I love reading historical biographies, multi-tasking, teasing my hair, and, despite my height, wearing high heeled shoes. I am the ultimate klutz with an uncanny ability to put on a graceful front. Mr. Pudding and I have been dating for over six years, and are very excited to finally merge our (very large) families. We are planning a traditional Polish-Catholic wedding that is anything but predictable.
About Mrs. Pudding

STDs

November 19th, 2009 @ 1:30 pm by Mrs. Pudding

Since we have had a looooooooong engagement, I have been so frustrated by the fact that I couldn’t actually plan anything for certain, in fear of changing my mind. Now that we are less than 8 months out and it’s time to get started, I am finding that I have no idea what I want!

FMIL Pudding has been asking me to think about sending Save the Dates, since her family is spread out all across the USA, and will be traveling to the Greater Toronto Area for the wedding. I hadn’t really thought about sending these out, because they are not customary for Polish weddings. Actually, I have never received one myself!

Nevertheless, I realized the importance of getting the word out ahead of time so that people could plan their vacations appropriately, so I started searching for inspiration (anyone else out there believe that searching the internet for ideas is the hardest and most complicated element of DIY?).

I have fallen in love with these fabric backed invitations, and am thinking of incorporating this idea into our STDs.

Anyone else using fabric in some part of their wedding stationery?

I actually am using it for my invitations. I put the adhesive on the back of the cardstock though and then used a rotary cutter to trim. Cardstock is much easier to push through the machine

I love the idea of incorporating fabric into paper goods! So so cute! And those examples are beautiful! I say go for it!

@PlaidBride: I don’t own a Xyron sticker maker, so I couldn’t use Martha’s tip, and had to be inventive. Stay tuned to see what I came up with. I would also love to see a pic of how yours turned out!

I’m planning on using fabric on my escort cards, but not anything else. I love the look of those, though!

I’ve considered having fabric belly bands. We shall see!

I considered sewing a border around my invites to tie them into the napkins and stuff at the reception, but nixed the idea when I realized how much work it would be. This is a great idea, though!

Ooh, pretty. To save money, you could just do fabric bellybands. Just a thought.

I’m finding more and more in pre-planning (short engagement! Must be prepared!) that invites and STDs are my serious hang-ups. Too many fantastic options!

I never really considered fabric but the example you have is really cute. I’d love to see the end result.

I used decoupage paste and glued my fabric to cardstock and made fabric-covered pocket folds for my invites. Very time consuming, but I got a lot of compliments on them.

So pretty! I love fabric, but I don’t really have a use for it in my wedding… I’m going for an airplane/travel theme! I love your inspiration pic :)

[...] about the backing paper? Do you remember this post? It’s not paper… it’s fabric! I originally got the idea from Martha, but had to tweak it [...]
