts for the rest of the wedding florals and details.

The lovely cake table

Roses, ranunculus, billy balls, anemones, acacia… and books! It’s like a dream come true.

Cake flowers

Our caterer is providing a simple white cake, and I’ll ask our florist to add some flowers to it. The above picture needs to come with me to our floral-planning meetings. I just love it so much!

My biggest concern is that I don’t want to seem unappreciative of my florist’s creativity by bringing in these pictures. I know if I told her our colors and favorite flowers, she would create something beautiful for us. But I have to admit, I would feel a little reassurance from sharing them—just to be sure we’re heading in the right direction!

Did you bring pictures to your vendor meetings?

Gorgeous! Even if you think your vendor will do just want you want, pictures never hurt, it will just ease your mind if nothing else. Plus, who doesn’t like beautiful visuals? :)

There is nothing unappreciative of bringing inspiration photos! Do it-your vendor will be happy to have a guideline to make sure you’re happy! And wow. What pretty flowers.

Bring pictures! Our vendors have really appreciated photos because they help develop common language. When you say “bright pink anemones” your florist may be wondering how bright. Photos help to develop a set of common expectations. :-) PS I am LOVING the pink anemonies…. my Dahlias might have to make room for some of those!

*right click, and save*! OMG, gorgeous!
We’re not at the vendor stage quite yet, as FF is still yet to propose, but I’m definitely taking inspiration photos with me whenever, wherever! Like you said, it would just to be sure we’re all headed in the same direction.

P.S. - The song: ‘One Time’ by Justin Bieber? Haha, of course I’d recognize my guilty pleasure. ;]

Wow, amazing inspiration. I don’t think you should worry about hurting your florist’s feelings. I’m sure most florists would appreciate getting a sense of your style and having a reference point to go back to.

i’ll definitely be bringing pictures of what i want to vendors. i’m a visual person so pictures help me so i’m sure they will be more helpful than my random descriptions of “flowers, but not too many. and green. and poofy. but not too poofy.”

It is so helpful to bring pictures to your vendors so that they get a concrete idea of what you are looking for. It helps nix any “I thought you meant this…” or “this isn’t what I had in mind!” moments.

I think vendors actually really like it when you bring in pics, it gives them a greater chance of making you happy!

Anemones are my favorite, I am head over heels for these flower and color combos, great choice!

Those are great! I definitely think it’s fine to bring photos to vendor meetings. This way, they get a sense of your vibe and aesthetic. Even if they take things in a slightly different direction, they will see where you’re coming from in terms of inspiration.

I totally brought pictures with my to my florist — she used them as a base, and filled in things from one photo I really loved.
