About Mrs. Ramen

SAFE!

November 23rd, 2009 @ 11:14 am by Mrs. Ramen

Woo hoo!!!

I am happy to say that we will NOT go over our max capacity of 350 - it actually looks like we’re going to be UNDER! It makes me so happy!

This may seem like a(nother) small feat, but let me recap the statistics for you: we sent out ~210 invitations. We invited a whopping 444 people, which means we would be BARELY safe if 20% said no. And we were getting a TON of yesses from our OOTowners. So, I was definitely getting the Guest List Sweats.

So now we’re contemplating: do we try to fill it up a bit? Boost up the appetizers? Or just pocket the extra savings? Hmm.

Did you get the number of yesses and nos that you needed/wanted? If you came in under your goal number, what did you do with the extra $$$?

Pocket! I’m sure what you already planned was more than enough for your guests to enjoy!

Pocket it and keep it for any unplanned spending that may pop up…If nothing pops up, spend it on the honeymoon! =0)

we got a lot more no’s then we thought too. Invited 160 and only 109 came. We put the extra money toward our honeymoon and completing our registry afterward.

you’ll need an extra massage on your honeymoon! haha
We invited a total of 190 guests and we had 120 show - really for us, a perfect amount! We were able to pay off some debt with our money! :)

i say you pocket the extra. i’m also sure you’ve planned enough for your max number of guests so you should be fine as is!

We came in under our goal number and just saved the extra money. Once the list was locked, we didn’t want to add anyone else. This was actually one of the main reasons we came in UNDER budget!

Unless you’re under budget (yeah right) keep it. You’ll need it.

We invited about 220, but so far, we’ve only gotten about 30 yes’s. I worry because we have a 150 minimum. There will be no extra money :(

I’m really hoping something like this happens for us. I’m stressing about how big our guest list is already and we haven’t even finalized it!

We rented a photobooth with the “extra” money we had from the declines. It was worth it.

OMG CONGRATULATIONS!!! I totally understand what you are going through! I am so happy you will fit comfortably :) I say (as I do about all things wedding), if you had mentally “spent” the money, use it for something you would have otherwise wanted on your big day. Or keep it, haha :) Whatever you decide, have no regrets! What a happy day!

I say pocket the extra money! Or, spend it on a splurge during your honeymoon, like a spa day for two or something fun and just for the two of you!

We’re inviting a few more than the venue can hold as well, and have already gotten a few more “no”s than we were expecting. I momentarily debated sending a few more invites, but honestly it’s going to be so chaotic a smaller wedding will be quite nice!

We came in under estimate for the wedding also, and since my parents hosted the rehearsal dinner as well, we just pumped up the food/drink options and number of invites to the rehearsal dinner. It was nice to include more people the night before, and they appreciated being a part of the more intimate event.
