Videography

November 20th, 2009 @ 5:39 pm by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

I am so excited to write this post, and for the last several months I didn’t know if this post was possible. You see, I fell in love with videography, and more specifically, Super 8 videography. But with our surmounting wedding costs, I was worried that it was something that we just couldn’t incorporate into the budget.

However, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I just had to make it happen. The moments that I will share with my family, friends, and Mr. Fro Yo that day need to be captured, and with more than just photography. Also, I’ve heard so often that people really regret not having video of their wedding. I can already imagine us watching it with our kids years down the road and reliving all those wonderful memories.

Enter Vanessa McKellar. Now, this girl is talented. I watched her videos and cried. I don’t even know these people, and I cried. I’m serious. Plus, she is so sweet and wonderful to work with. And best of all? She posted about Weddingbee and how awesome it is!

So, are you ready to see one of my favorite videos?

Erika & Phil in Super 8 from Vanessa McKellar Productions.com on Vimeo.

Did you love it, like I did?

So what are we doing for videography? Some regular video and a little mix of Super 8! You have no idea how excited I am!!

Did your videography love get incorporated into your wedding, too?

I love super 8 videos they are so classic and timeless. If I’m not mistaken the song is by The Cinematic Orchestra or Patrick Wilson.

Beautiful. We didn’t have it in the budget for a videographer, but that was great.

I totally bawled my face off watching this!! How beautiful… :)

I am still undecided though if I want a videographer. I’m worried about the quality of work I”ll end up with… its a lot harder to find a good videographer than a photographer! I also have bad luck when it comes to vendors lol.

@RecessionistaBride: I definitely agree!! I had the hardest time finding someone that I loved, but once I found Vanessa, I knew I had to book her!

Miss Frozen Yogurt, I suspect I am just excited as you are about your video. Thank you so much for your kind words.

And yes, the song is by Cinematic Orchestra and it’s called “To Build a Home”.

I WAS 100% sure I didn’t want one until I stumbled upon the work of a fantastic Super 8 Videographer that a good friend of mine knew. It wasn’t originally in our budget, like you, but we are trying to find a way to work it in. And, I know we won’t regret it once we do.

I used Vanessa in my wedding this October and was completely blown away by the result (and we have only yet to see the trailer!). We also decided to have videography at the last minute BEACUSE of Vanessa’s website and what she was able to create. All of the emotion…none of the cheese! Brilliant!

No way! I spoke with Vanessa last week about doing our wedding. I think she is going to be a bit out of our budget, but LOVED her work!!!
