What are your favorite things to do together/hobbies you both enjoy together?
Mrs. Bunny - We’re both reporters, so we talk about work a lot, but that’s not really a hobby. Together, we enjoy watching movies and, um… playing Magic: The Gathering.
Now, don’t judge my geekiness before you hear me out. Mr. Bunny has been playing since the fifth grade, but was on a break from it when we got together. Then he and an old friend moved in together and each rekindled the other’s interest in the game … and they talked me into learning how to play.
I only play with him every once in a while because I like to use my spending money on other things, but it’s nice that we have a hobby that we both enjoy and can do together on the occasional Friday night.
We’ll also go out to karaoke every once in awhile. We both LOVE to sing!

After we got engaged, it was time to plan our civil ceremony, or our “Engagement Party” as we liked to refer to it. We had to get legally married to begin the immigration process, which we wanted to start ASAP. It was really important to us (or rather me) that we have a big and beautiful Catholic wedding, and it was just not possible to plan the type of wedding that I (we) wanted in a short amount of time. So, we decided to have a civil ceremony first, and then the wedding of my dreams at a later date. Also, we wanted to make sure that our first days and weeks as newlyweds were spent together, which would not have been possible if we didn’t have a civil marriage first. So, we got to planning!

Around 5:30 the night before the wedding, we all started to congregate inside of Winter Park’s Hernando’s Pizza Pub, the site of the rehearsal dinner Mama and Papa CB were throwing us. This was the first time the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and families really got together since we decided that we weren’t going to have a rehearsal.

“Make an elegant invitation statement without the fuss. Stylish invitation sets with matching envelopes, reception and response cards included.”
We were recently at a wedding and my future-mewether-in-law lamented that the traditional farewell toss was not bestowed on the couple. I was glad to tell her that we had one planned for our exit from the church. While other brides before me have debated the nature and material of their tosses (two of my favorites being Mrs. Kitten’s lavender and Mrs. Caterpillar’s petal cones), I had one choice due to the contract with our church: bird seed. Amazingly, it fit perfectly with our wedding - traditional, yet fun.
At first, I was set on sewing glassine envelopes with our monogram (a la Mint, the design blog). After researching the costs of envelopes or being faced with the task of cutting sheets of vellum, I resorted to pre-cut tulle rounds. I still wanted to personalize them a bit and so I decided to print out hang tags. I unoriginally chose “For the Love Birds”. Despite the lack of creativity, I think they turned out just swell. Feel free to follow my little DIY to make your own birdseed toss packets.

In my last dress post, my exhaustive search for a fluffly, romantical dress with lots o’ lace left me with lots o’… nothing. It was then that my ever-honest MOH, sistah Hamster (heretoforth known as sis[Hams]ter), bestowed on me a mantra that shaped the rest of my dress shopping hunt:
“You’re just not sweet and delicate!”
Ouchies.
This gal knows me better than I know myself - and doesn’t let me forget it. After the initial sting wore off, I realized that she was absolutely right. I don’t giggle girlishly – my guffaw can be heard across the room. I look like a doily in frills, but I shine in structured fabrics and clean lines. Lace has no place on this girl. I needed a statement dress – one that would proclaim:
Shazammy! Here’s Hammy!!!
With that in mind, my search was *much* more successful. Witness:
(Mr. Hammy, if for some reason you got this far, turn back *right now*!!)
