The Hammy Dress Worksheet

November 19th, 2009 @ 2:15 pm by Mrs. Hamster

I love lists.

I check them twice, re-organize them, and do a little Hammy “High 5!” when I cross things off. Itineraries? Love ’em . I like to know exactly where I’m going and when I’m going to be there. Checklists and worksheets? Up there with cookies (Okay, maybe not, but what really *is* up there with cookies?). So when it came time for my final dress search I wanted it to be just as logical and organized. The result?

The Hammy Dress Worksheet

The Hammy Dress Worksheet : wedding wedding dress Dresswo01 dresswo01

(*Okay, so I don’t really want people to cry when they see me walk down the aisle, but I would be really touched if they did!)

Each member of my dress-judging committee received this worksheet and evaluated potential dresses based on both shazam-ness and tear-jerking strength. I even drew a basic silhouette of a trumpet gown to provide an area to visually capture dress detail, should the judge desire.

After recovering from roll-on-the-floor laughter induced by the ludicrousness of this worksheet, my friends actually filled it out! What started as a crazy little joke for myself actually turned out to be quite useful! Huzzah!

How did you approach your dress search?

I so wish I was a list person. As it is, I currently just run around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to remember everything that needs to be done and then realizing what I forgot once I got home

My purse is filled with post it lists but I always lose them and have to write another, then I find them again, so I have to and have to compile them into a new list if things have changed, making this the most inefficient list-making ever. ^_^

I am just like you–love, love, love me some worksheets/lists/etc. But, no work sheet would’ve helped me decide my dress was the one–it was an instantaneous feeling the minute I put it on. But, I love that you made this. It’s adorable.

This is so cute, and great for your memory box/scrapbook! I wish I was as organized as you.

I am totally stealing this idea and trying to get friends/family that come with to buy in. :)

BTW today I am going wedding dress ’shopping’ (really just trying on) for the first time. So excited/nervous/excited-again!!

A bee after my own heart! I’m a list nerd, and freaking love filling out forms (for some reason, it puts me at ease AND I always have nice neat handwriting on forms). Would totally be one of your BMs on dress shopping date for that form…too cute!

@Miss Sapphire: Yeah, I was definitely worried about that! Luckily they had a sense of humor. :)

@Mrs. Cowboy Boot: I love your dress!! It is so pretty and matched your wedding. I didn’t have “The One” feeling with my dress. It took my friend crying and my mom and sister telling me for me to know, haha!

Wow, that’s so awesome!! I love your list! I didn’t have a list, but went back to the store 3 times to try on my dress just to be sure before I bought it. Definitely worth it.

I love lists too! I found my dress in a magazine, I couldn’t find it anywhere or anything close enough in a dress shop, so I’m having it made. I couldn’t be happier. :)

This made me giggle!
I was so terrified at the thought of dress shopping that all I did to prepare was make sure that I knew all the rules, and what underwear to wear. lol
