Miss Snow, Madison, WI/Asheville, NC Age and Occupation: 28, PhD student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Graphic Designer Engagement Date: August 5, 2009 Wedding Date: June 2010 Venue: Claxton Farm About Me: I am true Southern gal displaced in the beautiful and blustery midwest. A true theatre geek at heart, I love any kind of performance and spend most of my time researching old productions in dank library archives. When not in the library, I love music (punk rock, bluegrass, and everything in between), design in all forms, any reality TV show on Bravo (especially those that feature housewives or sharp knives), beer and wine from Oregon, and exploring the outdoors. My fiance and I are true best friends, and he inspires me every day. After a long and happy dating relationship, we’ve decided to tie the knot in the mountains of North Carolina, our home state. We’re planning a long-distance, largely-DIY, eco-conscious hip farm affair that celebrates family, friends, and love.

Pyramids, Take 2

November 23rd, 2009 @ 6:43 pm by Miss Snow

Folks requested that I give a little more detail in how I made these paper pyramids and for some more info about how to use the screwpunch. Ask and you shall receive! I made a few more this weekend and I documented the process in much more detail this time!

1. First, print and cut out the template here (and you’ll see another detailed step-by-step guide on Oncewed too!).

2. Here are the supplies. The white spaceship-shaped thing is the template.

3. Trace the template on your craft paper.

4. Yep, the whole thing.

5. Cut it out! Tada, pretty spaceship-shaped paper.

6. Enter the SCREWPUNCH!

7. Hold the screwpunch over the paper and press. Use this tool on a cutting mat or some other tough surface. The screwpunch will go through fabric or the vinyl top of your card/crafting table (yes, I did).

8. See, a cool hole!

9. After you’ve made all your holes, fold your pyramid.

(It’ll look kind of like this.)

10. Glue with rubber cement.

11. Hold the tabs while it dries.

12. Tada!

13. String up with twine. You can also put them over the large vintage-style Christmas lights. Just cut an X instead of punching holes.

Pyramids!

Nice tutorial! I’ll have to check out that screwpunch for when my hole punch won’t reach far enough!

@Miss Cola: Yes! This is why I love the screwpunch! It will make holes ANYWHERE (unlike those snobby holepunches)

Really cute! Thanks for the tutorial. I was also thinking you could maybe use these for table numbers somehow.

These came out great! Thanks for sharing the tutorial. And I think I need to get a screwpunch now (and a use for it, hmmm).

Those are super cute! I was wondering how some photos showed them lit up - thanks for the info! Off to wander the aisles of Michael’s looking for a screw punch…
