Mrs. Lamb's Picture
Mrs. Lamb, Norfolk Age and Occupation: 25, Homeland Security Consultant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Graduate Student Engagement Date: January 2009 Wedding Date: January 2010 Venue: Trinity Presbyterian Church/Harrison Opera House About Me: I’m a Homeland Security Consultant with a tendency towards pulling office pranks, taking lunch breaks, and drinking Wawa shakes. I’m also an English major with a serious obsession with alliteration and rhymes. While I’m not keeping America safe, I’m training for half marathons and the Escape from Alcatraz swim. Or moving for the third time this year. Or baking. Or wedding crafting. Or crying about wedding planning. All the while, I’m getting myself into Lucille Ball-esque scrapes and making Jim Carey-esque faces. Our big fat Czech/Baptist/Jewish/Italian wedding is a combination of vintage eclectic, DIY, and little spoonful of sugar from our Event Coordinator. It’s going to be a Norfolk flavored wedding with the verve of an only-daughter-blow-out bash!

Lookin’ Good, Good Lookin’

Lookin' Good, Good Lookin' : wedding engagement pictures 00906 00906

I must have said that about 10 times to the Lambster during our engagement shoot. Hubba hubba, that stud is going to be all mine!

You may notice that his hair is actually quite short in these pictures (I had lamented it being too long to wear his uniform before). My woolly counterpart experienced what we women have been experiencing for years. My woolly counterpart went in for a trim and came out with nearly a buzz cut. An hour before our shoot. One. Hour. He was actually quite distraught as it had taken 4 months since getting out of the Navy to grow it out to a more civvie length. Our photographer, Sam, did an awesome job reassuring him that it looked great. I’ll narrate the rest of the pics with the actual conversation we had while Sam was shooting.

Lamma-ramma-ding-dong: “I can’t believe this happened.”
Miss Lamb: “I can believe it, I told you to get it cut earlier this week.”

Lookin' Good, Good Lookin' : wedding engagement pictures 03002 03002

Lamb-stud: “I mean he just kept cutting.”
Miss Lamb: “We’ve all been there. Welcome to the world of long hair.”

My Lamb Lover: “Was it because it was a male hairdresser?”
Miss Lamb: “No. It’s hairdressers in general.”

Lamb chop: “Do you think it’ll grow out by the wedding? Is there anything I can do to make it grow faster?”
Miss Lamb: “Prenatal vitamins.”
Lamba-bamma: “Seriously? Where do you get them?”

All photos courtesy of our awesome photographer, Sam Hughes. And a special shout out to Doumar’s and their great staff that put up with us shooting around dinner time!

Have you ever gotten your hair done right before an event or photo shoot and regretted it?

You look SLAMMIN’ (hello, middle school) in that red dress! You guys are gorgeous. :)

We both had our hair cut the day before the shoot. I took him to my fancy-pants salon because I didn’t want it to look like he’d just had it cut. Then on e-shoot day, my hairdresser came over to the apartment and blew out + styled my hair, and then did FI’s hairs too. I felt like a princess, and it went great.

I just had my hair trimmed too.

And I’m not sure if this is true or not, but be careful when taking prenatals! I’ve heard that the upped calcium can do kidney-stone things. I stopped taking them. :(

I was totally looking at these thinking “If that’s your idea of LONG HAIR on a guy, Mr. Mary Jane is a total hippie!”) Seriously though, I think you both look great! I love your outfits, and those shoes ROCK even if they weren’t the comfiest (no pain, no gain right?)
