Mrs. Frozen Yogurt's Picture
Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
About Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

My Dress is Finally Here!

November 9th, 2009 @ 9:30 am by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

Thursday I got the call of all calls––my wedding dress was in! Sadly, I couldn’t get over there on Thursday to even look at it, so I had to wait an ENTIRE day. It was grueling. Then, Friday I had lunch plans with co-workers and couldn’t sneak over on my lunch break, so I had to wait until the end of the day. But I made it and was so ecstatic about seeing my dress!

You may remember that I was a mean bee and left all of you all hanging with no decision on which dress I chose. I promised that as soon as it came in I would update everyone. It felt like forever waiting on my dress. In fact, in the time that it took for my dress to come in, my bridal consultant had a baby. Granted, she was like 4 months along when she helped me, but still! A baby was born during the time it took for my dress to be made!

So, are you ready? This is the part where I’m supposed to tell Mr. Fro Yo to avert his eyes, but I’m going to be honest: he never reads my posts. So there’s no need.

Ta da! It’s Casablanca 1900, as a lot of you guessed.

So far I’ve tried it on with my veil and my shoes, and I am in love. As I am right now it fits me almost perfectly, but as most brides are, I’m hoping to shed a few pounds before the wedding. Now I just need to find the perfect hair accessories and jewelry. You know the hardest part? Not trying it on every five minutes. It’s torture having it at my house and not being able to put it on whenever I want! But, I know that to keep it looking its best, I need to leave it alone. Sigh.

Did you take your dress home? Did you have a hard time leaving it alone before the wedding?

It is a good thing my dress lives at my parents’ house otherwise I’d try it on way too often.

So pretty! Definitely the prettiest of them all :D

I just went for my first fitting on Saturday. My dress was almost perfect. They have to let it out on top because apparently my ribcage is just that big. As you can already see my ribs, I don’t think losing weight is gonna help. I have to make sure I don’t gain an ounce though or I won’t be able to breathe in that thing.

It is absolutely gorgeous! I love the color. Mine is at my parents’ house. I knew I’d be trying to put it on every few minutes. Thankfully, I can’t put it on by myself anyway.

Ooh, I love it!!

And…I totally had my dress on ALL the time when Mr. S wasn’t around. We bought it last October, it was at my parents’ until early spring, and then I bought it home with me in preparation for alterations…yah, I probably had it on 5 or 6 times…shoes, veil, jewelry, the whol shebang. It’s really far too much fun :)

@Mrs. Stiletto: Oh yeah, I just shut the bedroom door and told him not to come in, and I had it on for a good 10 minutes. Practiced sitting, walking, with the veil, without. I need to leave it alone though, the girl at the store told me so. :(

I LOVE your dress! I seriously considered getting that dress but I decided to go with the Wtoo Marguerite but I’m also doing a lace veil and sweet shoes.
