Mrs. Frozen Yogurt's Picture
Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
About Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

OK, you all convinced me about the assigning of tables. So I’m going to do it. I am a major planner, and I agreed that although I will be stressed creating the name cards and assigning tables so close to the wedding, I will be even more stressed if people are running around trying to find a place to sit. Well, luckily I came across the cutest name card holders from Good Guest on Etsy.

I think they are so sweet, and people can take them home and use them to hold pictures later if they want to.

However, I decided that instead of spending $19 for 12 of them, I am going to attempt to make them.

I know, can you believe it? Me? Attempt such a massive project? But hear me out. I live in a very wooded area, and one of the trails that we frequent has many fallen trees and branches that we can get for free. As we were walking through there recently, I noticed several branches that would be perfect. And best of all, Mr. Fro Yo is on board with this project, which is huge because I don’t think I can saw all of those branches.

One dilemma, though. I also saw another very similar idea, and now I can’t decide which one I like more. Here is the other one:

So what do you think? Do you like the first or second one better?

Both versions are cute, but my vote is for the first one.

Both are cute, but I think the first one might be easier. You won’t have to worry about cutting the wood so it will stand up straight/flat. Just saw, drill, and presto, probably, right?

I agree with jduck84. The first seems easier, and I like it better too!
I might just use this for our december wedding..it makes me think of Christmas trees!

I prefer the first one too =) it could be used as a cute little picture holder and double as a favor when the guests bring them home!

I like the first one too! I think it could be more easily repurposed by guests later, and as jduck84 said, you won’t have to worry about balancing the wood pieces.

totally love those, super cute and if I had any rustic elements in my wedding I’d probably steal your idea! By the way, it just occurred to me we live in the same city and we’re almost month twins… if you ever want to get together, and like shop or something I think that would be fun (hope that doesn’t sound weird) haha!

I’m drawn to the first idea! So glad you decided to assign seats. We just went to a wedding this weekend and our cousin didn’t have assigned seats, shoot, or even reserved tables for family, so our group was stuck at 3 tables in the far, back corner of the room where we couldn’t see anything that was going on. Oh, and they only at 7 chairs at each table, is it me or is that kind of weird? So yeah, you might not want to do that to your guests either.

Definitely the first one because its more practical. Your guests could use them for their own pictures after the wedding.

@Ms. Shabby Chic: Aww, that’s super sweet! Do you live in Austin? I know my Dallas thing can be deceiving.
@Lillindy: Oh yeah, that’s definitely weird. 7?? I can’t remember if we have 8 or 10, but either way it’s an even number.

It’s so cute you guys are doing this together. Can’t wait to see how they turn out!
