Mrs. Trail Mix's Picture
Mrs. Trail Mix, New York Age and Occupation: 26, PE Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, MBA Student Engagement Date: March 2009 Wedding Date: June 2010 Venue: Tannery Pond at the Darrow School About Me: I'm a country girl who somehow found herself living in the Big Apple and loving every minute of it. I'm planning a rustic, country-chic wedding in my hometown in upstate New York and it's going to be a Party with a capital P. White wine, flea markets and running keep me happy and my friends, family and fiance are my world. I'm a little bit crafty, a little bit crazy but mostly just crazy in love.
About Mrs. Trail Mix

Presents have already started arriving on our doorstep (which, BTW, is an AWESOME perk of getting married—every day is like Christmas!). A few have been off of our registry, one or two have been a little, um, special? And some, like the ones I’m about to show you, are simply gorgeous.

Enter Michael Aram. He’s an American artist who works primarily in metals and whose pieces are clearly inspired by nature. I would never have known about him if we hadn’t received 2 separate presents from his collection. Both were from different stores (Macy’s and Bloomies), so he is clearly a well-known home goods designer. Who knew?

Then, a recently married friend of mine told me she and her fiance actually registered for their wedding at his online store! An amazing idea and clearly, worth taking another look-see.

Here’s what we’ve received:

So pretty, right? Our home decor was instantly upgraded.

For the record, I am not getting paid to endorse Michael, I am just truly amazed by his home goods collection and no matter your price point or your style, there is something for everyone. I think it’s safe to say that anything by him would be a hit as a wedding present (even Mr Trail Mix thinks both of our gifts are “cool”).

Without further ado, here are some of my favorites off of his website:

A lovely flower bowl makes any table pretty.

These Gingko servers are $59.00 and so pretty! A perfect gift for a guest on a budget.

I am beyond obsessed with anything coral, so I had to include this piece:

I think a set of these would go perfectly on my mantelpiece.

What do you think? Anyone else received something from Mr Mike A? Should we register here? Would you?

I LOVE his stuff! I have the Ginko leave servers and they are gorgeous. I also got his Bark Vase- it’s so different and lovely with all the texture.

Love Michael Aram! I registered for his stuff at Macy’s to minimize the number of registries. Did you know Gilt often has MA sales? I’m constantly needing to restrain myself. ;)

Those servers are amazing! All the things you posted were pretty great, actually. I just found out about an on-the-fly wedding so maybe I’ll get them something shiny from him.

Aram has gorgeous Judaica pieces too — we got the most awesome seder plate, menorah, etc. for our wedding off of our Macy’s registry. As for your question, I think I wouldn’t register directly with MA, since you might want the option to exchange the items for other things and your selection would be bigger at the dept. stores. ;-)

How funny! I think the pieces you’ve shown are lovely. I, however, was less than thrilled to receive a peculiar Michael Aram cat & mouse cheeseplate for which we most certainly did not register. I was told we could exchange for store credit only, so I’m relieved to see there are other items available that won’t horrify me!

M.A. rocks. Like HC we got a beautiful Kiddish Cup from MIL Peep, and we also have a couple trivets from him. All of which rock. We still have some $$ at a store in LA that I am hoping can go towards a fab silver MA frame.
