Mrs. Spaniel's Picture
Mrs. Spaniel, Los Angeles Age and Occupation: 28, Law Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Psychologist Wedding Date: March 2010 Venue: Calamigos Ranch About Me: I'm a third-year law student trying to balance graduating with starting my career, keeping up a relationship, and, oh yeah, planning an Old World, multi-cultural, "mountain lodge" wedding for 180 guests! A South Asian Jewish girl getting ready to marry my handsome Catholic Dane, I'm hoping to blend our cultures in our wedding just a bit more gently than by providing samosas as appetizers and offering æbleskiver for dessert. (Although that would also be awesome.)

The Bride Wears Prada

November 19th, 2009 @ 3:37 pm by Mrs. Spaniel

The Bride Wears Prada : wedding shoes Pewterp Prada graphite metallic leather rose detail peep toe pumps, $556 at Bluefly

At least, the bride would like to wear Prada. Maybe if I bought them now and wore them a few times first they could be my something old? (Ha!) And it would reduce the per-wear cost? Or even better! You could buy them in a size 8 and lend them to me on my wedding day, and they could be my something borrowed? I swear, I would even give them back… eventually… ! ;)

Who is your dream shoe designer? Do you have a particular style that you absolutely love?

I love love love shoes….especially Loubs, manolos, jimmys…but alas I just can’t spend the money. I did find http://www.ninashoes.com they have gorgeous shoes, very reasonable, discounts and free shipping…they def. had some in that steel gray color too…
I got my pair and they are gorgeous, seriously comfortable and look way more expensive ;)

I’m not much of a shoe girl, but the pair you posted is fabulous. Darn that outrageous price tag, though!

Those Prada heels are yummy!! I’ve been in love with Louboutin shoes since very early on in the wedding planning process. I’m still trying to find a favorite pair and then go buy them. There’s just something about the red soles. :)

A fellow shoe loving bride…I don’t have a particular fav but tend to favor Louboutin and Giuseppe Zanotti, one day I swear.

I wanted the Louboutin Pink Petal sandal and ended up with a copy cat that is just a shoe-gasim-eriffic.

Those shoes are AMAZING! I would totally get some Louboutin’s if I could afford them!

finally! someone recognizes a designer other than c. loub.

it’s nice to see people going with that they like instead of getting caught up with the idea of having red soles.

Since I couldn’t afford to walk down the aisle in a designer dress, I splurged and bought myself my first (and probably last!) pair of designer shoes. They’re Christian Louboutin’s, and they’re gorgeous… I can’t wait to wear them!

Dem’s sexy! I am on (the top of) a wait list for a pair of Loubs that havent been released yet! They’re sending them to me as soon as they’re released! *happy dance* They’re a white version of the “love” flats. (LO on one shoe and VE on the other). I can’t wait for shoe shooots!

It’s lovely! And Prada shoes are pretty comfy, too. Will you be going for it?

@Ms. Min Pin: That is great! I’d heard Ninas were uncomfortable, but I’ve always liked them, so maybe I’ll give them a shot someday. ;)
@Mrs. Deviled Egg: I was never a shoe girl until wedding planning. Now that I see how many beautiful shoes are out there, I want them all!
@Miss_Carmel: I love the red sole, too… I just haven’t found a pair of Loubs that I love on *top* for the wedding (for every other occasion, perhaps!)
@DecemberBride: Seriously, some of the designer shoes I’ve come across are way more expensive than the dress. ;)
@fiftyfootbride: They sound cute!
@HelloKitty2: Sadly probably not… I already have this totally reasonable pair of shoes in mind, but if I stumble upon an extra $500 I may have to reconsider. ;)

I sadly don’t own much shoes because I’m poor! Going into fancy smancy stores, I of course love the look of Loubous

HOWEVER, my dream is to own a pair of L.A.M.B shoes. Gwen is my idol and her sense of style rocks. I drool over her clothing line, bags, and shoes! They are hot! (But alas, I cannot afford)

I love love love my Badgley Mischka wedding shoes, but as far as shoe designers in general, I’m a Louboutin gal, myself. Everytime I see Loubies I drool a bit. Maybe one day I’ll be able to afford them… a girl can dream!

@Mrs. Mouse: Me too! I’m going pretty traditional in other aspects, so I want to do something slightly unexpected with the shoes, the last bastion of my planning freedom. ;)
