I love reading historical biographies, multi-tasking, teasing my hair, and, despite my height, wearing high heeled shoes. I am the ultimate klutz with an uncanny ability to put on a graceful front. Mr. Pudding and I have been dating for over six years, and are very excited to finally merge our (very large) families. We are planning a traditional Polish-Catholic wedding that is anything but predictable.

The STDs Revisted - Part One

November 20th, 2009 @ 3:42 pm by Mrs. Pudding

Our STDs are a labour of love. They went through several stages before they were perfect. They started off like this:

The STDs Revisted - Part One : wedding save the dates Img 01702 Since our invitations are going to be a very formal navy and white (with maybe a hint of yellow), I wanted our STDs to be mostly yellow, and more playful. I liked the overall design, and I enjoyed the yellow envelope, but I was not sure what to do about the backing on the card. I did try the material backing with some scrap fabric, and here is what it looked like:

Even though I loved the extra texture that the material provides, I worried that the pattern on the front combined with the different pattern on the back was just too busy. So, I tried it with a navy backing:

Even though the STDs looked undeniable better with the navy backing, I was not in love. I had my heart set on incorporating fabric. So, I went back to the drawing board.

Did you rework your STDs several times before getting them just right?

We’ve been workign on our plans for our save the dates for months. We’re almost at the final design stages, but it’s taken us awhile to get there.

These are beautiful as is, so I can’t wait to see the final version!

I am so in love with your color scheme. I’ve always wanted a navy wedding, which is our main color. I’m still undecided on an accent color. Your posts keep making me lean towards yellow! :)

I really love your colors! Well those are the same colors I am using. Where did you get your envelope from? I am having a hard time finding paper products in the right shade of yellow. Yours looks perfect!

I’m so excited to see how everything with your invites/std’s turn out! We used the same colors and I had the worst time trying to get the right combination of blue, yellow and white!
