In my last video post, I introduced you to our lovely videographer, Wilson Fontaine. One of the cool things that Wilson does is incorporate more casual, pre-wedding footage with the wedding day events to create a complete story. With that in mind, Mr. Hammy and I met Wilson in Central Park to get some casual footage.
Mr. Hamster and I wore the same outfits we selected for our engagement photo shoot, because we liked them so much (or rather, we didn’t want to go through the ordeal of picking out new outfits!). We met at the fountain outside the Plaza hotel and then headed into the park.
It was a sunny, weekend morning, and it was still pretty quiet. We first started out by one of Wilson’s favorite hidden-tree spots:
Not the exact location, but this is so you have an idea (and it was autumn-y instead of spring-y).
We then proceeded to a little creek area, which I never knew existed.
Cute, no?
Wilson told us to just be natural and romantic, which is difficult for two goofballs like us. After a while though, we got more comfortable, only to look up and see that a small audience had amassed to watch us being all lovey-dovey - some were even taking pictures! Awkward!
We ended the video-shoot sitting on some rocks, with me sitting in Mr. Hammy’s lap, much to his dismay (I don’t look that heavy, but I’m surprisingly dense. Either that, or Mr. Hammy has wimpy legs, ha!).
Wilson asked us to share a romantic story about ourselves and we came up with… the dumpling story. Not too romantic, but very characteristic of our true gluttonous selves.
One unexpected but pleasant moment of the day occurred when a fellow bride-to-be and her fiance approached us to ask about my dress. Apparently their engagement shoot was coming up, and she was looking and looking for an outfit. I gladly shared my dress info, and they were on their way. Happy to help out a fellow bride-to-be (if you’re reading this, I hope your engagement shoot was a blast!).
Overall, it was a really fun experience and a great way for us to become more comfortable with Wilson. One thing that cracked me up was that the mans kept on staying extremely still - I had to repeatedly remind him that this was a video shoot, not a photo shoot, and motion is appreciated! Silly Mr. Hammy…
If you’ve had your engagement shoot already, how did it go? If it’s upcoming, how are you preparing for it?
